You call it garbage but I look at how many people still play this game and see you all have zero idea what you're doing. If I can host and maintain a private server with more population and make more $$ than a retail game It says I know what I'm doing so your opinions irrelevant to me. I mean I'm not looking for discussion especially with this community that cant even get it through their thick skulls that protecting new players from veterans is more important than protecting trash veterans from better veterans. Maybe it's because the only people left playing are veteran silvers on Jericho/fight clubbers and the EU players. Oh well. Back to the other hundreds of better games out there with better game mechanics. Hopefully one day LO will completely ignore you lot and fix the game.

It's been a few years since I've actually held any interest in this game and with LO taking their time I felt some unpopular opinions especially with the veterans still playing need to be heard. This game needs drastic changes to ever be relevant again. The only thing that brings people back is Nostalgia and the main thing pushing new players away is the old players that stomp on them. However if you want to do nothing but stomp noobs and drive new players away then go ahead and downvote and trash talk. The engine upgrade will only temporarily bring players back if things arent done to improve new player introduction and welcoming. Threat and Rating: Threat based servers need to be dissolved. It just doesn't work when toxic players sit there and dethreat to bypass the system anyways. Instead it should be based on rating. Whether or not you think rating correlates with skill doesn't matter. If you are almost max rank and you are STILL at the same "skill level" as a brand new player I'd rather have those brand new players be given the chance to get better with players their own rating and not with people who have thousands of hours on the game. If you suck at the game that badly it's your fault and your fault only. Go watch youtube videos and learn how to be better or get out. You deserve zero hand holding. You know who you are. Your district choices will depend on how high your highest chars rating is + your threat level. If you're already pushing gold and you're a new player the game should assume you're a smurf and kick you out of the new player district. Worry not matchmaking is still based off threat but to all you 255 bronzies and silvers too bad you're gonna have to actually sweat now against golds. Guns: All new players start with one of the 3 slotted primaries of their choice from each category. (Choose one in each category) Marksmen choices: HVR, OBIR, OBEYA AR Choices: STAR, NTEC CQC Choices: OCA, PMG, JG Anti-Vehicle: ALIG Secondary(Not 3 slotted): FBW, NFA, PDW, ACT, RSA Grenades: Will no longer be locked behind rating. Locking essential tools makes for an unfair gaming enviroment so every grenade type should be available to every player. Mods: All mods Level 1-3 are unlocked by default and useable and all rating requirements are removed. Currently there is no point to keeping them locked behind rating and roles in a game in such a late stage. By locking them behind rating you do nothing, but make it even harder for new players to overcome veterans. Starter Vehicle: Starter cars are nice, but garbage in comparison to other cars. Players should start off with the most sturdy and forgiving vehicle there is. Two slot Pioneers for Enforcers and Espacios for Crims. 4 slots still locked behind paywall because you dont NEED a 4 slot. Premium: The 50% cooldown reduction needs to go. This is the ONLY pay 2 win mechanic. Let's not give people a reason to call APB P2W. Customization: One of the main core mechanics of this game that makes APB so unique is the customization of your char, vehicles, sprays and tunes. You have so many nice cosmetics on the armas market now there is no reason to not start players off with more non armas customization options. It's a proven fact that people who love the way their char looks stay and play it. Having every noob start with the same 4 pieces of clothing and locking basic clothing behind hours of grinding puts off a ton of players. Let people put hours of work into their char customization and develop a bond to it then go get stomped trying to learn. Now I know you're thinking "How is LO supposed to make money if they hand everyone 3 slot weapons for free?" There are literally hundreds of cosmetics and other gun choices on ARMAS. You shouldn't have to pay to compete in a non MMORPG style shooter or level up. You should be given the basics to compete from the beginning. This isn't an MMORPG like WoW. You are delusional and selfish if you really think low threat veterans with all these unlockables dont have an advantage over new players with a STAR, an FBW, frags an starter car. I skimmed so sorry if I missed the point, but I've been saying this for years. Just because you're trash at the game it doesnt mean you should be playing against low rating players. The mentality and excuses made for "YoUr LeVeL DoEsNt MeAn SkiLl" is what killed this game. Level doesnt directly mean how skilled you are, but it does have something to do with the amount of advantages you have against new players whether its map/gun knowledge, hidden interactions like the jump kicking doors or just straight up having more gear. Also this community is what killed the game. Refusing to fight people your level and above all the while driving newer players to quit because you get your jollies off stomping them. If you are a 255 bronze/green or even silver and do nothing but farm bronze district you are a cancer to the game. I dont care if golds are too pro for you. You sucking isnt an excuse to bully new players. This game will never pick back up if you let these scrublord bronze/silver veterans farm new players.

APB has no new players and if it does they just get put against trash veterans farming bronze district so they end up rage quitting.

I mean I'm sure no one on here including me actually thinks their opinion on a game forum is enough to change matts mind, but then again some of you guys are still here playing the game daily so I'm sure some of the people here arent in the right state of mind. I stated an opinion because we're on the forum for discussion not because I expected Matt to change it. I tried out Riot yesterday and today. Today about halfway into the first match APB crashed my high end PC. No more APB for me until the mythical engine upgrade comes so I could really careless if they ban the launcher or not. Just dont act like dumbing down the game to where everyone and everything looks like play dough doesn't give an advantage. Atleast own up to being a scrub.

I've used it myself and i think it should be banned. Most people using it aren't using it because they are on trash PCs. They are using it because they are too simple to shoot people without the game looking like it's on n64. It definitely does come with advantages.

As one of those people who were wrongly banned by Tiggsfight I played for maybe 2 days before getting bored of this game again. It was a great idea to undo all of Tiggs screw ups because some people actually did come back. Your usual brain dead biased thoughts again didnt even bother to think of the fact that cheaters can make new accounts for free as much as they want. If you really think that a cheater getting back their old account is gonna say "oh thank God I can cheat again because I got my old account back" then you are living proof that common sense isnt common at all. I can guarentee most of the people who cheated arent even subbed to APB cheats anymore and couldnt give rats patootie about their old accounts ESPECIALLY since our accounts had ALL their APB$ wiped from it. Please do us all a favor and stop killing our brain cells with your posts.

As someone who used to visit the APB forums when G1 had it and laugh at how badly Tiggs screwed it up because of her little power hungry ban streaks against anyone who opposed her views I'm actually glad to see progress and the game turning around once LO picked it up. Obviously a small company picking up a game with such spaghetti code would be a rough start, but the transparency and effort into reviving the game has me hoping the game gets better. Not enough to entice me to come back and play yet but hopefully one day.

To me it seems like APB has already ran its course and they're just trying to minimize spending until they actually get the game updated hoping for a surge of players from the engine upgrade. It's a great game, but it lacks population and a twitch presence which are two important things for a pvp game these days. Few days ago I ran into a whole group of ex APB players in R6:Siege with my group of ex APB players. We're all still around and gaming just APB isnt as addicting and fun as it used to be. It just lacks that hype factor that makes you want to keep coming back for more. The biggest streamer to try out APB was summit and when he tried it out he was griefed to death. If you think twitch presence isnt important go check out sea of thieves ever since summit started playing it again. I think the problem is us, the people that have been around since day 1. We saw summit streaming and decided to snipe him so we could get opposed against him again and again thus ruining any chance we had at bringing in a massive playerbase. What the viewers saw was "yeah if summit is getting stomped on I wouldnt stand a chance so why bother". What we saw was "Oh here's my chance to be relevant for a couple hours". Even if they add a new gun, vehicle, outfit, game mode it's just not enough to grab anyone's attention. The only thing I can see getting peoples attention is the engine upgrade and for how long will it keep their attention? The game has been up and running for too long and unless they figure out how to make it so new players can actually stand a chance against seasoned veterans (looking at you 255 silvers) I dont think the game will go anywhere even with the engine upgrade. High skill cap games like this with a small population dont do well at all in today's gaming world.
