  1. So it would be the first weapon to get stronger and stronger up to an amount with range after DMR? This sounds a bit silly for a shotgun when an ntec dominated almost all ranges for what? 6 years?

True, but going on a game that relies on spread as a benefactor for balance it's not unheard of.. even now if you were to go against someone with a close range weapon and fire the shredder using hip fire, youd most likely lose.. I do feel like something needs done, but lowering damage to the point to where it takes more shots to kill just makes it a spamming gun like nfas
  3. I still feel like the range is fine but the damage is a bit over the top. Just for an idea, what would you have them change it to? Wouldn't it be better to rather change its accuracy or lower the number of pellets to either add rng or reward well aimed shots rather than take away both it's close range and medium range power? At 30+m it's still taking 4+ shots because of the pellets that spread wider
  4. If you touch up a set of weapons the bring them up to a standard, you only leave non meta weapons behind. They made it very clear this is the first step of balancing weapons and will continue to bring the others up to that standard. Bringing shotguns up didn't kill the other meta weapons, it just left other irrelevant weapons irrelevant.

Dont really understand the issue with shotguns.. shotguns should be absolute monsters in cqc, and having a hybrid weapon that has farther range and hard damage but lacks firerate isn't unheard of.. it's still best by ars from their range. it should go shotguns,smgs/carbines,ars/lmgs in order in terms of cqc power
  6. But it's a step in the right direction. It's a slow process... seems like instead of going from class to class, they are trying to go by what's used least and finding ways for those weapons to be more relevant, which has worked very well in other games. Like you said, shotguns seem so strong because they are a distance niche weapon.. the same way a sniper or obeys would seem op if you're both in the open with some distance between you
  7. funny.. new guns enter the meta and are on par with the ntec and all of a sudden it's an issue, yet every mission before has an ntec or hvr. guns becoming meta or balanced with what's meta doesnt make them broken.. it makes them fixed

  9. The pellet change was made to try and make up for poor hitreg, nothing else. This. And the inconsistency of damage output.. no weapon is made to be easier to kill with than another imo

  11. I played shredder before for its hybrid-ness, swarm for its hybrid-ness, and preferred the nssw>ntec for the bloom so this update it pretty amazing to me.. I still beat shredders with the ntec and nssw and the other shotguns destroy it (have yet to try strife) in close range so idk why people are crying so hard
  12. Basically... people are butthurt because they did what we wanted in one patch. Brought more weapons up to the ntec's standards. cant wait until they go over smgs and more rifles. good job LO.
  13. If you go off of full damage, sure. But only someone who's never seen the spread at 40m would count that.. or use common sense. Using anything incorrectly or expecting any weapon to dominate at all ranges is bad. Thank you for the sarcasm.

The ntec still beats all the shotguns from the range it's meant for (yes, even the shredder) IR gives us different ways to play-hope they give their ideas on other mods like HB OCAs beat shotguns that have IR on them unless the shotgunner is correctly using a corner/cover People wanted more guns to be usable and balanced with meta.. now that the JG is super powerful up close (as it should be since it is a niche weapon) and the shredder is good at close range or gives up a little close range power to reach out to medium ranges, people have huge issues with them. Meanwhile the COBR-A is also brought up to meta as well as the AR-97 being more usable and no one complains.. because they are "assault rifles". I'd like to see more weapon balance changes like going over all SMGs (Hoenir is amazingly fun, but just bad..) and other burst and semi-auto rifles as well
  15. I like the change to IR, and so far the only change I don't like on the weapons is the SBRS still has unneeded recoil and could use more hard damage lol
  16. I think if they get rid of the stupid recoil (look at that muzzle brake FFS) and increased the hard damage, it'd be used more.. still keep it a 3 shot gun for players
  17. Flechettes are more in line with the way that the NL9 works though. the NL9 fires a taser dart/slug.. it's a big plastic and metal piece. Flechette shells are full of darts made for extra distance and piercing power with a loss of stopping power.. it can either be like 40 little darts or like 6 big, scary ones lol
  18. The shredder seems strong because of how close most combat is in APB.. It needs something, just not sure what. Maybe spacing the damage between 3 balls instead of how ever many it has now? This would be less forgiving for those who tend to spray it when in CQC. I see it fixed, but recognize that it's an issue somehow.. it's beat by the Ntec (which is the most balanced weapon imo) when it tries to take on an ntec from medium range, and beat by the OCA when it's outfitted with IR3 in CQC. I don't think the damage is the issue, but maybe the accuracy when in marksmanship mode? Pellet count?

I think if it were brought down to a 3-ball, it would be fine.. then again, with the way the new pellet system works, it would still be doing 350+ damage for 2/3 balls hitting.. you could also say it's firing fleschette right now which would further explain the range Like I said, it still loses to ARs at that range. VERY RARELY would you be killing in 3 shots past 30m and when you do, you've got IR on which means lowered firerate and less effectiveness up close (and perfect aim) All weapons should be balanced around the Ntec, which seems to do fine against the shredder which is why I say it seems fine atm. A single shotgun having a higher range than others isn't unheard of in a game, but I do like how the shredder is being seen as op now that people are actually using it.. meanwhile the jg is impossible to go against if they have a corner lol.. but again, that's kind of how it should be since it's a very situational, niche weapon

They didnt fix it, its unbalanced, hope they add some damage to markship mode or the gun is useless in my eyes. marksmanship mode is just for more accurate, further shots.. you get 10% less accuracy to make up for it being more versatile. As for the Shredder... I see it as fixed finally.. it's always had the hard damage, and it still gets beat by mid range assault rifles and other shotguns so it's fine
  21. honestly, I feel like shotguns SHOULD be the absolute best in CQC with skill to the point where people kind of cry that it's OP if they rush, but at the same time, I feel like everything should be beatable. The JG seems to kill in 2 hits with ease, and I don't think there's a problem with the damage at all, but I do think that the damage dropoff needs to be closer (less range) or more dramatic (less damage outside of effective range) I've been using the shredder.. It was one of my favorites before the buff because of the universal damage from it (decent health damage and good hard damage), but when I put IR3 on it, it seems to really reach out and do decent damage.. it still gets beat plenty by ntec at close-mid range like it should though so I'm not so sure the shredder has issues. Haven't even tried the CSG or NFAS yet.
  22. Turns out it was neither OS update nor GPU update.. Windows Defender needed a small update, then cleared cache... now it works. BE, why you so cray cray?
  23. scanned system, nothing came up.. Legal copy of windows.. Possibly issues between GPU driver and windows update?
  24. So I can no longer play APB and Battleye thinks there's an issue... Literally the only thing I've done is turn secure boot and fast boot in my bios off. If the game feels the need for THAT much control over my system, then it doesn't need to run at all.
  25. I'm a fan of this since accuracy/spread is one of the most important things to me when selecting and modding a weapon.. but I do think 21% is a bit harsh. Maybe more like -4%,-8%,-12% or something like that
