  2. something something if you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a bullet?
  3. what's the current ui interface thingy called? scaleform? man, they said they were going to add so many new things. i think the only thing that's scale form is the main menu and the /fps command. why do i type like this
  4. Aeronauts adventures? don't say that, i'm not suppose to advertise here!1!1!!!!!
  5. maybe i wanted to activate my Parallel Parking(beta) feature on my 4x4. don't judge me.
  6. i'm not sure how many ways i can reconstruct the point i was trying to make. and im confused on what you're trying to say on the rest of your post. my point is it's a good experience for someone who wants to "fix the game" to go through the early levels because that's something that literally every player goes through and would allow for a better perspective on something they might not normally get if they started straight from 255. but they've already clarified that they do have "fresh" accounts and accounts that are "maxed out". so im basically stating the obvious now. i'm not sure how not playing from ground zero wouldn't be beneficial for someone attempting to better the game.
  7. thanks for the response. i forgot to put the crucial phrase "I don't want to assume what the CM has or hasn't done" im sure this professional company has done it's due diligence and it feels good to be reassured. also, this came from the "revelation" that CM has a 255 boosted account. i was just giving my two cents on the obvious reasons of why it would be a good idea to start from 0. not trying to accuse anybody of anything because I still have no idea what went on
  8. aw shucks you're being way too generous. way way way too generous.
  9. i don't think anyone mentioned the letters GM. and I wouldn't consider GM's staff. they're volunteers in this game.
  10. sorry, fat fingered post attempting to try and click below the quote on phone. impossible task. i think it'd be a good practice for everyone. i would hope QA would go through the early stages as well. i mean i hope it'd be mandatory, but after that, their main job would be to assess weapon/mission balance and all the good stuff that QA should be doing. the reason why i think it's so important for the CM to do it is because you're a community manager. goes back to my point of being able to see from different perspectives and also being a fresh pair of eyes. how are you going to try and improve the game if you don't realize what 100% of the players go through, which IS the early stages of gaining rating. if there was a way to be able to map player retention based on how long they played and towards what point, i would feel quite confident to say that APB loses players around the rating 50 and under mark. could be due to an unintuitive and somewhat boring tutorial. could be the autoready mission that just throws players in without letting them know how to go through the hoops of a missions based gameplay. matchmaking putting new players against veterans who have better cars (cars give a bigger advantage than anyone actually gives them credit for), equipment, better in-game knowledge, better everything relating to playing the game longer. potential lack of official help in-game. (new players asking questions could be mocked and misled, or even ignored. i know there's some good people helping new players, but all it takes is a few bad apples for a player to never return again)
  11. could fill a graveyard with the amount of times the server dies
  12. i really wonder how much extra it would cost them in terms of storage/performance/etc.
  13. some people are missing the point badly. it's okay for them to have 255 accounts. but for the purpose of new eyes to be useful, you have to go through every aspect of the game. including the race\grind\hill\hike\journey from r15 to r255. this would be important if not mandatory for the CM to go through as they would be able to relate with incoming new players more effectively. can't expect to prepare to try and retain players if you don't understand what new players go through.
  14. this is somehow apb related and i like it
  15. there's a thing where you can sometimes accidentally create two threads.
  16. oh hey how convenient! i agree with ya. but it's unfortunate because it's two aspects you have to worry about. if you start advertising and inject more players into the game, they might not be able to handle the higher population and would leave a bad impression. the game also has a lot of areas it needs improvement and it's something you don't want to showcase to the public until it's more polished. (for example, G1 and the wasted steam launch) if you don't advertise, you only have the current population to try and gain money from. and if a large majority of players are holding their breath and their wallets from LO, it's going to prove difficult to try and improve...unless they have financial backers. but nothing of that sort has been mentioned. even the sale price of G1 to LO has been kept secret. who knows.
  17. hah, you did 3 dmg for an assist.
  18. didn't it cost more money using that method?
  19. that should never be the case. a company basically going "hey here's a free way to get some of our currency, but be careful!" isn't a good look. although i don't think they ever even warned about the suspicious/bad ones.
