  1. 1) Both threads on the matter refer to the old previous system which failed. As a result of this most of the replies that say no are using this as justification. It is very apparent from all the replies. 2) I have provided suggestions to fix the previous system which ensures it can work without breaking the game, these as a whole are to be taken as my reasons for having it return. If there are no flaws and it is well balanced out why not? 3) I have provided suggestions to balance any weapon drop mechanic to overcome the sided issues you state that may occur in FC 4) Reasons for having such a system if not clear from all the posts Allow new players to experience more, see what APB is all about. Disprove the P2W element Allow all players to try out ARMAS weapons, may lead to sales. Help players understand weapon mods, see why better players are using particular config Provide APB with more tactical elements, allows players to make a choice during combat which can add to the fun / experience. Bring more fun to APB Read what Dopefish said as his input covers some of these points. 5) I would like to share my weapons with less experienced / less equipped players.
  2. I didn't scroll up when typing and only saw your avatar
  3. Thanks for the info KEVKOF. Without overclocking yassine1337 does it crash? (different game engine can have different outcomes)
  4. Take out all your personal reasons, look at all the points you have raised, consider all my counter statements and look at what is left, an idea. I am here to put forward good reasons that go beyond my own personal gain, nothing said is being forced and I can see that you disagree with the weapon drop feature regardless of its implementation. The majority have not voted and some are fixated on the previous weapon drop system that was flawed. All the reasons you supplied have been criticised in a constructive manner and I have put forward ways to address all the issues you raised, this is the nature of a discussion. If other playeres had the ability to use my ARMAS weapons for a short period during a misison I would welcome it and be amused by the fact that I may potentially be killed by my own weapon.
  5. Are you running default settings, not overclocking the PC? Do all other games work fine? And the latest nvidia drivers. When does the error pop up, does APB actually run ok for a bit? Maybe the 11GB on your GTX 1080Ti is an issue, do you have an older GFX card to test? Assuming an older GFX card worked it may imply the above. Some newer motherboards also have an option in the BIOS which may help with such a problem, look in your BIOS for this option, (Similar wording to these.) Above 4G memory remapping. Above 4G decoding.
  6. Hello, Did you install Windows 10 as the 64bit version? (depends on the install media, some can be created as 32bit only, some give you the option)
  7. With the right rule set this cannot happen, for example once the weapon drops, you pick it up. You then die, weapon despawns. Above assuming dropped weapons only have 1 service life. Then if you were to say, well what if the original OSMAW user is alive and the other dropped OSMAW player is still around. To prevent 2 dropped OSMAWS, there can only be 1 dropped weapon from the original player active at any one time. This would avoid an OSMAW user dying 10 times and leaving 10 instances and the impossible likelyhood that the other 10 players didnt die during this period. So with the right rule set it can work without breaking the game.
  8. Hello, It is normal right now and they are trying to reply / address the delay, please check the link below for details.
  9. This shows a selfish attitude towards other players. The idea about adding a fully thought out weapon drop system is to improve the game by providing more fun to players and changing the game play to introduce more tactical advantages / disadvantages. You are not thinking outside the realms of possibilities, instead you are too focused on the previous broken system. Consider a system with restrictions, a weapon can only be dropped / used twice. (droppped weapons have a service life) You are assuming he wants broken mechanics, the suggestion is to implement a weapon drop system that works. The legendaries comment is based on your example above. Again you refer to the ideas from a system which didn't work and automatically consider this to be the final conclusion on any idea to re-introduce a modified working version. To provide others with a gift whether it be for a limited time, to share a piece of your fortune and to play a game knowing that you added to someones fun factor should be considered as a privilege. The system which develops out of this will not only provide advantages but must be worked to ensure a disadvantage / limitation. Tactical reasoning must be a core fundamental. There is no lazyiness, only the driving force / determination behind your opponent that wants to kill you to obtain that premium weapon he / she has never seen before. Perhaps they want to show you a piece of your own weapon, maybe they will regret doing so... Role kills are role kills, makes no difference as the said players might both be using SMGs / Rifles... Also there will be restrictions to limit any non working ruleset such as LTL weapons. The current reality at the moment are people not looking to consider the possibilities and move away from their selfish morales / negative mindset. There will be restrictions to ensure a dropped weapon has a service life, futhermore the Joker store weapons to unlock roles is not an exploit. Dropped weapons will expire after a set time, this will have the same impact on FPS as currently seen when someone deploys a ballistic shield plus there will be a timer on the dropped weapon for it to expire / despawn. People are bring ideas to APB, You can argument a point and say, well it didnt work before so no lets not talk about it any further. Or you can use the previous attempt as a basis to argue your concerns. Everyone that played the broken system knows why it didnt work and yes you may feel that such a mechanic (even one with zero flaws) should not be implemented in APB but without understanding the concepts of a fully working system you are being very dismissive. Usually people have an idea, you state points / weaknesses / strengths, listen to a rework of the idea, let the idea grow and continue to either argue for or against. The positive replies (for or against), the ones which carry substance and show intelligence, will make better reading and show you understand the game. There is already another thread on this subject and it appears to me that only a few people are contributing in a constructive manner. https://forums.gamersfirst.com/topic/1629-old-weapon-drop-system/?page=3 Move away from the "it's mine" "I did this" "my effort" "can't be done" "I paid" Be a better player and look towards greater possibilities and ideas that can bring players together, it's never all bad unless that is what you make it to be.
  10. Yes different ideas need trialing out, I'm thinking more along the lines of a system that makes the player consider their actions and consequences that may arise.
  11. With the correct rule set in place it can work. If you pick up a weapon, there is a 10 second delay before you can drop / pickup again. If you pickup / drop your ammo box cannot be used to equip until you die. Re-supplies ammo only. So a player dies, You pick up the weapon. (10 sec timer) Your current weapon drops. (5 sec timer) You cannot use an ammo box to equip. (restriction) You are allowed to acquire ammo only. Cycle repeats unti you die. You are allowed to drop a weapon, give to a friend. (Only the 5 sec timer starts as you didnt pickup) Now you have no weapon and cannot use the ammo box to equip (restriction) You are allowed to pick up a weapon, eg if above friend wants to swap. (10 sec timer for both) Both players now are stuck with weapons until they either pickup another weapon or die. If they want to swap back, after waiting 10 seconds they can but restrictions will remain in place. Should solve most problems? The moment you pick up and drop, you can only acquire ammo. Dropping will only start the 5 seconds timer, safe guard in the event someone drops their gun and wants to pick up again. The moment you pick up the 10 seconds timer starts. No one can camp with shotgun / sniper. Fair to an extent, you can at least acquire ammo. Or block ammo completely which would mean you better think twice about using the feature?
  12. Hello, Does the game currently still work on your older computer?

    Game crashes

Maybe not hacked but if you have some other service running which is causing issues with BE then maybe the format / install to another hdd (if you have one spare) would help isolate the issue. Your GTX 1080, which one is it too? (some MSI one run quite hot). As a suggestion, get rid of malwarebytes and stop using Windows defender to see what happens. (Panda Free AV works)

    Game crashes

Hello, Is there any possibility that you can try a clean Windows install to see if the issue remains? https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10 No other software, no antivirus (what are you using?) just Windows 10, nvidia drivers and APB? To rule out any other software from being the issue. Do you play any other games atm?
  15. I only meant that as being one of the reasons for people not liking the feature, definitely not saying it was the only reason.
  16. Some old threads here. https://forums-old.gamersfirst.com/topic/384664-why-people-dislike-the-weapon-drop-system-so-much/ https://forums-old.gamersfirst.com/topic/384509-should-keep-dropping-of-weapons-universal/ With the right refinement it could work out OK.
  17. I believe a lot of people didnt like the concept that they had paid for a premium weapon and now someone could pick it up and use it. Personally I see it as a way for premium players to share some of their items, with the possibility of future sales as a result.
  18. I remember, the concept does bring a whole new tactical element to the game as pointed out by Spudinskes. Someone camping on the roof in FC Baylan Shipping with an OSMAW, go up there, get it and return the favour.
  19. There you go, you see an advantage which is beneficial to all sprint shooting capable weapons, the joker carbine, obir, oscar and most pistols.
  20. It means you are able to maintain a more accurate position of your target in relation to your crosshair that was suppose to be invisible. A clear advantage over other players that are not using a 3rd party mod.
  21. If you are not familiar with how APB works let me explain. When you start sprinting your crosshair disappears. Consider this very carefully, if a player has a custom crosshair so there is a visible indicator to show where they are pointing whilst sprinting, does it provide them with an advantage? Regardless of "knowing" where the center of your screen may be, this feature will provide an advantage to the player that is using the custom crosshair. Due to the above reasons it is fairly obvious that such a mod should be restricted unless the developers intend to provide the same feature to all.
  22. And you always want know where you are pointing especially when sprinting. <The main advantage everyone wants.
  23. Interesting, I remember a long time ago there was a thread about this problem (old forums), I even had it with a GTS250 (512MB RAM). They must have undone some tweaks or broke it further. Shader cache off.
  24. If your GTX 750Ti is the 2GB version, it is the reason why your FPS is dropping over time. A problem is APB caches all the player texture data which can be a lot if you join a mission district with players coming / going. The GFX RAM slowly gets used by APB and for some reason it seems to never clear the GFX Ram. It's a game engine design flaw that also needs looking into. The more GFX RAM you have the longer your FPS will sustain above 60.
