While I didn't participate in the 4x4 events I know people that did and it was fun for a decent sized amount of the community. Those community events never did happen in a normal district, always the unpopulated gold districts at a set date and time of the week. Realistically, the OOB change killed the fun for that community and subsequently may have removed a reason for some people to log on and hang out in a non PVP way outside of just chatting in social. Also the OOB change brought about a lot of bugs at the time and it really just looked like G1 liked making pointless work for themselves and at the same time killing a fringe community for the sake of it. Another example of no fun allowed G1 I've seen was with the old totem pole glitch that dopefish made a video about. I think he stacked up 50 or more guys. It wasn't gamebreaking for mission balance at all just silly fun. But as soon as G1 saw that, they went nope, patched the silly glitch that no one asked for, introduced goomba stomping that no one asked for and brough all the bugs along with it that still happen to this day, like when you get out of a car that has flipped and you all kill yourselves. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/49045311?filter=highlights&sort=time Rambling but yeah, OOB was a mistake honestly. So heavy handed.

I remember the topic too. The old community manager asked the community what were the most cancer spots at the time and the reloaded team would do their best to improve the area while using their own input along with the community suggestions. It is long overdue for another round of that, post engine update.

Spamming F too fast on cars or anything that makes an animation teleports you into the skybox for a few seconds

haha I noticed too, I'm sure they didn't log on again after all the veterans of the game destroyed them 100 times over with the current matchmaking.

summit1g plays the basically stagnant game Sea of Thieves. He explodes in popularity again. The game gets a resurgence in popularity and the game is actually growing again after its dismal launch and now it has all other top streamers trying to leach off summit's and Sea of thieves success. Now it's at the top of twitch. I think summit had 80k viewers on that game last night. Remember how everyone hated Sea of Thieves at launch? Look at it now. Can it happen to APB? eh I dunno. But it's basically free advertising and you're delusional (or live under a rock) to think it wouldn't affect the game population given how much twitch and youtube dominate game visibility these days.

Like I said, it's not for people like you. It's for people that you class as lazy or people that simply don't have the time and/or know-how.

There was a short moment in time with last year or 2017 where buying an alienware was cheaper than building it yourself. This was due to GPU and RAM parts that Dell secured with their alienware builds being price locked before the surge in demand for GPUs with bitcoin mining and all that. That was quite surreal actually. Either way, not sure why people moan about alienwares still, the demographic is clearly marketed at people that have the money but not the time or knowledge to build one themselves. If they had the knowledge of PC Gaming they could easily paid for a custom boutique build but constantly wondering why rich people are buying alienwares is silly, there's a clearly a market for people with money, no time on their hands along with a lack of expertise. Even if you say building is easy, it requires a lot of research on whats compatible, lots of video or text guides and it is actually intimidating the first time.

Oh you posted here too, I'll just post my response in this thread here too. "To be honest, while you have a point that they're exploits those things don't take much effort for anyone thats willing to learn it to master it. With mission timers being a low as they are and ttk being as low as it is every single mobility trick is beneficial. Normal players can learn how to do it easily and that in itself is a skill. Some of the best bugs were not fixed in other games and they became features in upper ends of competitive play. One bug/exploit that springs to mind is Counter Strike's bunny hopping is one bug that could have easily been neutered but valve kept it and it's still here to this day and seen in pro league play." https://forums.gamersfirst.com/topic/7320-state-of-the-game-apb-2018/?do=findComment&comment=91759

Come on dude, recent post counts is the main benchmark for you? Given my lack of content on yt and twitch it would also say I am not that active. Honestly I just post less on the forums because I just don't need to, a lot of threads just turn into shit posting, drama or its really the same threads over and over again. If you want me to be honest here, after the weapon balance. I thought at the time instead of posting on the various threads I'd just PM matt with my thoughts. Which wasn't really about weapon balance, more about trying not to change too much now because you're bound to piss off large numbers of the playerbase with big changes to the meta. Rather than weapon changes, I gave some other things in the game in the game people are tired of (like bugs, mission balance etc) it's better to focus on areas that are bound to make players happy. Weapon balance its just so tricky at the moment honestly and if you're trying to drum up hype for the engine update its probably best to leave the stale meta as it is, if we can wait almost 5 years we could wait a few months. So funnily enough he read my PM, talked a bit. A few months later here we are. Obviously he checked I've been on APB since Q3 2009 (heavy hitters) I've been on this game since forever. I don't post on the forums much, I don't play much, I am not even that good at all anymore, I am really just busy with work and trying to fit in some other games apart from APB these days but that doesn't negate what I know or have experienced on my time on this game with 3 different owners now. I still very very care for the game as it has taken up a huge chunk of my life (and my wallet). Now I wasn't one of the best people on the old SPCT, I am hoping to see some brought back as they were very much a great help back in the day. I also still notice a few very old names on the forums, names that I have seen since the old heavy hitters days that I know have good insight. Hope some more of that criteria are brought back as that would make me feel less bad. What I am trying to say is there are other ways to get noticed.

1. Remove MFA first to be safe but I would honestly just use a phone app not chrome addons or a PC auth app. 2. Any authenticator should work, I put mine on my phone using the app "Authy". You could use google auth or microsoft auth apps etc etc Authy has the added benefit of being able to use it on multiple devices and can be restored if you lose your phone.

Severe issues that -need- to be addressed
Shini replied to Virgil's topic in General Discussion Archive
Those complaints are pretty much what I expect from a vet. I agree with the whole thing and they all need addressing. Personally think missions need addressing as a priority in my opinion. With desync bug being the most annoying -

I really don't care enough to create alt accounts to win some really petty forum battle. Quit being triggered dude.

Me? Wasn't me. And obscure? Not really, it's a really well known meme in the CSGO community and general esports meme. This community does have some overlap with both of those topics and well, we're all gamers. So no, i really wouldn't say its obscure. Why you being serious anyway lol. My comment was a meme in itself.

Premium vs non Premium players, rewards needs changing?
Shini replied to TooStrong's topic in General Discussion Archive
Personally...i think the cool down times on mods for premium should be given to free players since it kinda does effect direct gameplay. Compensate that by increasing the standing gains for leveling contacts while premium. Money increase should remain the same as it is now. Customization benefits remain the same as they are now. Basically anything that influences gameplay can be seen as p2w, even if its slight it should be removed. -
LO first legendary ... looks like zero effort.

The secondary isn't out of this world. Literally just came out on siege too a few months ago. Called the Baliff on that game, again based on the Judge - http://rainbowsix.wikia.com/wiki/Bailiff_410 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJOwiozWZpc
