  1. tl;dr why haven't you done literally anything productive or positive in the past 4 or however many years you've owned this game When are we going to see any? You wasted your own and everyone elses time for 4 years. How long is this "1.3" going to take? How many more years? For stuff that should've been done 4 years ago? Everyone is just as in the dark as before this most recent roadmap, just even more confused. Who makes all these decisions in the first place? Who made all the balance decisions, what influenced those decisions? Who made the anticheat decision? Who made the RIOT decision? Who made the decision to allow NA to get ddosed for weeks/months/years? Who made the West/East NA server decision compared to the central server that worked as a solid middle ground for that entire playerbase? Who didn't focus on fixing year/decade old bugs and exploits? At this point, which of those things are even considered bugs or exploits, some have become a staple of the gameplay loop, as pathetic as that is. Who made the decision to ignore changing literally anything at all about the matchmaking system? Enabling/Disabling threat seg aside that doesn't count I mean the list goes on and on So far the only results we've gotten are some new symbols, titles, skins and some monetary changes to get with the times, some of which were forced by legislation and conflicts of interest with said legislation. You know 100% JMBs would've stayed if the lootbox legislation and debacle never happened. When can we expect the neglect that's gone on for a decade+ to cease? That won't happen, it's going to continue, there's going to be another excuse that the 1.3 won't work because some arbitrary roadblock 1-2-4 years down the line while everyone waits in purgatory.
  2. What's to say they're not gonna fail this too 3 years down the line
  3. Congrats on the wedding, As for APB What a waste. What did I say, that it's a bit of a copout saying you can't add new stuff with the current engine, while having already added new stuff before. Now the 4 years of neglect has left the game in an unpopulated state with the worst weapon balance in the games history, long ignored bugs exploits and performance issues cheats and jaded glorified beta testers that pretend they know what's good for the game or that they have any idea how any of APBs systems actually work. It's too late bud. NA is unplayable and has been since the ddosing that took place during the dev of riot. EU is on its way to that point too. The decade+ long history that is the meta of neglecting the game and the concept of fun has continued. I was once very positive and forgiving for the new management but time and time again there have been failures and even steps backwards in making this game better. There isn't even any new content mentioned in this roadmap, just features and fixes we should've had 1, 2, 3 years ago. The game is going to remain unplayable for an entire half of the planet while even more time is spent pushing these overdue fixes, I only wonder what the next giant lean on excuse is going to be now that the engine excuse has been finally laid to rest.
  4. -Remove R195 restriction for mods -Stop nerfing everything and making meaningless buffs, or overbuffing, OR nerfing one gun and buffing the alternative, usually end up in the same place you started -Stop putting guns into the grave (which by the way creates the problem of 1 gun becoming too powerful, simply because alternatives have been nuked) -Controversial revert the pioneer and espacio. They're genuinely pointless now with the vegas 4x4 still existing and matt himself said in one of the dev streams there's a vehicle counter nade coming YEAH I WENT BACK AND WATCHED THEM ALL, SOME OF YOU SHOULD TOO *cough* 1000 new players a day *cough* -Stop listening to people that don't play the game, or barely play (maybe listen to the streamers that put in working class hours into your game, they might have this thing called, uh, I dunno... experience relative to the current balance and not boomers from 8 years ago when the pop peaked in 2014 who log on once a month and give a thumbs up when the guns they hate the most don't ruin their kd as much) -Bring back 50/50 districts (or more if possible? Who cares about performance impact, game barely runs as it is, and 20 extra people helps alleviate the disaster headache that is matchmaking) -Anticheat, BE is disgustingly easy to bypass, EAC is free now, even if the backend doesn't work, or whatever the problem allegedly was, it was better than BE -More account bound weapons (yes some of us nerds have disposable income we'd instantly waste on those. It's disposable to us for a reason, you'd probably rather have it than idk, the liquor store or something, free $ for some text edits bud, and don't give me any nonsense about it's not just a text edit, you're not building kernals from scratch and the community members that claim it's hard either don't know or don't understand your backend and frontend, unless you've done the silly thing of giving them access to how it works) -Account bound vehicles (more $ for idk, whatever you do with the games income) None of these take a brand new engine to do
  5. Ignore the SPCT nerds they don't even play outside their OTW safe space bubble.
  6. There's a reason, or several, the game struggles to hit 500 total players, let alone retain new ones.
  7. You're now my favorite APB community member Edit: Mr Scott probably too focused on his other endeavors, like all the companies on his Linkedin
  8. tl;dr: seg on or off doesn't matter at this point. get off the forums if you don't like reading nerd kek ecksdee ecksdee ecksdee omegalul Reenabling threat segregation In the case of NA What would happen is the most skilled players would be forced to either de-threat, play on the European server at a latency disadvantage (which is also dying, I've been watching the pop counter website they don't even consistently pass 400 anymore, not even 300 a few times already), or not play at all, or maybe linger in the silver district with hopes a few people join, fighting either other high tier players (which is good) or mid tier players who can no longer join the bronze district. The players in the middle (which last I played there are genuinely very few of, probably the smallest demographic, and probably was once the largest) would either end up in the same boat as the most skilled players (not because of the skill but because of the arbitrary color the threat system decides they are) or they would be able to play but end up out performing the lesser skilled players while they're able to access the bronze district, which would inevitably force them into the same situation mentioned above by inevitably being assigned 'gold' They're pretty much screwed either way, and have been for a while, which is part of why the population has sank so low. Middle tier and low tier players are the most valuable to your game. Argue as much as you want, no way around it, less of those players = less future high tier players = less overall players and when the middle gets cut out top vs bottom completely destroys any chances of a fun experience and more people just stop bothering. And the lesser skilled players are screwed either way too because even with good population, the matchmaking in the game has historically been absolute garbage, and was made worse with the god awful decision to make districts 40/40 instead of the previous 50/50, 20 extra players in a matchmaking pool, especially for this game, makes a difference (also no, it's too late to bother putting it back to 50/50, would make little difference at this point, except MAYBE for Europe) So what would happen is they'd either go against mid tier players and get rolled, then probably claim de-threat when in reality most of those players get rolled just as bad in the other district, or get good rng and get an actually decent match. Not saying dethreating doesn't exist, but it most certainly wasn't as bad as people made it out to be either In the case of EU it's probably different but I don't play there (or anywhere right now, it's healthier to not play APB right now) so couldn't tell you By LOs logic, which as of recently I disagree with some of, allowing as many players as possible to enter non empty districts made more sense, why run servers if they're going to sit empty and idle and cost money to keep up. I'm still not sure whether disabling seg was a good idea, at first it was nice to be able to actually play the game again, but as with many things after time the flaws began to show (cough like the weapon balance cough) As a whole the way the matchmaking has worked has contributed to the dying population numbers, and probably more than most think, as it's always screwed over the middle tier and low tier players, regardless of which company has owned the game, and the neglect from those companies (LO included, engine excuse is nothing but, an excuse, they've demonstrated several times the current game can be drastically changed on the current one. I don't think anyone cares about the engine at this point) to do anything about it has left us in this situation. It's too late to bother turning it back on in my opinion, we'd see a temporary increase in the player counts, then watch as it dropped back to where it was before, and continue the consistent overall downtrend the game has had. Also, Matt, I re-watched some of the Q&A sessions. I think your math is wrong, the game was most certainly NOT gaining thousands of new players a day.
  9. Great I can hear the people responsible for weapon balancing salivating at the thoughts of nerfing it. #NotMyAPB
  10. put everything u LIKE and DISLIKE about apb here Yes - what you want to see in engine update: A tangible improvement on the games performance, ease of adding new content, ease of modifying variables to allow changes to things without requiring an entire patch with 6 hour downtimes. What the engine upgrade is supposed to do. - wacky things you think they should add to apb: Demo derby rate apb 1-10 based on : - performance Without Configs: 3 With Configs: 6 - gameplay 8.5 - community 3 - guns 7 - items 6 though could be higher or lower, not super sure what kinds of items this means - how much u love the GMs
