  1. I've been saying this for a long time.. both of LO and Players are blaming the wrong thing. The fault is NOT from the matchmaker. The Matchmaker simply sees available Players and matches them together.. It must either consider everyone or nobody outside a given threat. There can't be a decent in-between. Messing with the matchmaker will NOT change existing Player knowledge/skill. Furthermore, reducing District Capacity from 50v50 to 40v40 will in fact make matchmaking worse. Stop pretending otherwise. Existing Servers should be upgraded with Global Matchmaking, else time is simply wasted on marginal, non-noticeable differences in matchmaking.

    It rocks a juicy 1350 points of health. Its slowness can be negated by Nitrous 3. It rams harder than 4x4, supports up to 4 passengers and has no trunk storage problems. Nulander Pioneer is still a Pioneer. Players just got used to taking their time pressing F while letting High Burn Fuel do all the magic. High Burn Fuel should have never existed.

  7. LO appears to be going for population spikes like this every 6 months (assuming they can actually continue delivering as explained in the previous AMA). There is nothing to do at max rank other than to play for the sake of playing. With the core gameplay being given the lowest priority, many players won't even bother. The game wasn't ready to retain players from the New Horizon update but LO released the Waterfront Contacts anyway. Let's see how they'll do with THIS month's supposedly balance patch.

    Agreed, it wasn't a bright decision. The common notion from those against the Bounty System is: "it destroys my mission". Pure nonsense since chances are they were going to lose the mission anyway. But it isn't new. Changes to APB were based on reaction and emotion rather than what would make the game objectively better.

    The Bounty System was indeed modified but only for Mission Districts. It remains the same in fight clubs.

But let's see how this month's balance patch will be like, plus the December stuff. I also don't like the fact that LO is repeating mistakes that shouldn't be repeated but 20% chance is better than none.
  11. Pure fact right here. Again, it simply amazes me how low-priority this was given. APB would now be retaining much more players if this nonsensical and aimless Matchmaking-effort was instead directed towards balance that isn't just shit. Regarding player-counts, August-September not only showed a surge due to the 2 Waterfront Contacts but also because of the unban-wave (EAC → SARD). Next month will tell more accurately as not all these players are unique (multiple accounts).
  12. Too many people who would very much give 100% false-feedback if it means they get to s♥mp more to LO. It is ironic because most of them now decided to lay-low. They can't show face with the current outcome.
  13. That's much higher than the true-rate but yes. Players are indeed backing away. Realistically speaking, 50 Players WILL dip for sure once they reach the new Max Rank. We have but it felt on deaf ears. At least we reverted the nonsensical x2 Med Spray healing speed as well as managed to introduce a downside to Highburn Fuel. LO didn't display balancing efforts beyond minor or illogical tweaks. For now, there should be a balance patch this September. Let's see what they will do this time. I genuinely hope it would be a step in the right direction but I wouldn't celebrate till it actually turns out good. LO was never good with experimenting. It is also not a good idea to have AI learn from all active players. A good number isn't good enough to be an example for AI to learn from. It would be faster and more consistent to do something standard for AI PvE NPCs.
  14. Spot on. I agree with your friends. Balance is definitely lacking and was deemed low priority for a long time.
  15. MattScott in the AMA declared attempts to make PvE. He won't 'spoil' it and may give information at a later date. I'm not sure if he'll let you in on that but the possibility exists.
