  1. Nothing has changed. It's still a dumpster fire and the people in charge don't care. You may be bored and looking for something to play, but this isn't it.
  2. Apology is the policy these days. Not that I care, but going back and deleting footage to hide behaviour shows more about your character than just admitting you lost your temper and were being unreasonable. He's only apologising because he couldn't cover it up any quicker. EDIT: Arse-licking isn't really fair since this is all just conjecture anyway lmao.
  3. That's fair, but not my main concern as I'm more interested in tweaking the gameplay loop cause they haven't altered the gameplay or progression in a meaningful way in years. Anyway, the only reason I was even here was to share my opinion because Ritual encouraged me to do so. It's nearly a month later tho and not a single person with any development gravitas has even chimed in. There's no passion, no connecting with the players, they're just clocked out lmao.
  4. So you agree that there's an at least (or greater than) chance that they just got lucky? Now sprinkle on some 'skill issue' and presto, you're woke. You can't tell me what to do! You're not my real dad!
  5. Ya, the deeper problem is you're too lazy to clip a few minutes of gameplay, but have all the energy to sit and whine on the forum every day and point fingers, like most boomers. Then get defensive and accuse people of gaslighting you when in reality it's just their pity cause they know you'll never grow up. Is that a threat? Most of what you say is incoherent trash that looks spat out by ChatGPT when it runs too long in a convo, but you seem to really need to disconnect for a while. Maybe even indefinitely.
  6. The speeds can be adjusted as we see fit, the main point I'm raising is that we reexamine how much effort it takes to ascend the ranks, which I feel is too slow. The game is so old, all the base symbols should honestly just be unlocked either for free, or sold for in-game money. Getting a symbol as a mission reward is like... wow lmao. It absolutely would work, the game just needs a healthy playerbase and to cull a lot of archaic and horrendous design choices that don't mesh with the current mindset of the industry.
  7. It's called the Dunning-Krueger effect. There's some interesting studies done on the subject.
  8. Depends on your definition of quick, no? 2-3 months of playing with about ~30 hours per week for a weapon mod in a game that sucks arsehole, but doesn't let your progress somedays cause all your contacts are Financial but it's been a 4-day streak of Waterfront so you earn zero "xp". Not sure 'quick' is the adjective I'd use, but sure. Personally, I was thinking more along the lines of antiquated, dysfunctional, and pointless.
  9. This is great point, I'm going to add it to the list! Thank you for sharing. That's fair! I don't want anyone getting the wrong idea, I don't think my ideas are perfect. Given the state of the game and people I've talked to tho, I sense a lot of people have given up on changing things, but I want to try something new (or get some meaningful discussion going at least). I forgive, no harm done! I really don't want to adjust leasing, I want to get rid of it. People want to have fun, this timer on guns is really off-putting to new players. It stinks of older F2P games that rent-out stuff. A lot of players don't even know how to join a district with players in it (the advanced tab is a problem) let alone "exploiting" the in-game economy to rent some guns. New players just want to have fun, not farm cash watching a criminal ramming buildings so they can witness them lol. I'd argue it is, since you're competing with others to shoot them in the face before they shoot you LOL. As for the last 10 years, there's a new company in charge so I'd rather focus on the future than the past. For #2, The removal (and replacement) of non-mod cars is a huge plus for me. (Exactly the type of discussion I was hoping to see!) Changes like this are SO important to help modernize it. The only ones who buy non-slot cars are new players cause they're desperate and now have to deal with missing out on arguably the most important car mod in the entire game. A configurable UI would be lovely as well, I agree. It's hard to presume what players will do with unlocked contact progression... Personally, I like both maps and would continue playing both either way. The important thing is that players can make progression regardless if the district is dead, because some days I literally couldn't advance in rank cause my only contacts available were Financial, but it was a 4-day streak of Waterfront on NA East... Zzz lol.
  10. Any evidence at all would go a lot further than words. You declare it's bannable, is that repetition or did you guys know that before using it for the symbol creator?
  11. Cosmetics still sell fine, just speaking to my APB friends they still buy clothing/vehicle packs (as do I occasionally). New cars, kits, weapon skins, etc. would be more than enough, me thinks. And it wouldn't harm APB's fair-play integrity and muddy the waters between 'what is P2W' and the "so much grinding, it might as well be". I already spent real money to buy the CSG, but now it's available for tickets. It's the same premise friend, you're just looking at it from the wrong angle. First me claiming P2W? I'm talking about APB:R's image as a P2W Free-2-Play game. The free permanent weapon choice is another anxiety experience for new players, It should give them that choice after they max the first 8 contacts. The base weapons should be free and permanently available considering this game is centered around switching during missions. As for the previous incumbent's daughter, Jane Darren is the current mayor for San Paro. Unless you meant "major"? Which case idk.
  12. I know it's a lot, but I had to cause I met so many cool people on this game and I feel bad for it, lmao.
  13. Hi, my name is Jilleroo and I've been playing a long time with Jackeroo. Thread went no where. Hoped Matt, Ritual, etc. would offer their thoughts on this since it's been sitting in Social for 2 months. Once again tho, they don't give a roasted dung beetle what we talk about or how many bug reports we make to help. They don't appreciate (or at the very least even acknowledge) our input. Not like the game is swarming with content and events either, so the fact of the matter is: they just don't care.
  14. Can one of you moderators just let me know that you passed this along to the dev team? Or anything? Any communication would be appreciated.
  15. Agree 100%, people want a game that respects their time for playing. When I tried playing Warframe and they wanted real money for full access to the default colour palette I uninstalled it and that's just cosmetics. I made a 2nd crim to level with a friend (+document the levelling experience) and I have probably over 250 hrs on her, but only JUST reached R195 and allowed to use certain things. And for what? A muzzle break? Why is that R195? The only gun that really benefits is the SHAW and no one really uses it with or without the MB, it's a joke. I can't even imagine how hopeless some newer players feel about it.
  16. Your sentiments mirror my own. When I was playing this game a lot, I was in high school. Now I'm a biologist researching biomagnification, just no time for it. Still makes me sad seeing new players get creamed and start blaming themselves tho, poor souls.
  17. It's not your fault, please take a break if you're losing heart. You have to remember, this game has been out for ages but it's just charming enough that it manages to hold onto a relatively small player base that has been playing it for many years. They know every centimeter of this map, know what works and when to use it, and know when you're going to reach the objective, when you'll attempt to do it, and how. Then, due to the small matchmaking pool, the strict PvP only gameplay, and the intrinsic ego that comes along with competitive gaming--you're almost guaranteed to end up feeling frustrated. It's a serious problem and unfortunately the gameplay loop hasn't been improved or innovated on in just as many years as some veterans have been playing. Once Little Orbit gets around to adjusting the 'meat and potatoes' of the experience, I'm sure we'll have cause to rejoice. TL;DR There's gonna come a day when you feel better, but when that day is coming, who can say?
  18. Be honest, you just love running down waves of pedestrians.

Would that really surprise anyone at this point? This game is over a decade old with borderline no development done in almost that entire time. The fact the maps haven't changed 1 pixel since I was a teenager is mind boggling... There's STILL the same UI glitch for over 6+ years now. EDIT: For the record, LO is the best thing that happened to this game cause G1, driven by the winds of their incompetence, 100% drove it into the ground.
  20. No, what's dangerous is how people think they can just say and do whatever they want and everyone has to just deal. APB isn't the first game that doesn't allow toxicity--this goes way beyond our own little community. Stop trying to make it seem like LO is power tripping. And stop acting like entitled children when you lose a match, cause LO doesn't owe you anything when you act ugly. Do some of you even know what sportsmanship is? You got banned... Have some grace, jeez.
  21. In my opinion, I think car surfing is fine. It's not even that good (zero cover) unless it's a mission with a mobile objective or you're chasing/fleeing. Gravity hurts a lot (no HL) and so does losing Val tablets. I've never said to myself, "Wow, Car Surfer is strong." cause I don't care, it's impact is minimal. The real issue is when objectives/VIPs aren't locked into an area and they start running 1,200+ meters with the briefcase on Waterfront and an ALIG on top of a Pioneer. If they were actually locked into a contested 400m² zone, then it wouldn't be such a frustrating tactic and people couldn't drag it out or make the opp wait 15 minutes until the VIP mission timer ends... Zzz.
  22. Every 100 missions the 4 seats do come in handy for about 30 seconds, but tbh 4-doors in a world where car surfer exists makes it basically irrelevant. I'm almost max on my 2nd crim and I can recall maybe 4-5 times where those extra seats made any real impact. Like R3 said tho, it's usually just a fantastic way to eat a Conc Grenade and have your whole team cease to exist + lose all initiative on the objective(s).
