  1. The original RTW matchmaking and threat systems was very noob friendly. It allowed all sorts of ranks/skill-levels to play together. It did not have such a rapid shift in threat based on a shorter period of playing and so was a more stable indicator of actual threat... and it gave the veterans the notoriety and respect they craved... along with giving the noobs a fighting chance by way of vastly greater numbers of them matched against the higher threat lvl players. It also had the mentoring system, where veternas would actually spend a little time teaching the noobs tricks and tactics. What G1 did to the game is unforgivable. The humor, the noob-friendly helpers, and the more forgiving threat system were all ditched in favor of the overly intense, winner take all, destroy all noobs mentality of Threat Segregation which created the fake golds who play in bronze and dethreat to do it. The whole game changed, and we've not seen anything but hate, toxicity and noob whoopass ever since. Naturally no new player would come back to such a game. And the population declined in consequence. All LO has to do is revive the old, original, noob friendlier system.
  2. First, you cry. Second you make a forum post Third you put a little @MattScott thingy to highlight it's importance and kill him with useless paperwork overload. And Fourth, you pray to Tiggs.
  3. If the Dev team could incorporate some of the tactical advantages of current cheats into the game as unlocks or in specific missions, while utilizing some coding to prevent or kick on heightened detection for same usage in other missions, the game might actually be more fun... and of course, who would pay for an advantage, that's no longer an advantage? It might make the game more interesting. Alas it's not my screenshot but one easily pulled off the internet, which have been floating around for years. That one's probably long been detected and discontinued by now Cookie, don't fret.
  4. Point 1 is accusing "hackusators" of spreading "paranoia" which implies a psychiatric delusion not founded on reality. Point 2 is a blanket acknowledgment of the rampant cheating APB has had, and to some degree continues to have... which rather invalidates Point 1. But don't take it serious, I was having a bit of humor there. What do we do? Well there's the million dollar question. For far too long the solution has been, if you can't beat 'em... join 'em. Perhaps LO's Dev team could look into incorporating some of the cheats into the actual game... at least it would create a more even playing field.
  5. RIP Matt... he seemed like such a nice guy too.
  6. Maybe we just need a Purgatory district for cheaters to cheat to their hearts content. Oh wait we already have Fight Club.
  7. Lol the dude in the video is a cheater who gets kicked, then rerolls to continue his cheats. " sure misses a lot for a cheater lul." Guess poor Cookie has never heard of toggling a cheat "on" and "off" to reduce chances of detection. Point 1. Spreading paranoia... blowing cheating as an issue way out of proportion. Point 2. People just reroll and continue cheating and nothing can be done about it... Mmmkay
  8. He just panicked and ran to the forums. Once he got his cash there was nothing more to say. LMAO at all you overly serious people who downvoted my attempt at humor.
  9. "Cheating in online games is defined as the action of pretending to comply with the rules of the game, while secretly subverting them to gain an unfair advantage over an opponent." So when I'm killing a guy, but suddenly "lag" and he winds up beside me and kills me it's not a cheat? Or when I'm behind a wall taking cover and 'lag" out of cover and realize I'm no longer near the wall at all but out in the open being shot dead... it is harmless "fun?"
  10. True, as I trialed a few for the sale 'D Just had a couple more in mind down the road but... welp I already trialed 'em ;D Now that the sale is gone that discount would be enticing ;D
  11. If LO is smart, every month they would refresh the ability to trial a gun since, you may have liked a trial gun before but bought another, and 2 months later be interested in this gun but, the trial (and discount) have expired so you just never buy it. I imagine there are more missed sale opportunities because of a silly 1x thing /w discounts.
  12. Fix SBSR IRS...... ..... ..... it sux hardxcore. Like it should have a prono rating. i mean it really suXXX
  13. There wasn't dethreating because you didn't have to be a certain threat level to enter a certain threat district to any advantage at all. The system was based over a longer period of performance so threat ratings were a lot more stable... and the desirability of being a prestigious person entering the district as a Gold Threat 10 player, and there were very few of them, was more of an ego boost to certain elitest clans, so dethreat wasn't actually a problematic issue the way it became after threat segregation. Moreover the matching system was more fair, because it ranked your performance and gave you op which was worthy... and the poor newbs a fighting chance. Uhm, no. You obv were never here for closed or open beta or the original RTW or the early APB reloaded. Originally there was NO THREAT SEGREGATION AND NO THREAT DISTRICTS. And No, there were NO COMPLAINTS about the original system until the Threat Segregation Patch which BROKE and DESTROYED the system and was unrecoverable after G1's fubar staff of fubars fubared the game forever leaving us this broken shit.
  14. Threat Segregation is the cause of all our calamities, the original RTW system worked. A screenshot of a weak team getting their butts handed to them speaks loud enough. As I said before, the deeper issue is player retention, esp of new players. And no one is going to come back after dying scores of time and having no chance to succeed and enjoy the missions due to horribad imbalance and exploitation of the matching system so that the best players get matched with ones who cannot even properly mount a defense. The game just becomes shooting ducks in a pool, as there is no longer any "sport" in it... and this is why we have a "DEAD" game with subpar population. but the solution is not actually tormenting the dethreaters... they are only a symptom of a very broken system, that hopefully gets replaced by one that's more fair.
  15. You have a point but... when they were banning "all cheaters" and that included false bans... THERE WAS NO GAME POPULATION. Banning 17,000+ accounts did NOT stop the cheating! LO has the right idea, temp bans escalating. Although I would have worked it differently... temp bans but rapid kicks from game on suspicion with escalating 15 min, 30 min, 1 hour, 1 day lockouts. If a GOOD player can work with support to establish he was not cheating... then compensation in the form of a couple days free premium would be warranted... as in someone constantly kicked due to a legit program incompatible /w BE. Harshness doesn't stop cheating it just make rage cheaters. I would MUCH rather have a very suspicious character kicked during the mission... then watch him rack up so much cash he buys legendaries for his new reroll alt accounts. Plus tormenting the longsuffering community forced to be steamrolled by cheats endlessly for months at a time before detection.
  16. It's not about the threat color... since dethreating masks true skill... it's about how hard their little team got steamrolled by the dethreated golds who clearly were out of their league. How many people do you think join a match and want to get killed 34x and come back to play this game for more of the same because everything is messed up right now? That's the point, not Hex or w/e or threat colors.
  17. Hex got 5 kills as a mid to high silver. I don't think it's comparable with the dethreated golds who landed 17 kills each. Ergo, Hex is prolly a true silver who fits in bronze district. or would it have been better for you for those 2 bronzies to have been matched with another bronzie to make the horribad matchmaking due to the dethreat exploitation even more horribad?
  18. I bought the SBSR IRS... holy crap that gun is crap. At least the DMR gets off a stun sometimes, and has no recoil. This gun has crazy recoil. slow firing (compared to ISSR variants) and welp, your lucky to get 2 shots off, almost never a 3rd kill shot. The dmg you do to cars is subpar compared to an alig or DMR... in every conceivable way it is just sad.... really like I think the Anubis is better. I hear they are balancing the Coronor version but... hot damn this one is bad bad bad.
  19. Sometimes that actually is true, and even the rerolls steamroll players. But according to the scoreboard, the dethreated golds rolled the hell out of the op.
  20. On the BRONZE district though where the dethreated golds are not supposed to be trolling and steamrolling and chasing off the new playerbase... and destroying the game population. Matt's team just seriously needs to roll back Threat Segregation entirely and restore the original RTW system to save the game. It was the biggest destruction G1 committed against the original game. Not only do the lower ranks/threats get steamrolled... the golds really don't have many options either. There shouldn't be any threat segregation at all. It should be restored to how it originally was... when no one even complained about the system until the tsunami of threat segregation fundamentally borked the game... and left us with this unjust shipwreck.
  21. Nerfing weapons merely reduces them. Balancing weapons brings a series of adjustments to various weapons which amount to trade-offs to avoid anything being overpowered. They are two different concepts, although a "nerf" might be in order, "balancing" technically implies greater care not to devalue and break the gun whereas an ordinary nerf is applied without consideration of balancing, and simply a knee-jerk reaction to playerbase complaints. but do write more convoluted essays which are inherently dishonest if it pleases you. I used basically disctionary definitions of these concepts. If you have an issue, it's with the gaming community which established these definitions, and not me.
  22. Balancing is working with the gun to bring it into balance with other guns. Nerfing is removing a buff that a gun previously had without the intention to balance it. Balances can bring "nerfs" for some guns but also bring "buffs" as well. 1. "In video gaming a nerf is a change to a game that reduces the desirability or effectiveness of a particular game element." Etymology of “Buff” and “Nerf” as used in video-game slang 2. "Game balance is a video game design concept where the strengths of a character or a particular strategy are offset by a proportional drawback in another area to prevent domination of one character or gaming approach." What is Game Balance?
