Comeback and words of gratitude <3
Nessie replied to Nerima's topic in Breakwater Galleria (Creations/Fan Art)
APB is one of these games that offer a unique social environment. Guns can be inbalanced, server can be trash lagging, hackers can be rampant. But you won't find another game with that much faction play and world freedom -
Will APB ever be what RTW intended it to be?
Nessie replied to myrothas's topic in General Discussion Archive
I feel like the game is fine as it is by development. It does not need to add more stuff, maps or anything, the game is already complete as it is now. Heck, there is a ton of fake weapon reskins that could be easily remvoed to improve the gun balance since right now there is too many to do anything working enough. What the game really needs, and G1 always failed to achieve, was a good new player introduction, advertisement and, most importantly, cheater detection. Reduce the cheaters and improve the new players tutorial, and you will see the game at peak success again. You are not bored from the lack of content. You really are bored from playing always with the same 15 hardtriers, rerolls and cheaters, with the occasional random ragequitting after two missions. -
Holy what a bad graphic How is people even asking for engine upgrade when they can't run the game at default settings?

Autumn Assault skins have been awarded
Nessie replied to MattScott's topic in General Discussion Archive
Is this supposed to be award to everyone who logged in during the two weeks of event or exactly during the 1 hour of actual event time? Because I received nothing ._. -
I don't think it's fair to compare with a massive company with an incredibly good reputation such as Wargaming. There is no care about the NDA because the devs themself post often all the informations about their current works and plans, leaving nothing to be guessed.
-
Just a note, but I feel like this whole SPCT idea while useful (all games should have dedicated testers) is being handled wrong. Forum role alone is breaking apart the community, sort of "elevating" said members from the rest of the community when, in fact, they are exactly like everyone else. I agree it is very important to announce now that a SPCT team is being created (it's a nonsense to keep it secret) but there is no need to specifically indicate the names. Especially since you talk about NDA, giving the names means we can now directly bother them to unofficially update us on upcoming changes. BTW, what are the new registered players going to think? Whenever they will see a "SPCT" role posting on the forums with a comment, without any indication of their real role anybody sane will think of it as a moderator or a community rapresentative. Which is false and only abusable.
-
If the SPCT has so little impact what was the point to publically create a role on the forums? It entirely misleads the purpose of the team and provides no use other than create a target for griefers to harass and blame issues on others.
-
So... what is exactly the role of the SPCT team? Give feedback on the game just like the whole community does already?

Should we give out the Autumn Assault skin?
Nessie replied to MattScott's topic in General Discussion Archive
It is only a skin. Like, most players don't even have the game graphics set high enough to notice it. I don't mind if it was given away toe verybody, because the prize was not the problem. The point of the event was to have fun, not winning a forgettable skin, and I feel like the fun part was failed. I appreciate there is an attempt to make up for the mistakes, I hope that you understand it is way more important to improve the enjoyment of the game, and not just give away little treats and believe nothing wrong happened. -
Hey. Event is over. Now it's time to fix your mess.
Nessie replied to Mitne's topic in General Discussion Archive
To each their own! I don't need to explain my life to you. Just to keep it simple, I had a business trip taking away 10 days of that event. On the other days I would get home exactly when the event was finished. I had only a weekend in which I could access it if life wasn't more of a priority, and anyway, sadly weekend network is often too bad for me to play. This still doesn't excuse how a limited time event is a bullshoot plan for the players. -

Well you don't get a day off work just to play a game at a specific hour don't you? -
Hey. Event is over. Now it's time to fix your mess.
Nessie replied to Mitne's topic in General Discussion Archive
I mean, at least you people could play in it. Thanks to the amazing smart patootie idea of LO to make the event exclusively at a fixed hour (and the even more shameful lie about changing times to allow more players to play which was never done), I didn't even have a chance to try the mode, let alone win any skin. -
APB would have been a top mmo game... 6 years ago. Now it's late. By the time all the "If that, if this" are completed, the game won't even be supported anymore on most pcs. Even now I am struggling to make the game run well with my pc.
-
How come regardless of how badly this event was made THERE STILL HAS NOT BEEN A SINGLE WORD ABOUT CHANGING THE START TIME? How smart must be to make an event during work hours?
-
Why there is still no answer about providing a different time schedule for all players trying this mode? A whole week has passed already!
-
Any news on changing the event schedule? It's still annoying to not be able to play it. Trying to show up in the weekend doesn't really help, as it pretty much makes the event available only a couple of times then...

Sure, just wait for the engine upgrade! By 2014 it will be released with Dynamic Virtual Reality Graphic and Holografic 3D Environment Projection systems. Game is old. It won't get upgraded graphics. The only way to do that is work on an entirely new game from grounds up, but apparently there is never a company with enough resources to invest into that. Get your soul at peace, APB is and will die the way you have it now. At max, it will get worse performance with the passing time.

best things to do while you have premium?
Nessie replied to foscor77's topic in General Discussion Archive
Honestly the only thing you should do with premium as it lasts is customize your character/vehicles. There is no other bonus to that. The added RP and Money you win from missions can be compensated just by playing, but the designer limitations cannot. -
An idea to possibly make Reaper viable
Nessie replied to DouglasFalcon's topic in General Discussion Archive
Why not just making the silencer a worth mod again? If they manage tog et the tracers working again with the new engine and improve the "off radar" function of a silencer, it would become an actual good weapon. Less speed and range in change of stealthyness. -
I feel like the only way to make this event fair is to make it happen at different times per day. Giving a fixed hour for all days is just a bad idea which cuts off everyone else who cannot play at that hour.
-
I don't see what is the reason of changing the skin prize. Was it because of the very few complaines about "exclusivity"? You really listened to them after giving away all the other exclusive items and even putting them on armas marketplace already? Man, I do appreciate you listening to the community, but you really should think up better these decisions before making them in effect. Btw, 5 PM on Citadel is way off-limit during the weekdays, anybody who works in EU is still at work by that time.
-
Sooo... for people like me, who work all day and can spend only a hour at the pc, means I have little to no chance to play the event at all, let alone win the top prize?
-
what sort of company do you think Little Orbit will be?
Nessie replied to Aeronaut's topic in General Discussion Archive
G1 was a decaying mess. LO is a new, inexperienced but active company trying to make the right choices. They do mistakes, they mess up things, but overal they do good. The problem, though, is that G1 started the same way when it bought the game from Real Worlds. -
Wow and Final Fantasy are pretty special snowflakes which: 1. fall into a different game category (MMORPGs) and 2. received massive content updates over the years to keep up. APB can't even remotely compare to that, which puts it at the same level of the thousands of other games that became obsolete. The issue is that in case of other games, the makers smartly close it before it's too late and move up onto the next project.
