Not to single out Jericho, by any means ... but as this is the only server that I have access/visibility on, I will stick "with what I know"... If the same is happening on Citadel... so be it ... , Citadel players can add to this thread, and confirm here. Over the last few days , Jericho players have received some "impromptu" broadcasts, in game. that a; "Server Wide Shutdown" will commence in 10min. This has happen on Jericho a few times that I have been on in the last 3-5 days. I am not complaining. If this is what needs to happen .. then ... "do what you gotta do".. I am only asking for some feedback, and perhaps some public info for the populace. Questions: 1) What was the determining factor for the Server Restarts during the week ? What data was collected that prompted a determination for this response ? Most of us know, that the current netcode is somewhat "borked" ... (btw... that is a very old word ... lol ) 2) During these periods where a "Restart" was advised, what was the determining factor ? - Memory - CPU - Storage - Network - Other 3) Not sure what metrics are being gathered during this time, It usually falls under the primary 4 areas: - CPU - Memory - Storage - Network Over the last few weeks, as impromptu "Restarts" have been initiated, has this been an opportunity for the DEV team to collect any significant data, to help isolate the issues .. We are all just looking for a bit more info ... \ Regards Westford

.............. and Little Orbit refuses to take action I missed this. I was not aware that LO is refusing to address this. Did they not mentioned in an earlier post that they were aware of this issue ? From the Q&A posted on the APB Blog dated 5/25/2018: 5. De-threating. Will you be looking to tackle this phenomenon, if so how? Will changes to the threat system be made to assist this? At the end of the day, this comes down to proper matchmaking and creating fair fights. This is one of those long standing systems that needs to be changed. I want to dig in more deeply, but we are committed to better matchmaking. Source: https://apbreloaded.gamersfirst.com/2018/05/two-week-update-q-notes-from-my-stream.html Don't think they said anywhere, that they are "refusing to take action".. Maybe I misinterpreted.

Appreciate the feedback, I went ahead and bought one ,,,, lol. You're input most definitely helped ...

Thanks for the quick feedback. One unusual caveat is that with my ALIG, I am using a High-Mag Scope, which has some advantages, but also disadvantages. On the N-SSW, I am using HS3. So although the N-SSW is classified as an LMG, you believe the performance of this weap is more in line with a sub-par NTEC ? I think that's what you're saying.
-
I currently have a perm ALIG 762 R&D III which I do like very much. Granted that this weap is somewhat situational, but still effective under the right circumstances I tried out N-SSW 74 Kraken the other day, as a 3 day trial via email. I liked it so much, I went ahead and leased a N-SSW 74 Dvah from the Joker Store, to further my evaluation time. With the current LO promotions .... aka Premium for 6 days, discount on ARMAS, I was actually thinking of buying the N-SSW 74 Dvah. Question: Is the N-SSW 74 Dvah really worth it ? I mean , compared to the ALIG (which I currently own), is there much of a difference (other than the skin and some meta differences) to make the purchase. Reaching out here to the well informed to provide some insight. BTW... I am not a CQC type of player, more mid to long range if that makes a difference. ALIG 762 R&D II: _________________________________________________________________________________________ N-SSW 74 Dvah: Appreciate any thoughts. EDIT: Had to reedit, as the previous image hosting site was not working.

Clarification on Fight Club comments
Westford replied to MattScott's topic in General Discussion Archive
Very happy to hear that Fight Club is not going away. When I play APB, it is mostly FC Baylan, if Baylan is empty, I go to Asylum. Playing solo, I rarely go into missions. (PUB group play is mehh.) Curious what "Riot" mode is gonna be. If it's a BR type game mode, I'll probably pass, not my thing. Anyways, here's to future content. Question: I remember at one time in Baylan, there use to be different game modes other than Death Match. Not item holds, but 3 location holds. Now a days it is just DM in Baylan. I always wondered why these were removed. Question 2: Why is there an extra "Line Feed", "Carriage Return" after every line ? These Line Feeds are not displayed while editing ... -
Balance changes beyond weapons (grenades/deployables)
Westford replied to mojical's topic in General Discussion Archive
For those players who use Flac Jacket, low yield grenades are the best option, so you can still hold 2 in your inv. For all other grenades when wearing Flac Jacket, (Percs, Concs & Frags) you are limited to just 1. -
Community GM'S will basically be SPCM
Westford replied to Iodyne's topic in General Discussion Archive
I too, had thought seriously, about submitting my application. I found myself twice, ready to hit the send button. As I pondered this conflict internally, I happened to be watching a re-run of the Jerry Springer Show. Well, that was it for me. Yes, I walked away ... As much as I would like to participate with the progress development of this game (and I do feel this way very strongly), I do not believe that my patience would have lasted more than 2-3 months. I am a fair and tolerant person, but LO needs a GM more than just fair & tolerant. My hats off & Kudos to our community members that did apply, and for those that are chosen. -

I will admit that I don't keep a "tally" of sorts. But, yes, your estimates are accurate. -

Some had suggested in a different post, for LO to at least broadcast a number. (not names) Although a player banned is a player lost, a monthly broadcast as to the number of lost players might provide the remaining players some reassurance, that LO is on "Track", and due diligence is active, concerning 3rd Party apps. -

Well, I read the post. And will admit, he did touch upon a few sensattive areas. I hate reading well constructed, articulated "Good Bye" posts. .... cause, he does have a point. -
Considering that neither G1 or now, LO, have ever offered any hardware (Monitor/Keyboard/Mouse), to accompany the software service that they provide, that anything outside of the "delivered product".. ie, the "Software Service", that potentially changes the gaming experience, is not intended or provided by the software service publisher. Hence, "outside" of the "delivered product". That's my understanding at least. As far as the OS, whether it is Windows 10, Linux or what have you, is that not the platform for the service to run ? // Check the Minimum & Recommended Requirements. I believe that was a Requirement and did not modify/enhance the "delivered product". I could be wrong. Maybe Windows 10 does provide outside options, other than Resolution....
-
I could be wrong, but the "delivered product", is the software service ... ie ; APB:R . How one accesses that service is up to them. From the Steam APB store page, the Minimum & Recommended Requirements. It does not mention either a Monitor/Keyboard or Mouse. Nice catch..
-
I suppose one interpretation from Matt's statement concerning changes to the "delivered product", is that any changes that might be sanctioned, (other than the "Advanced Launcher"), would be available to all, via the in-game menu options. Features that LO would like to add. Anything outside of the "delivered product" is not sanctioned. (with the exception of Voice COMM & Advanced Launcher) So all these questions concerning AHK/Auto-it /Custom Crosshairs / Overlays /Custom Configs.... etc, would be considered outside of the "delivered product". Just my understanding.

I too, would have opted to saved the lasagna. Hope they find a cure for this in short order. -
Matt, Very much appreciate the detailed updates that your team has been providing, and the progress your team has made. It shows ... The fact that you had in other posts, articulated Little Orbits immediate objectives; · Performance · Anti-Cheat · Matchmaking Has been a confirmation for many in the playerbase, that your team is committed to; · Player Retention · Fair & Competitive gaming experience · Future Content Just to add a thought; There have been many questions posted related to; · Macros (either software AutoIt/ AutoHotkey or hardware mouse/keyboard) · Overlay Crosshairs · Boderland Shaders (3 different versions I believe) · Different Shaders · Modifiying certain .ini files External changes (outside of the delivered product), to provide, a different experience, other than 3rd party Voice COMM software. As of now, the “Advanced Launcher” is the only non-APB service/product that has been approved by your team. You have made it clear, that there are some “features” that LO would like to incorporate into the APB game, so as ALL, have access (And we are all on the same Playing Field), without the use of any 3rd party products or services to enhance our gaming experience. I look forward to the future changes in the coming year. Regards

Coming from "someone who's been there" , appreciate you providing this input.

Haha..hey @Revised. My color threat is exactly where it should be. I would say I am an average player at best. Which would be expected considering the limited amount of weekly playtime in game. I thought it was obvious from my "outrageous" comments that started this thread, that I was "puffing" the proverbial chest, but apparently I had touched upon the sensibilities of some. I'm guessing it was the "true Golds (™)" to be exact that failed to see the ridiculousness in my post. A hard lesson for me to be sure. I will practice a bit more civility in any future posts, and not purposely attempt at eliciting negative emotions. Again, I was puffing. Some people do take this game very seriously, more seriously than myself to be sure, so my apologies to anyone that I offended. Myself, I do enjoy the game, but admit I don't take it too seriously. I have already sent a message yesterday to go ahead and lock the thread, I'm sure they will get to it at some point. I will say that there has been some decent perspectives articulated on different play styles... Thank you @Zascha, and yes, the current threat system and matchmaking definitely needs some work. But this thread is really done. EDIT: I am seriously considering changing my avatar. Perhaps something like this.
