  1. I fear that LO is going to nerf more weapons, I hope to god not.
  2. prob·a·bly: almost certainly; as far as one knows or can tell. So as far as I know and can tell we'll probably hunker down, but somebody else could say otherwise. Imagine if we all thought no more patches then a GM pops up and says something is in the works. This is why I used the word "probably". Because if I knew I would of said "It's for sure time to hunker down" LO should experiment with just matchmaking both factions against each other. No, it's not lore friendly or immersive. But it would be an interesting experiment to have crims and enfs against crims and enfs just to see what matchmaking would be like with a larger pool of players to select.

  5. Not a weapon balance thread, as I now believe in the philosophy: "APB players will always find something to complain about". I just want to know if there's gonna be any patches at all regarding anything, or if it's time to hunker down until the new engine arrives soon™ (Probably hunker down time)

    Matchmaking

    Get your patootie slapped by golds then go back to the hole you crawled out of. Good game design indeed. Let me start by telling you why APB matchmaking is not good. Good matchmaking: Matchmaking first takes a look at a pool of players usually separated by region. Say that that pool is about 500 players. (which is low I know) The matchmaking is able to take 10 players of equal skill according to accuracy/Kill death ratio/wins and losses and then separate the 10 into 2 teams of 5. at least 80% of the time the matches are made fairly and everyone has a good time. Now here's apbs matchmaking: There are 2 world servers in apb currently. Jehrico and Citadel. Two different sides of the planet. In Jehrico on a good day can see 1 full district 40/40 players. Citadel is much more fortunate with a couple of districts full, but this is irrelevant. APB now has to make a match. The most fun games available are going to be 4 vs 4 and higher as fun levels drop off at about 2 vs 2. So APB has to select 8 players out of a pool of 80 right? WRONG. APB has to pick 4 players from criminal (which is a max of 40) and 4 from Enforcer (max of 40) So APB has to dip it's hands into 2 separate pools to make a fair match to the best of it's abilities. This matchmaking works like 20% of the time and is ultimately upto which side of the law the good players are on. Are all the people who have been playing for 6 years on criminal? And all the new/casual players on Enforcer? Matchmaking then goes to work it puts 3 golds against 1 gold and 3 bronzes because that's the best it can do. Tweaking Threat will never fix an issue like this. Adding threat will only push golds into the next threat tier. Now, my general knowledge believes this is how LO plan to do matchmaking (which is only possible on the new engine) So imagine 2.1 is launched and LO were able to put in this new matchmaking. You join a 40/40 financial and matchmaking goes to work probably like it normally does, except now it can also dip it's hands into other financial instances. Say now instead of only being able to matchmake Financial East, it can matchmake Financial East AND West. Now lets say both those districts are full. Now the matchmaking goes from 40 people to matchmake to 80! That's double of what it was able to do. Now lets say LO can get a whole bunch of new players to play and now there's even more full districts. Now matchmaking can select a batch of enf/crim from 160 players! This will make for a better matchmaking experience overall just because the matchmaking can properly put equally match skilled players together. Of course this is all assuming APB can hold on for a bit longer. It's probably best to just think of the current version of APB 1.2 as a dead game with no hope. And 2.1 is a whole new game that just takes your progress from 1.2 .

  9. Just another quick question. Was gamersfirst absorbed into Little Orbit/do G1 employees work for LO now? Or does LO just own G1 assets and IPs now?
  10. Not this one: https://apbdb.com/ to be very clear. There was an APB data base I had been in but can't seem to find again. They overall layout was much more professional/pleasing to the eye with animations on the website (not like gun animations just HTML/CSS animations) Was wondering if anyone has the link/knows what the site was called. thx
  11. Too many symbols/too complex symbols will cause this. You can see if your design is too complex by looking at the bar in the bottom fill up. Putting symbols on that have 100 layers will make this bar go up faster.

    If anything, this is the best reason to remove them.
  13. neither do I, just hope for the future. If anything I hope premium now will be baseline for free players and premium will be double to help with the awful grind APB has. (I cry in 5 characters ;-;)
  14. Make the ones that exist currently remain as paid skins. Add new ones with this idea. It would be nice if it were call of duty style, where leveling up roles would yield skins for the role type...Like gold/diamond for shotguns and smgs if you max out pointman or something like that XD Once hitting the current max rank you'll unlock 2 skins for either enf or crim as well. F2P, game needs to make money some how. I'd rather see guns be more earnable and cosmetics be payed for since they yield no combat advantage and are only there to make you feel badass. This is true, give me something to unlock in apb and ill prob work towards it. maybe not directly but ill play more knowing that a reward is in store. Probably not. They retired for a reason. Mostly gameplay im sure. Skins wont bring back someone to a game they more or less mastered and got bored of. Maybe some, but very few I feel like wouldn't want to reinstall just for a skin whether it be limited time or not. Most legendaries either have 2 skins or no skins. It's part of what makes them unique and rare. If I saw say a condor with a non-legendary skin on it. I wouldn't know immediately unless I were to check my enemies weapons that it was infact a condor. I think a black and red skin for the ursus would be really slick tho.

    Weapon reskins.

    I have a feeling LO might want to totally remove the armas. Make JT more mainstream. I like how the purchasing of them goes. You buy enough JT not only do you get a chance at a legendary but you can also spend enough to get a golden box that can yield some awesome goodies. Maybe make ARMAS simply an account bound only type deal, since that's the only stuff I buy there now Be kinda stupid to by a character bound gun since most are in the JT. (I know not all, like the norseman for example)
  16. It's a population thing (maybe more so in NA). In NA's case adding more threat levels wouldn't do anything. Say you add something like: platinum as a threat. Suddenly bronzes are silver, silvers are gold and golds are plat, it doesn't really solve anything. I can totally back LO decision in wanting to hide threat level.

    If the content in the battle pass is good, I can get on board. But if it's lazy content, and or content that requires STOOPID amounts of grind. It'll just end up as insulting.

    Weapon reskins.

    it would be pretty scummy if say, you bought a CR5 and expected it to handle like an ntec...then one day LO changes it so it's suddenly not an NTEC. Depending on the person. This could stir a lot of uproar.

    My two cents!

    None, I think LO SHOULD implement a part of the hitbox that is the feet to take less damage. Because I hate getting kill when taking cover behind a car in waterfront with no other reliable cover. Correct me if im wrong but I think when you press the - / + keys it zooms the default position in and out, and further zooms make the camera zoom in while closer zooms make it zoom out. They already have been nerfed. They mainly were paired with the taser for a quick stun which was nerfed so you can't really do that anymore. And they do such little damage so a bounce or minor timer would only make them worst. Believe me I hate seeing people use them but I don't want them to be completely useless for those who do use them.
