gordIsMyName 104 Posted July 10, 2019 in the past, when LO bans, the game gets a massive uptick in ddos. it's a massive disruption to not only the players, but to LO as a company. so, here's what i think is happening... get a ddos that works and make sure it works let it run for a while... test it... tune it... confirm it does protect although not perfect, what is cookin' now is certainly helping (and probably cost tens of thousands of dollars) add a totally new anti-cheat learn from what BE and the others didn't provide give it some time to learn and profile as all these apps require with all the cheating going on now, it's getting quite the education time to clean house kick the cheaters with reasonable confidence prep for the pile of support tickets huddle in place and brace for the ddos rinse, repeat... all of this has been done before, but it lacked the ddos protection. so it was 2 steps forward, 1 step back. and, this isn't something LO would broadcast to the community. nor have they in the past. thus their silence. i'm unclear as to what uniqueness the new anti-cheat provides, but... i am wondering if it can help with commercially available exploits. and updating the hack wouldn't really be worthwhile at this point for a 'company' as it would be hard to recoup the investment given the small player base. is it possible that 'every little thing... gonna be alright...' ? or... have i had one too many cups of coffee today? 3 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Only thing I would've added to this is that while LO remind silent, they issued an apology to the players alienated by the silence. But that's just me. If they work with other games using the same engine why dont they work with APB? BattleEye, FairFight and EAC are supposed to be the top dogs in the business. I don't remember if RTW made it that way or if G1 did either way for APB to grow and bring in more people , we need more districts and events etc. and for that the interface is a must to be worked on.
