/fps eats up 50% of the frames

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone.

On the 14th I decided to update the drivers of my AMD video card to version 18.9.1. By evening, I found a drawdown in the frame rate. The next day (today) I started to understand what the problem is. Rearranged RAM modules, reinstalled drivers for the video card (tried versions 18.9.1 and 18.5.1). Nothing helped. But then I began to measure the FPS with the help of Steam and saw with FPS all right. I tried to run /fps. And I had a frame rate drop to 50% of all FPS. Previously, this problem did not arise.

My potato PC:
CPU: Intel Q6600;
RAM: 6 GB
GPU: Sapphire HD7770 GHz Edition.
OS: Windows 10 Pro.

I understand perfectly that the computer is old, but as I described above, in past were no problems with the drawdown.
In the screenshots in the upper left corner you can see the Steam frame counter. Also recorded a small video comparison.ACzkIY14dyM.jpg

Interesting. It's normal that it eats a couple of frames but I've never had this.

You also gain a massive FPS boost if you turn off your hud.

It's hard to play that way though.

It's a huge difference in events and fightclub. I barely get 80fps in a full fightclub, but with the HUD off it's 140+.

Hey guys,

I finally reinstalled Windows and I understood what the problem is. The problem is on my motherboard or processor. I'm preparing to upgrade the PC.

Sorry for the misinformation.:classic_blink:

like you know what to do right ?
always easy to complain.

try to lock frames to 60
there is also a option in nvidia control panel to changes some way's to play apb
maby idea to check that maby make custom style for apb,
your pc is fine its not the hardware if i look at the specs.

i belive there are more people having problems with the sapphire thats because the drivers from the card have some issues
maby search for a fix.

support is bad at sapphire that why i never buy one xD

goodluck

Apb's UI at all eats fos a lot, just try to disable whole UI including radar, names, crosshair and your FPS will be high and stable, best place to try it is asylum
