We - Fox, myself and Themis (a friend from another cop clan, who sometimes joins us on patrol) - saw a lot of open world crime action yesterday, hunting down our most favourite criminal Sufe, teamed up with one of his pals. Some great car and foot chases and epic shootouts ensued (a lot of the responding officers ended up in the ICU this time). Big thank you to Sufe and his friend for giving us a real challenge this time!

@FirstCommander - Thanks for adding Foxtail's video to the clan channel! Fox and I had a pretty fun evening yesterday, filled with some very high speed pursuits in an otherwise empty Waterfront (Gold) district, chasing our three most favorite (illegal) street racers Sufe, Shawnna and heysie. Talk about fast when trying to catch up to these three rascals (even when they decide to drive unmodded cars). Thank you guys for some epic action (we really wish there would be more criminals like you out there interested in chases and RP)!

A few more variations for the police hat might be nice to have (since not all police forces wear the same styled hat depicted in game at the moment) a dress hat with a round crown WW2 style crush cap a Canadian Mountie style hat state trooper hat and a non-shiny version of the short-sleeved police uniform shirt. Alas the currently in-game version has problems with darker colours, making it look more like velvet or a similar shiny looking fabric, thus making it practically useless if you are going for a dark coloured police uniform look.

I could not agree more - very well done video, Fox! Was a slow evening all around, with almost zero open world crime going on and the bronze districts, were lag-fests filled with silver/golds shredding lower ranks and beginners. So we opted out of that madness and did that "photo-shoot" on an empty server. It was far from certain if the low-resolution pictures we run the game at would even work, but Fox managed to add some additional detail in post processing. It would have been awesome if some of our other members would also have had time to drop by (even though doing such a shooting is a time consuming process), but alas everyone seemed to have been busy with RL that night (and since it was an adhoc thing there was no way to get word out in time). @FirstCommander - Fox said you should go ahead and upload it to our channel (that way it is easier to embed it directly here on the forum), thanks mate! @Nastibe - I laughed so hard when Fox showed me your hilariously funny RP answer to the ticket notification he send you. Especially the thing with Waterfront cracked me up. Brilliant!

Yesterday evening (due to the fact that not much was going on) we opted for another "training day" with myself again posing as suspect, pitched against LAPD Squad officers First Commander, Foxtail and Rivielle. As suspect I did not only commit different types of (open world) crimes but also displayed a variety of different behaviours, thus offering our officers ever changing tactical situations, which they had to adapt to (as they never knew how the suspect they encountered would react). We had some epic car as well as foot chases all over the Financial District, including some very intense shootouts (which in some instances played out more like a tactical shooter than the usual arcade-APB-style gameplay). I am quite proud to say that our clan's officers worked extremely well together and did a marvelous job, since I did not manage to make any clean getaway, despite my utmost efforts. I reckon that in about 98% of the incidents that evening the suspect was successfully arrested, while roughly 2% ended with the suspect either in the ICU of a hospital or the morgue (thought the latter cases were all my own and "lag's" fault and not due to any misuse of deadly force by the responding officers). If I remember correctly the casualties on the officer's side was one officer shot while another one died in an explosion (very unlucky, as it happened while she was diving past an exploding vehicle in her already damaged squad car). Considering the large number of calls the officers responded to and how many ended with shots fired I think, while not ideal, it can be seen as a very good result. All in all a great and very fun evening and we surely will have more of these "training days" in the future. If there are any criminals, or criminal clans, out there that are interested in roleplaying and like to participate in some of our RP and training-scenarios just let us know.

Yes was indeed a lot of fun getting chased by Fox and Sufe (even though the lag I did encounter on my end was 10-times of horrible for some reason), who displayed an uncanny ability to predict my escape routs and, with Fox close on my 6, the two managed to arrest me more times than I was able to make a clean getaway. Makes me glad I did not ditch my little criminal as that way we always have the option to go for some custom chases, shootouts, tactical situations and arrests whenever there is no open world crime going on and everyone else seems to be only doing missions.

@ViolaDeWynter - Thank you very much for also fighting the "good fight" on several fronts so to speak and gathering support to beat the pandemic. It is, after all, very much a team effort and the more people do this the better the result! @FirstCommander - Nice job, did not expect that you were recording the event from a cop's point of view! Think we did not do too badly (but we could have used a few more boots on the ground and a bit more preparation time to block and clear the traffic more efficiently).
-
@FirstCommander - Great work on the LAPD livery for your new cars mate! @Nastibe - Yup hopefully we won't have issues again like yesterday evening (a power outage due to a thunderstorm and a lot of disconnects afterwards) -------------------------------------------------------- @all - And now for something completely different: Due to the rising death toll and number of infected people around the world, we have gone ahead and added the following to our first posting: - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - G a m e r s v e r s u s C O V I D - 1 9 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - We did so in the hope to inspire fellow gamers around the globe to join in the fight against the pandemic. Social distancing, wearing masks in public and being mindful of washing and disinfecting your hands does prevent the further spread of the virus. It might seem trivial, but with those few, easy to do steps you can not only do a vital part but actually safe lives! So please join the "Gamers versus Covid-19" movement and thus kick some virus-butt. Thank you!

@Nastibe - And thank you mate for those awesome chases. We also all laughed hard when we saw that brilliant tag you sprayed - hilarious! @FirstCommander - Yey, for another great patrol video - thanks mate for sharing! So glad you captured that one arrest as the whole thing looked great from my vantage point just down the road.
-
@ViolaDeWynter Thanks, this is much appreciated. As FirstCommander said you are very welcome to ride out on patrol with us if you feel like doing so. @FirstCommander - Prime work, as usual on the new HKPD car and uniform! And thank you for taking the time to make all those patrol videos and sharing them. Sufe sure knows how to drive, it is amazing how he always manages to evade us cops and slip away eventually (even with a normal car). One definitely sees a lot of the town when chasing him. I do agree though that the mission time is sadly way too short and usually expires just when things get interesting. @Fenton - Good to see you & nice job on the HKPD car and uniform as well!
-
@FirstCommander - Thanks for making and sharing those patrol videos! It is very interesting to see things unfold again and watch our teamwork in taking those bad guys down.
-
@FirstCommander: Nice job, might not be original for the customs branch but sure looks hardcore - in fact it reminds me of the Belgian tactical police units (Directie van de speciale eenheden / Direction des unités spéciales / Direktion der Sondereinheiten) or the French BRI (Brigade de recherche et d'intervention) guys, which where prominently featured on the international news during the 2015 terrorist attacks. Thanks for posting the video as well - was fun watching you on patrol and chasing down those criminals.

Surprisingly, there was a lot of open world crime going on yesterday evening, which made the latest patrol with Officer FirstCommander, Officer Foxtail, LAPDSquad-Rookie JustinSider and myself quite an adventure. For example: We had a nice hot pursuit after a break-in, ending in a truly epic shootout - leading to the violent death of quite a few of our officers - with two very determined criminals. Which, despite the losses on our end, was loads of fun.

Fix for performance problems at prototype gungame.

@USPStyle: Just wanted to say "Thank You!" for putting together that launcher. It helped me (and quite a few other people I know) run the game for many years now, despite low end equipment. -
@FirstCommander: Very nice job on recreating that Douane van, FirstCommander! I am sure it will serve us well in bringing all the seized loot safely to the evidence vault. @Mehdiitrickz: To the contrary, RP does work very well the way we do it and this way - as an additional perk - we do not have to endure any of those players who love to squeal their lungs out during gameplay

Do not want to derail the thread too much, but I always wondered why "repairing" a vehicle at the gas station does not seem to cost anything (at least I never seem to be able to see any price tag for that action). Would it not be better - as a money sink - to add something like a (reasonable) repair price for vehicles, which should be considerably lower than respawning a new vehicle (which in turn should cost a lot more than it does currently in my humble opinion). That way repairing - and thus maintaining a vehicle - would make more sense and add some king of a little meta-game. Otherwise people just spawn their best vehicles, regardless since it practically costs peanuts (play a mission and you practically get enough cash to spawn loads of cars).
-
Was fun patrolling the streets yesterday with you and Fox, even more so as the entire get together was completely unplanned... *lol* ...we definitely have to do this a bit more often again (as time and circumstances allow).
-
Thanks for the insight mate, much appreciated!
-
Not sure if that has been addressed elsewhere already, but I do wonder: Will Battleeye be a problem for those of us, who have old computers and thus have to rely on the use of the "APB advanced launcher" to get the game working on their "potatoes"?
-
@Lebowi - Hey there, thanks for posting and welcome back to the game! Sorry that the reply took some time, but most of us are, once again, back to a level of normality and busy with RL and work. In any case to answer your question: We only play on the EU server (Citadel), as for the ping and play-ability for US players - well, it might be best to just give it a try and see if it works on your end.
-
@FirstCommander - All good on our end mate. With things somewhat returning to a first level of normality, people are starting to be busy with RL and work again (so people are not online as much anymore). Still we had a nice little patrol just yesterday evening with Fox. I also will put up a reminder in our daily announcements today, as I noticed that some of our members seem to have suddenly forgotten, that they are supposed to use at least one LTL weapon and arrest criminals. Anyway, the biggest problem with the game currently seems to be that the APB servers are pretty much packed and maxed out these days (probably the result of a mixture between the global crisis and the announcement regarding the engine update) so the game runs somewhat unstable and lag is common place (at least on my end). Whats more the amount of "golds" and "dethreaters" is starting to be staggering again in bronze districts and players there are getting shot to pieces again and again and again. I wish they would rather do something about matchmaking instead of any engine upgrade, since being matched against golds and dethreaters makes for a horrible game play experience and is driving away new players quicker than anything. Hope to catch you in game soon - until then stay safe and take care mate!

@Creator20204 We have tried to catch you online, but as of yet no luck.

Make and option to disable or control the volume of Death Themes
StevenDeckard replied to EzOn3's topic in Game
Could not agree more - a way to disable music would be much appreciated. The same goes for having to endure the often incredibly loud and annoying music players often have blasting out of their vehicles - if they want to have music playing in their cars fine but do not force it on others please! -
Yesterday I run into a group on Citadel (EU Server) all dressed up in full SS uniforms (of course with all associated Nazi regalia clearly displayed). Worse was that one of them had even created an Adolf Hitler lookalike character! I have also come across openly displayed words of high praise for Adolf Hitler and the Nazi regime on vehicles in APB on several instances in the past, plain text that unmistakably glorifies and applauds the Nazi regime, Nazi figures and Nazi crimes, so there is no mistaking what that person meant to say and proclaim! While true that swastikas, letters of the runic alphabets (or even the infamous Hitler salute) were appropriated by the Nazi regime, to use any of these symbols in a certain way - even in mirrored or slightly changed versions - still denotes and in the process glorifies the Nazi regime. This is clearly shown by the fact that practically everyone that comes across something like that in APB immediately recognizes these things as being Nazi flags, Nazi uniforms and Nazi figures and perceives them as such! Producing such decals and putting then on vehicles and clothing and even going to the length of recreating infamous Nazi figures as characters is a conscious act and no mistake, especially since this is not a WW2 themed game. Something like this has, in my humble opinion, NO place in this game! Here are some legal considerations regarding this matter for interested members:

We've put together a short list of the most important LAPD radio codes that we commonly use during RPing. It was added to the first posting in this tread as a reference for all of us to use. Note that while there are many more types of crime going on in APB, we only have included those codes & corresponding crimes that enforcers are able to "witness" and thus start an official mission against the criminal (i.e. allowing cirminals to be arrested by police, and criminals in turn being able to harm the responding police officers).
