Dunno what "fix" they attempted, but the exploit still works just fine. Hell, Kemp was using it on stream just the other day.

Why stop at just medium? You should say "item movement exploits" to cover heavy items as well. We could also go into how item mechanics are broken in general. The core issue is the removal of item pickup animations, which make the jump+grab exploit (for medium and heavy items) and insta-grab while sprinting through (small items) possible. Course, the standard retort to this is that the animations don't work in our low TTK environment, but to that I simply say that having to actually rout the defenders before grabbing your items should be the expected norm in the first place.

I can guarantee you that if we could see the analytics, we would see a marked increase in ARMAS spending (especially new adopters). Do. Not. Underestimate. The incredible power of making the consumer happy. It's absolutely insane how clockwork this is. I work in sales, and I see it every day with the people I sell to.

I mean, that's because they're running the game out of a budget bin datacenter. No amount of maintenance will fix that, they would need to upgrade to a proper server provider.

Let's not remove the CBMP-45s, which have some of the most satisfying reports in the game. Instead, let's run a balance pass to make the guns less RNG and fit their niche better.

Literally the entire reason I can't drive my Fresno for more than a few missions. Fuck that dust layer.

Replace all instances of HVR-762 with HVR-243, including mods where applicable. This effectively removes HVR-762 from the game without actually sacrificing anything.
-
You've apparently never been part of an actual beta test for a video game before. This is normal. Probably the part where MattScott himself has stated repeatedly that Financial and Waterfront aren't complete, and that's why they aren't part of the EU yet?

Tell me about your most hated weapon

Only two guns I'd say I really hate. HVR-762 (aka heavy HVR) due to two reasons. One, it deals far too much damage for the current TTK and environment. Should be nerfed down to like 600, and then the HVR-243 should also be tweaked so it still has a relevant niche beyond just "HVR-762 without movement penalty". Secondly, the stupid crosshair-based damage gimmick needs to be removed straight out. Such gimmicks have no place in this game, and should be removed across the board from the handful of guns that have them. NFAS True Ogre, also due to two reasons. Firstly, it simply needs to cause the user to suffer significantly reduced movement speed while firing (like 80%-90% reduction). You shouldn't be able to run and hop around so freely with that much power coming out of you in close quarters. Secondly, because it completely fucks the framerates for a lot of players... although this doesn't happen for me, so this is more of a "angry on their behalf" thing. This all being said, I still see plenty of guns that need slight buffs/nerfs, but these two are the only ones that really stand out as especially egregious for me personally. -
I told you people that the rayscaling revert would cause these issues, but ya'll just downvoted me to oblivion. You get what you deserve, and I have no sympathy to spare for your tears now.

Less and less activity on forums

It's a YMMV situation. Whether or not you come across them has so many variables involved that it's possible that each individual person can have wildly different experiences. Personally, I've seen a 100% increase in users of third-party cheating programs (aimbot, wall/radarhack, firing macro, etc type stuff). However, that percentage is also misleading. When the game was under EAC, I would encounter maybe one or two suspect players in a given month (which in many cases resolved with additional matches against them to be just APB's quirks being APB's quirks), but never anyone that was outright blatant. However, now under BE, I encounter multiple suspect players every day (again, many times this is resolved after a few matches though. BE server/client performance issues are likely to blame here). There's also players that are now completely blatant, and while there's only a few of them they are very active every day. An increase of zero to one is still a 100% increase, but without context it sounds a lot worse than it is. That being said, this continues to show how worthless BE is and how good EAC was... EAC completely removed the cheating problem on this game even when EAC was only working at half efficacy... Little Orbit made the wrong decision to drop EAC, even if they were paying more than they probably should've been having to pay. A cheat-free game is worth more than whatever cheaper price they're getting with BE, if they actually care about the game's health and future. -
That's not how that works. It's a single 1% roll for every 500 JT purchased. So if you buy the 500 JT bundle, you get a single 1% roll. If you buy the 2,500 JT bundle, you get five rolls at 1% each roll (2,500 = 5 bundles of 500 JT). The wording in the initial announcement was terrible (and AFAIK none of the staff clarified despite constant request by the community), but the wording on ARMAS is unmistakable. It literally tells you on the JT bundle pages on ARMAS.

Less and less activity on forums

Yup, made worse because BattlEye was the direction they decided to go (despite proven terrible for the game in the past). Besides the obvious increase in cheating activity due to how simple it is to bypass, there's also the significant game performance issues both on client and server side. It's a shitshow. -
About threat segregation... again.
Hexerin replied to HighSociety's topic in General Discussion Archive
It was ditched because it was never populated, so players couldn't complete the original tutorial that utilized it. Oh, the nostalgia... you actually had to level your tier 0 contact back then (Wilson LeBoyce for enforcers, Double B for criminals) by completing that tutorial. Nowadays, these contacts are instantly maxed out the moment a new character enters a district. -
There's a few vehicles like this, and not just four slot ones either. It's a strange oversight in the progression unlocks, and beyond easy to fix too if they just took a minute to add them to the lists.
-
You might have had a point, if it weren't for the simple fact that I haven't opened a Fresno from JMBs since I first obtained the car. Many years ago.
-
Bear in mind, the only way to obtain this vehicle is from Joker Mystery Boxes, and the only reward therein is a permanent unlock of it. I will also point out that I unlocked this car many years ago, well beyond the 365 day lease timers the other vehicles in JMBs had. I do find it interesting that this mail arrived shortly after the removal of JMBs though...
-
Alternatively, remove it as it isn't a healthy game mechanic on the fundamental level.

They weren't banned for dethreating, they were banned for something else and dethreating was just lumped on as an afterthought. How do I know this? Because of simple logic. If they were banned for dethreating, then roughly 25% of the current Jericho playerbase would also be getting banned.
-
In one of the many Q&A / livestreams he did when LO first picked the game up. His reasoning for making that decision was "dethreating is a symptom of the underlying issue [of impotent matchmaking due to segregation of an already small population]" and he'd "rather fix the underlying issue for long term health, than ban players that might reform". These are of course paraphrased, I'm not about to spend probably days of my time digging through old threads and/or video to find the exact reference. You can agree or disagree with the decision, but it's the decision he's made and it's unlikely any of us can change his mind on it. For the record, I disagree with his decision. Dethreaters should 100% be held accountable to the ToS, and actioned accordingly (1st offense warning -> 2nd offense suspension -> 3rd offense permaban).

They really should just remove the threat restrictions on districts at this point. With the low population we have now, it's doing more harm than good. Districts aren't filling, and what little people are online are being split too much apart. There's new players being loaded into empty districts, and then they just leave (probably forever) because they obviously can't find any opp to fight. Or we can continue to sit here pretending like there aren't more golds in bronze than in silver, like certain... special people... on this forum keep trying to perpetuate.
