  1. I know, we have this wonderful, unique customisation system and all people are concerned about is whether they can draw feminine features with it. Come on, guys. Could we elevate ourselves beyond the level of cavemen who've just found out how to draw by daubing their faeces on walls?
  2. I actually recently thought to myself that there's probably too many weapons for a 100m draw distance and sub 1 second ttk for them to be perfectly balanced, but you can't really go removing stuff people have paid money for. And the most the best weapons are free at current anyway. And also, the explosive weapons? Really man? They're not broken. They have useful niches and can be occasionally annoying to play against, but most regular weapons are better in terms of practical mission to mission usage.
  3. Is it impossible to weed the unjust from the just though? How were Matt and the new support guys able to tell there were unjust bans? There was obviously some level of record keeping that was able to tell them that, I doubt they just took players at face value when they emailed support with "I got unfair ban :(" as soon as they saw the new owners. I'd say they could theoretically go through the old bans and separate out the just from the unjust, but it would probably take an exceptionally long time, that, understandably, they don't have. It feels like a bit of a slap in the face that all these people who did cheat will get a second chance when there so many people who didn't blow their first chance despite very little incentive to play cleanly in the last 18 months or so. But ultimately, whether it screws the game or not will depend on the effectiveness of Battleye.
  4. Okay so, if we take the logic of "if you haven't done something, you don't care about it and your opinion on it is valueless" that you're expressing here, then we all better stop talking about APB completely, because I'm fairly sure none of us have been involved in the production of an online TPS lately.
  5. Maybe they just don't want that 'bad taste' you speak of plastered all over the game all the time? Maybe they it's crasse and might be potentially off-putting for some potential new players? There's more to this decision than "it's a 18+ / mature rated game, titties should be allowed everywhere". There are plenty of other places you can look at or draw feminine features.
  6. This is pretty much exactly what is going to happen, imo. The only thing is if Battleye does its job they won't cheat for very long and won't have a leg to stand on if they try and claim they were one of the false bans.
  7. Dev Package I assume is Devlar, which gave extra health, speed, Car Surfer before there was Car Surfer, and Air Control to Revoe and a couple of others for an event. Old Dev team said Air Control was shelved because you'd have to completely rebuild parts of the districts to account for the extra places you can get to with it. I think they may have pulled the code out of the game completely when Goat got into it. Don't see much else that isn't in the game in that list.
  8. Rapid 99's rushed live transcript of it: MrChan's abridged version: It is worth watching the whole thing. Matt seems very clued in.
  9. Matt gave a broad overview of what order they want to do things in the Q&A with Kempington, no dates atm: First part will be "infrastructure": - New Support & Forums - New anti-cheat - New two-factor account authentication Second part is "unification" - Bringing PC versions to Unreal 3.5 and unifying the PC & Console codebases. - Announcement on this in 1-2 weeks. - Unreal 4 is being worked on. No timescale was given on this. Third is dealing with critical mechanics. Examples mentioned during the Q&A: Weapon Balance Threat system & dethreating Prestige/Noteriety Fourth is 'minor' content patches. Clothing etc. Lastly 'major' content including a new map/district.

    Post your cars!

A practical turbodiesel wagon with shocks hard enough to give you permanent back problems. (It does make it fun to throw it around corners considering it weighs 1700kg though) "Appreciating classic" according to people who are into them. And they say this with a straight face whilst these things change hands for about 1000 euro... Reminds me how much I want a decent Sportwagon in APB
  11. Actually, you said "More likely people with rather questionable bans or bans for something else than cheating" would be unbanned. I'm pretty certain that questionable and non-cheating bans do not compromise 'most' bans (especially when Matt was specific that most people who were banned for cheating will be unbanned). Unless he clarifies / rolls back a little, my interpretation is that a lot of people who were blatant are going to get their accounts back. Start picking names of the list lads, they're probably coming back: https://ffbans.org/search/R:200-255 HappyMandy Ashley Ccoca-Colaa Shall I keep going? Ray - sorry: TankBal will probably get his old accs back. I'm not complaining per se, it is what it is, but to say 'nah it'll only be questionable bans' is inaccurate in my opinion.
  12. MattScott said in the Q&A that most players banned for cheating would be unbanned after Battleye is put in place.
  13. A few caps: I like the tattoos I have, but I feel the arms are a bit unbalanced, left is waaay busier than the right. Might do something about it next time I feel like burning another Premium code. I also have a rib tattoo that need to make an outfit for, none of my existing ones show it.
  14. Having a YouTube channel called "APB is Trash Trash" where you upload vids of yourself triggerbotting and /reporting every time you die is probably not going to help you.
  15. You do realise where most of that -300 has come from, right?
  16. Calling them stupid *snip* = a good way to get what you want.
  17. Probs. I'd prefer to keep it, personally (Altais deserved his -400), but inevitably you just end up with tit for tat dislikes which the moderation team will get sick of removing. I know I did when I GMd Football Manager Live.
  18. Any possibility of custom tagger symbols in the future? So if you shoot someone with a weapon that has the Tagger mod equipped, your own symbol appears over their head instead of the generic crosshair?
  19. Zombie, are you trying to break Altais' record from the old forum for most dislikes?
  20. Come on guys, let's not fall for the obvious sockpuppet account.

  22. EDIT: I accidentally skimmed over Rapid99's rough transcript which makes this kinda redundant, but since I've gone and done it, I might as well leave it here. Abridged version of of the Q&A for reference and for those who haven't got the time to watch it yet. I would encourage everyone to put aside 50 minutes for this at some point, it is worth it and Matt comes across very well in it, imo. Plus I might have completely misunderstood something. Timestamps are from the recording on Kemp's twitch channel: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/265424620?t=05s @ 3:36 - Cheat detection Battleye will be introduced in "the very next patch". FF will be retained in the background, but will not be automatically banning. FF not tuned in APB for over a year because G1 couldn't pay for it. Matt can say from sitting in with support that there "unequivocally" were improper bans. "A majority" of the playerbase will be unbanned. The bulk of bans for cheating will be undone. This will not happen immediately, it will happen after Battleye is introduced. Bans will not be broadcast. Matt considers the practice toxic. Banned players can still post on forums whilst the ban policy is being worked out. Not clear if this is a permanent plan. @11:23 - Rough Roadmap First part will be "infrastructure": - New Support & Forums - New anti-cheat - New two-factor authentication Second part is "unification" - Bringing PC versions to Unreal 3.5 and unifying the PC & Console codebases. - Announcement on this in 1-2 weeks. - Unreal 4 is being worked on. No timescale was given on this. Third is dealing with critical mechanics. Fourth is 'minor' content patches. Clothing etc. Lastly 'major' content including a map. @16:36 - ARMAS / Microtransactions Matt does not consider APB pay 2 win, but there is a pay 2 win stigma. No plan to change the fundemental economic model of the game. Matt would personally like to bring the ARMAS pricing down. He thinks the excessive prices could contribute to the p2w stigma. Considering putting some current ARMAS-only items into contact progression. @ 19:26 - New Code of Conduct (nekkidness!!!) Greater GM presence. Wants it to be interactive rather than policing per se. No place for nudity in APB No hate & racically inappropriate symbols to be allowed either @22:03 - Dethreating / Threat System Threat considered part of the 'critical mechanics' to be dealt with. Needs to be reworked or possibly rebuilt from scratch. Matt finds the ability to track your matchmaking level / progress over a short time problematic. Threat changes should take longer or the ability to exploit it should be removed. @23:50 - Kemp goes for a slash and Matt reads chat. @24:55 - Devstream / Devblog / Future Q&As. Matt's enthusiastic about things like this Wants to do more Open Letters, possibly vLogs, etc. @26:12 - Login screen & music Wants to bring it back, but needs to check the legal situation on the old music Doesn't think we need a 'loading screen to get to a loading screen' @27:34 - Performance & optomisation on consoles Wants to work on this, feels its long overdue Will be worked on during both the 'unification' and 'critical mechanics' stages @29:20 - Purchasable ignore list extensions Feels charging for an ignore list expansion is the wrong approach Ignore list can't be infinite, but will seek to increase it from its current level for free @31:19 - Prestige / Noteriety system Falls under 'critical mechanics' Griefing in-mission players general needs to be tweaked / re-designed to eliminate the 'feel bad' moments @32:55 - Character server transfers Technically problematic, especially with APB's level of customisation Wants to allow it Han server placement was mis-handled, hoping to give Han players the ability to migrate to Jericho Nekrova more problematic with unique content, but still wants to find a way to balance it to allow migration to Citadel @35:57 - Trading system Wants to add one Can be a problem in terms of third-parties involving themselves in the APB economy Also opens up the possibility Credit Card fraud / laundering Trade System might be locked to above a certain level if implemented to combat this @39:12 - Competitive Scene Can't answer directly on the stream It is being discussed and he does see a place for it in APB @40:18 - Refer a Friend Loves the idea of RaF, but it has to be handled correctly On the table to be looked at in the future to re-grow the playerbase @41:43 - KttC bans These will be reversed @43:32 - Joker Boxes Rewards will be non-tradable to make the JMBs compliant May reduce price of JMBs in the future to compensate @45:16 - Shaders / Advanced Launcher "Slippery slope" Crosshair options & low config modes should be made avaialble in game Recommended players not use the Advanced Launcher until they've tested it against Battleye @48:45 Acknowledged the Fallen Earth players @49:15 - Weapon balance Weapons are fairly well balanced with some exceptions Wants to avoid a heavy-handed approach Weapon balance is overdue, however @51:04 - Daily / Seasonal Events Will do their best to get to this, but it's a little further down the roadmap
  23. Pretty sure Support said in as many words that it was against the old CoC too, they clearly could not enforce it.
  24. He said it'll be after the next patch when Battleye is put in. I don't really agree with giving cheaters a second chance, I think it's a cop-out for people who don't need a second chance because they didn't blow their first one yet. And it's clear from what he said about sitting in on support tickets and discovering that there have been unfair bans that they have the records to judge whether an existing ban was right or not. So I'd prefer they deal with the bans case by case and only unban the unfair ones. But tbf, maybe they won't have the resources to do that. If Battleye is effective, it won't negatively effect the game ultimately.
