  1. Thanks, I've only been learning how to design cars since recently. I don't know how do to better for now, and it was quite hard to keep experimenting with 7 decals.
  2. Gotcha, I'll do something else in the meantime then. I should mention this started yesterday, I just made a forum post about it today seeing as it didn't change EDIT : Yup, it's back now!
  3. Plain and simple, I'm no longer premium, even though I was a couple days ago, so now I'm limited to 7 decals in the editors. Did they stop handing it out?
  4. Very excited about this, I can only hope for a good resolution to APB's terrible impending fate.
  5. They migrate the live database onto the beta servers, so the server already knows your characters.
  6. I'm in the beta, using the clothes editor in social as I'm typing this, you'll want to figure out if you've got a network problem on your end preventing you from communicating with the server.
  7. Live characters are available on the beta, it's why he says to use your live account and characters. It's creating new players, specifically in this beta, that isn't going to work. As he said, they've effectively removed the tutorial world, meaning you can't make new characters.
  8. I know we said "Put the FPS counter away", but I'm getting 25-45 FPS in mission districts with only 40% CPU (Ryzen 5 2600) and 35% GPU (RX 580) usage, and it regularily goes above 50 ms frame times, only in mission districts tho. Social is completely fine, I'm getting between 60-140 FPS there. EDIT : In fight club I'm getting pretty much the same, if not better FPS than last beta.
  9. The server is sending the file without using encryption, which Chrome thinks is unsafe because he always tries to go to https by default, and I think it's looking for the gamersfirst website certificate. Just click "Keep". Replacing "http" with "https" made it throw a security error for me on Firefox because of this, but I am able to get the file just fine without encryption.
  10. I'd assume given this is a beta, they wouldn't have it set up in a way that lets you patch over the previous beta. Possibly to reduce the work needed to push it out, and prevent potential issues that may arise from patching one beta to a new version without having that part figured out just yet.
  11. Although the future of gaming is looking increasingly bright for Linux users, thus far I've had no luck running the game trough either Proton or WINE. You'll need to dual boot Windows or set up a PCI passtrough VM to play I'm afraid...
  12. Just don't let bronzes get queued in matches with high silvers/golds until they reach that rank themselves, even if they outnumber the competition. It might increase mission finding time, but low silvers are a lot easier to learn against as a bronze than a gold veteran.
  13. You’re missing the point. I’m literally just saying that transmission whine, which already exists in the game, is a sound that should be linked to final drive speed and not to engine RPM. That’s where my argument ends. This whine comes from straight cut gears, straight cut gears are available to car modders IRL. You can find tuner cars who make this sound. It wouldn’t be insane to say that a FICTIONAL car might have a tuner scene with such available parts for it. We can compare Bishadas to M3’s all you want, it was just a good example for what transmission whine is. Seriously, is ANYBODY on earth comparing fictional Bishadas to actual M3 GTR’s? You’ll also want to remove half of all car sounds from the game, and outright remove all transmission sounds if we can’t have sounds from parts you wouldn’t find on the real life inspirations of ingame cars. You think the Mustang comes with factory military-grade bullbars? This isn’t about realism, it’s about making the ranges of sounds that our cars make more interesting, using real life as an example for what would sound better. You’d also be able to tell how fast a car is going just from the sound of it. Again, minor, but would be nice.
  14. Naturally, this single detail makes the ENTIRE GAME UNPLAYABLE. I DEMAND FIXES.
  15. It's a very minor observation, but one to be made nonetheless. Engine, turbo, dump valve sounds are just fine. But ingame, transmission whine is directly linked to the engine's RPM. In real life, it increases in pitch according to overall speed, not instant engine speed. At the moment, transmission sounds sound just like a supercharger. I'll illustrate my point : This is someone's Bishada running around Waterfront. You'll hear a supercharger-like whine whenever the car accelerates. That's the ingame transmission whine. Now here's a BMW M3 GTR doing a lap of the Nurburgring. You can hear a clear whine ramp up as he picks up speed. This is real transmission whine. An example of how it should sound ingame can be heard with Most Wanted's BMW M3 GTR. You can hear the difference with APB very clearly. I think my Bishada would sound a lot cooler if it sounded like it got progressively more high-pitched the faster it went, like straight-cut transmissions would in real life. Thoughts?
  16. You're the one projecting a high horse here, are you insane? You're being elitist about art instead of just letting people enjoy the cool results of this website, and according to you, Rade's the one riding a high horse, because he's messing with you and you're unable to process it any other way than opposition? As someone who's grown in a family of artists this is disappointing behavior to witness online. It's because of snobbish people like you that nobody takes the word "artist" seriously anymore. Nobody's doing this in the hopes of genuinely claiming it as their own art, and if they are, it's very easy to recognize it and call them out for the cool AI gadget that this website really is. Either way, here's my results, I might aswell post them! A lot of detail is lost along the way, but still, very impressive. It's also making me realize my character needs a nose job...
  17. If you're knowledgeable enough about computers to argue against it, you will know that you run 32-bit software on 64-bit hardware because you can recreate the 32-bit addressable memory range by effectively halving 64-bit registers in your RAM into two 32-bit registers. The program instructions are the same between x86 and AMD_64, therefore no extra change is required. Load program memory into the halved registers as if they were individual addresses and the program works just fine. Windows does this using WoW64. What you cannot do however, is try to access a hardware 64-bit memory region from a 32-bit program. It's out of range and it will never be able to see it. Try to install Windows XP natively on a system with 16 GB of RAM, you *will* get the same "Out of memory" error that APB spits out, because it crashes when it tries to read an out-of-range existing address. It's incorrectly reported as being out of memory because that would be the logical reason you wouldn't be able to access a known memory address under normal circumstances. This is complete conjecture since I'm not part of APB's coding team, but I believe it's what's happening while APB tries to access data in the GPU memory located beyond the 4 GB threshold, because RTX drivers care very little about backwards compatibility with 32-bit games, and I wouldn't be surprised if there was an oversight that allows the driver to address memory objects beyond 4 GB in 32-bit mode. Graphics cards normally have dedicated 32-bit and 64-bit modes, the former being the cause of crashes in APB. The API is compatible, but due to the way APB handles video memory, I wouldn't be surprised if it just kept on going trough memory addresses until eventually the driver goes beyond the 4 GB addressable limit and the game crashes. I can't see any other reason for "Out of memory" crashes to happen exclusively on RTX cards.
  18. Aw, I'm kinda sad to see nobody else's posted anything here... All I can really show are two variations of the same character, and what they look like ingame, since I've never really put any effort into my other characters... Kind of boring, isn't it? Still, I'll throw it in as my two cents.
  19. So long as there's enough players to keep missions and FC running, APB won't be truly dead. Try playing something like ArcheBlade and then come back to me about dead games.
  20. Glossy leggings, the button down shirt and the contrast top are my two most reoccurring clothing items, although I mostly use the top to cover up cleavage when wearing shirts. Speaking of, I would love a version of the button down shirt with just one extra button closed near the cleavage. Oh, also, female ties, and more skirts!
  21. This is a public forum. I'm not sure what you expected. You got an answer from the community manager and a member of SPCT, which are essentially what you call the "tech team" on the forums. People have told you their honest thoughts and ideas for your problem. If you're not happy, then tough shit. You're expecting AAA levels of support from a game that has been on life support for 10 years with a median of 600-800 players daily. Although I understand your frustration, you are acting as if no workaround or solution exists, despite you being clearly aware of some. The issue comes from Synapse 2.0 and BattleEye, that's the end of the story. Either find a workaround (DELETE AUTOHOTKEY FROM SYNAPSE 2, IT IS USELESS UNLESS YOU USE MACROS, IN WHICH CASE YOU ARE CHEATING) or wait for the Engine Upgrade like all RTX owners are, and give beta feedback by mentioning this. No, what YOU want is for Little Orbit to take engineers off the Engine Upgrade, work on this issue trough the terrible code of Live, add the extra code, and double the workload to update the very same new code to function in the EU. You believe this issue is not caused by you and as such, it's up to those in charge to fix the problem. You however fail to see the world that exists outside of your walled garden. That's time and resources Little Orbit can't spare at the moment. Little Orbit has much more important shit to do than fixing an issue probably only 2-3 players are getting, ESPECIALLY if a working workaround is known, and you just refuse to apply it. You want to talk about programming standpoints? Here's one : As a project manager, which of these two issues do you believe needs more focus? - The engine upgrade, which will finally allow LO to add content, will give the game a breath of fresh air, and will allow all players with RTX cards to play the game at all; - A BattleEye issue that LO cannot directly fix without implementing their own anticheat, which would take twice the work since it needs to go in the EU aswell You are a baby. Goodbye.
  22. To second what has been said before, I use Razer hardware and the game is perfectly playable. Delete AutoHotKey from Synapse 2.0 if you don't use it and it'll be fine. Pretty much the only reason you'd use it in APB is to macro trigger.
  23. I like this idea, it would certainly vary the gameplay from missions and flight club. This game has always been about chaos and anarchy, and I can see players joining turf war regularly.
  24. Territory control felt a lot easier to play in Baylan than the senseless, spawnkilling chaos of takeout.
  25. Another day, another thread from an entitled player. The "simple facts" are that regardless of how much the player pop is decaying, APB's core community is very strong and until population reaches zero this game won't be truly dead. All we can do is stand back and watch what LO is doing for the game, and hope for the best.
