  1. The game has been frankensteined too much over it's lifetime. I, for one, hope this game, or at least it's unique genre of gameplay, outlives its' ownership by LO and co. and moves into the next territory of gaming. At this point you can't say the developers haven't tried everything. Hell, even I had a spat with Revoemag over the negligence of what the community wants (i.e. APB Vendetta), but to be fair, I think what we all wanted was just a giant spotlight on our game so it could finally be completed. I'm going to give the game one last season of Gurren for my own personal interest and hopefully end on a level of satisfaction that ensures closure. Take care, -G23
  2. One thing that concerns me when it comes to the terminology of weapon balance is which category of balance is truly being promoted. I truly think any type of weapon redesign or impromptu weekly balances really needs to sit on the backburner until all missions are adjusted to an agreeable standard. Certain mission endings can be dictated very early on to us veteran players and I would love to see a redesign around the system notifying a player of what exactly their role is in the mission or objective. One fundamental change I would bring to missions is hacking satellites. This just isn't something incredibly physically demanding to a human being and I for one am tired of watching a 45 second circle of imminent doom while being an open target on a rooftop. We could take bits and pieces of missions or roles of a mission and really iron out the wrinkles with this game, make it more engaging and fun. I believe if we did this and prioritized it a ton of weapons would come back into the spotlight on their own.
  3. At this point even a heartfelt apology would seem misleading. "Gamerslast" this was the first phrase uttered to me on these forums in 2010. Now we know them as "Liarsfirst"
  4. sittin at the winchester wit a pint weighten for this ta all blowwww over
  5. This game has been going down the shitter since APB Vendetta was brainstormed
  6. This thread is redundant, and topics like this tend to divulge into pointless analogies or arguments. The reality is all you can do is keeping eating the BS they are feeding you or turn a blind eye to it and hopefully your wallet too. When vacationboy comes back I imagine it will go something like this: "Hey guys we did all this work and got nowhere, the team got exhausted dealing with it but they were able to enjoy their holidays and come back to work fresh, so maybe definitely probably this year we do the engine upgrade!!!" EDIT: Sorry let me address something in post.. I did not mean to insult anyone trying to help develop/code this game in it's current state nor have I ever. The developers of the current team that actually are doing things and working out the kinks of the system: I'm sure have plenty of great things to add to a resume after this. But the engine upgrade has always been a carrot on a stick for the community. It takes an entire team to make a game and it takes just as many to screw it up but no single person is solely responsible. (unless you count revoemag)
  7. less time and resources would have been better spent on a more successful sequel However, if you haven't been paying attention the life-cycle of the game goes like this Title Acquisition --> post mortem cleanup of the prior company's disasters --> Big Promises / High Ambition --> No Results --> Sell Out --> New Company Title Acquisition
  8. yea let's enjoy this new company that interjects a new vocabulary word every 'engine update' post. shaders, collision, threads, hyperthreads, threshold reservoirs, bitmapping,, construct allocation, foilage AI... i could go on and on EDIT: added the word 'post' Merged. Let me tell you something, if they were close Marketing would have happened. If it's this late in the year while people are wasting money on holidays, the marketing would have grabbed on. The reality is we MIGHT see it nov 2022, or nov 2023, or nov 2024... for as long as you sheep want to play this game until it becomes "engine upgrade the board game".
  9. $2000 per med spray/etc.... which some people use several times a match... spending tens of thousands of APB$ just to win matches is ridiculous! Things like that & remote detonator need to be a 1time use per mission at the very least. Imagine being new in this already huge skill ceiling game
  10. not a good sign, as the OP was suggesting, like watching a rerun of an old cartoon... we all know what happens next
  11. new AI requires an engine upgrade though
  12. didn't we have enough of these threads from years 2011-2019?
