  5. Up front, I would like to request that anyone who doesn’t feel up to reading this entire topic and following the rules in it not post in this thread, and instead post their story in their own thread, as the purpose of this thread is to create an organized setting for people to share their work. This thread is a new version of the thread by the same name on the previous APB forums. The purpose of this thread is to create a more organized thread for people to not only share the stories of their characters, but also for us to share our thoughts and critiques of each other’s work. There have been other threads dedicated to similar purposes, but they are generally poorly structured and quickly become difficult to navigate. My intention is to minimize the size of each person’s story via a standardized formatting with spoilers, thus allowing the dialogue between writers to easily be read, and then making stories easily accessible with an index near the start of the thread, sorted by player (and character.) It should be obvious, but I request that all criticism be kept constructive. Any unnecessarily rude comments will be reported and hopefully actioned upon by mods. However, it is my intention that criticism be made, and I greatly appreciate criticism, as it is necessary for us to grow in our skills. RULES: If nothing else, the most important rule for you to follow is putting your story in a spoiler. For those of us who don’t know how to make a spoiler on the forums, you simply need to type [.s.p.o.i.l.e.r.] (without the periods) before your text, and [./.s.p.o.i.l.e.r.] after your text (yet again, without the periods.) Additionally, suggest that you manually censor all filtered words by replacing all letters but the first letter with an asterisk (*) to reduce unintended silliness. Finally, I ask, though I cannot enforce it, for you to follow the following format, with character information aside from their name being optional. Character Name: (in bold) Story Title: (if applicable, and in bold)* Additional Information: Story: *This is the title of the story. If the story is straight-forward, this may be unnecessary, but in some cases, such as mine where I'm posting my character's journal, this might be helpful.
  6. While I agree with the whole Joker Store thing, almost all, if not all ARMAS guns are currently obtainable in game. I would like to see JT leases increased to 10 days though. YOLOs aren't OP, though I wouldn't mind them being reduced to 2. Ideally though they'd make two versions of the YOLO, one that had reduced capacity, and one that had reduced speed and damage. Percs are the worst grenades, they don't need a nerf. However, if you want to make percs feel more fair add a sound that plays the whole time their in your hand and in the air. The RFP isn't OP, so don't nerf it. I'd rather see the mod on the Fang removed than replaced TBH. If I bought something and they just CHANGE what it does to something different that I don't necessarily want, that's dumb IMO. OBIR is fine as it is, but I guess this would be alright? The ATAC isn't OP, just easy, don't nerf it. Same as the OBIR, fine, do it if they want. The PMG is already worse than the OCA, and was never OP, so don't nerf it. Alternatively, just up its equip time to 3 seconds or something to actually remove quick switching once and for all. Yes, the Yukon is literally broken so it should be fixed. The Ogre sucks currently, so it shouldn't be nerfed, and this should be fixed with better servers and multithreading in theory. No, the OCA Whisper and variants are a unique version of the gun that trades having a red mod for increased ranged capability, this is intentional and balanced. Ehh, I guess they could do that, but the OSCAR is definitely supposed to be more ranged than the SR15. Don't do any of these things, instead reverted as I detailed HERE on the old forums. I will re-post this bug report and all related reports in full in the near future. (Note that in order to use old links you need to modify the URL to have "-old" after "https://forums. TL;DR: they accidentally added the nerf meant for the HVR to the Anubis, and then refused to revert it, claiming it would become unbalanced. Under no circumstances should the NCR be reworked, it simply either needs to be reverted to its original state or have the HVR nerf removed (and have its hitreg fixed.) Spotter isn't really good and as such is never used, why would they nerf it? Agreed, but the reduced cooldown should be the normal cooldown. They shouldn't be made orange modifications IMO, but being changed to a fourth yellow type of modification would be fine IMO. There's no reason to do this unless you JUST want to upset the status quo. All of the green mods are currently balanced, it just so happens CA2 and CA3 are the most versatile mods, and as such the most common. Ehh. . . I guess that would be one way to fix it. I'd prefer that they simply changed it back so that P5 and N5 actually give increased rewards, and either make N5 players have the correct minimap icons or revert how N5 worked compared to P5. Sure, sounds good. Certainly I personally want them to find something to replace the 1 minute cooldown. But why? Sure, why not? Scaleform is a discontinued product, so they can't really finish the Scaleform UI, they need to make an entirely new one. There are three things you should be able to do with crosshairs: Change their color. Remove bloom. Use the default crosshair instead of a weapon's custom crosshair (e.g. the crosshair on the Anubis, Stryfe, Ursus, OPGL, etc..) Anything else pretty much is too game-effecting IMO, though as long as there's not center dots I guess I could stand it. I don't get why people are so obsessed with this idea. . . but I guess? Why did you ask for a district queue if you also want this? That's basically redundant, lol. No, a lot of the fun of APB is that it's ridiculous and unpredictable, this would entirely ruin the feel of APB and make the game un-fun for me and a lot of people. The solution to this is simply more GM involvement with the community and better reporting. They've stated that they want to add a trade system, though if they're removing legendary trading like they said they're thinking of, this is almost a moot point.
  7. In addition to just wanting to know if you're considering changing your theory on making legendaries untradeable, here's my un-answered questions copied from the thread on the previous forum: 1. What will you be doing with the changes RG did to the maps in their console version of the EU? RG did a lot of things that many of us feel messed up the playability (and aesthetics) of the maps, for example the tons of telephone poles and bushes they added that block cars and make it more difficult to drive. Do you plan to go over the changes RG made to the maps before launching the EU3.5 version of APB? I know some of us, including myself, would greatly appreciate it. 2. I know a lot of people want weapon balance changes, (or other areas of balance,) but I can't help but be a little concerned at the idea of people extremely new to the game trying to balance a game that's already mostly balanced. Are you planning on doing balance patches in the (relatively) near future, and if so how will you be familiarizing your team with APB to the point that you feel you understand the balance well enough to change it, especially considering many of the players in this game have thousands of hours logged and still disagree greatly about weapon balance. 3. For some reason RG removed the ability to do wheelies on some cars in APB in the console EU, which is a huge bummer because much of the fun of APB is its hilarious quirkiness, and wheelies could be really fun and allow you to do some amazing jumps. Furthermore, on a slightly different note, there used to be a community based around using wheelies and other cars as ramps to jump their cars onto buildings for fun, but RG removed the ability to stay on most buildings, even when you're not in a mission, so this community is now gone. So my question is, basically, are you going to have wheelies in your version of the PC EU, and would you consider removing the effects of out-of-bounds volumes on top of buildings while you're not in a mission?
  8. I'm so fucking glad I can submit statuses now.

  9. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SKAY!!!
  10. Uhmm, actually, what is the "topics" bar sorted by? Because it doesn't seem to be the newest topics? It seems to be the topics with the newest posts which is potentially useful to someone, but very different and not as useful to me at least.
  11. Salt? / 10 I'm just giving an honest rating, lol.
  12. 4/10 Not terrible in concept, but I wish it felt more integrated into the forum.
  13. The old APB forums had a section on the main page that showed the 10 most recently created topics. . . which was very useful so that we didn't need to search through every sub-forum to see what was happening. I would greatly appreciate it if this feature could be brought back. Also, I get that the new forums are more complicated, but is there any way to bring back a way to view and edit the raw code of a forum post? This was an extremely useful feature for a lot of reasons that I'll really miss.
  14. This used to sorta' be a feature but was removed at some point. It used to be that original copies of items were always editable and duplicate-able, but you could make cheaper duplicates of an item that could not be edited or duplicated (like current duplicates of items.)
  15. I agree with the rest of your post, but honestly, beside the AAEPD most legendaries are. . . well, not great, you pretty much use them because they're fun. I've owned every non-scout legendary at one point or another, and the only one I ever really mained was the Anubis, but that got nerfed and is no longer a competitive gun. Interesting idea, I'd honestly never thought of that one.
  16. They already stated that they're planning on reworking ARMAS pricing, and IMO JMBs are the least predatory lootboxes I know of, in that only thing you can't get from anything besides a JMB is the Fresno 4-slot.
  17. I totally agree with your sentiment, and hope what you're saying is true about laws, but I'm not sure since Matt Scott seemed to think otherwise. I want nothing more than for legendaries to continue to be able to be traded, just like you, lol.
  18. Messages saying my character has a nice ass are already cringy enough without VR. Seriously though, how would you put VR into APB.
  19. Totally depends on the country AFAIK. Agreed, there has to be something better. I don't honestly see much of a point in having legendaries as opposed to normal ARMAS guns if they aren't tradeable.
  20. My bad, I did not understand the way the notification options were set up, though I highly suggest you change the page layout because it's, in my opinion, confusing.
  21. If it was up to me there would be something along the lines of putting legendaries (tradeable or not) as high price Joker Store items, but I understand that this probable won't happen due to the hit it would cause to JMB sales. Alongside this, I'd keep old legendaries tradeable for the time being. Perhaps a way to keep JMB sales relevant would be making legendaries from JMBs account bound? But I dunno'. The problem is that where anti-lootbox laws are being put into place, it's often a totally different law in every country, so I don't know what he was referring to to be honest. An economy of what though? Lol. Sure, there will always be clothes, cars, and themes, but I predict that those will skyrocket in price, and a lot of people like me make all their own stuff so that's all irrelevant.
  22. For those who missed Kemp's Q&A Stream with Matt Scott, he said that in order to comply with laws around the globe they will be making it so that legendary weapons are no longer tradeable. This, in my opinion, causes tons of issues. One: Even if they reduce the price of JMBs or increase legendary drop rate, this means that APB will now have guns that REQUIRE you to buy RNG boxes to get them. As someone who dislikes RNG boxes, I think, while it is potentially a way around the legal issues with JMBs, it's a step backwards as far as the practical issue. Two: Legendaries are always a thing that newbies go to and say are P2W, and with Legendaries behind a paywall, what happens if and when an overpowered legendary is released? (There certainly have been OP legendaries before.) Furthermore, being able to say that there are ~23 fancy legendaries you can get in-game if you put in effort is a great feature of APB and a great way to refute APB being P2W. Three: I know this is rather specific, but the fact that there will no longer be free permanent explosives is a legitimate issue in my opinion. The AAEPD is an important part of the META, and removing the ability to get it in-game is a massive issue in my opinion. Four: APB will basically no longer have an economy, and will lose a massive potential money sink. There's already relatively little to spend money on in APB, much less millions and millions of APB$. With the removal of trading legendaries there will no longer be a substantial amount of high-price items in the game or really. . . honestly much of anything to spend APB$ on. Fifth: What will happen to old legendaries? Will they become untradeable and stagnant? Or will it become like, forgive the example, transferable machine guns in the U.S., which are an awkward part of law that will continually increase in value and rarity until they're bizarre relics that barely exist? I understand that you're between a rock and a hard place LO, but I ask you, please try and figure out another way, because the loss of legendary trading will be a huge hit to APB.

    OCA, why is?

The Manic and Curse are both in-line with the OCA, but yeah, the OCA buff was too much.
