Hey guys! We've had some pretty great initiatives by the community lately, so I wanted to call attention to some of these efforts and give them a little bit more recognition for all their hard work making the APB community more awesome. First, we have a Halloween costume contest that was recently put up by the folks over at Breakwater/apb.social. There are several categories to choose from to get your creative juices flowing, and we have agreed to put the winners from each category into the Joker Store for Halloween! Whether you are a new or an experienced designer, you should definitely check out the details here: Next, the CET group has been putting on an amazing tournament these last few weeks. If you haven't checked them out already, you absolutely should. Not only are there some pretty impressive prizes on the line, but there has been an inspiring community effort to provide quality shout-casting and coverage for all their matches. We have been so impressed, we are putting them up on our YouTube channel so you guys can catch all the action you might have missed (the files are pretty big, so it might take a bit before we have every match, but we are putting together the full playlist as we speak): Their latest match is going to be held Saturday at 5pm UTC on their Twitch channel. Give it a go! Sakebee

Why was the Scoped N-Tec silently nerfed?
Sakebee replied to mojical's topic in General Discussion Archive
Hey guys - good catch! The change wasn't supposed to be silent, but I can see how our communication could have caused some confusion. Speaking with the design team, they didn't call out specifically that the scoped version was changed because it is considered a subset of the N-TEC 5 category, which we did mention was getting changed in our blog post. The idea was that it would be unwieldy to call out every single variant when the parent gun gets a change and, unless we state otherwise, changes to the parent gun will also affect variants of that gun. Our apologies if that wasn't clear from the initial blog. -
Hey everyone, Whether you are in an area that is experiencing a second wave or one of the lucky few that have things under control, covid continues to be a part of our current landscape. We stand by our commitment to our community and to making these uncertain times a little more enjoyable. As such, we are continuing free premium for everyone through the end of October. For everyone out there, please take all the necessary precautions for yourselves, your loved ones, and your communities. Stay safe, practice social distancing, and use a mask in crowded areas or if you need to venture out doors. We continue to get support tickets regarding this free grant. Before you submit a ticket, please read the following: For those of you who didn't have premium already - yay! You should be all set. For those of you who had premium before, there is currently a display issue where it looks like your premium is counting down. Please don't worry! We are aware of the issue, and there is no need for you to submit a support ticket. Your premium will be automatically extended for the length of the free premium period. You are not losing any time or missing out. If you have a reoccurring subscription and find yourself needing to tighten your belts as we remain on lock down, we understand. You will need to end your subscription manually. As above, you will get the automatic premium extension equal to the duration of this event and you will not lose any of your paid time. We hope this answers any questions you might have. Bee safe! Sakebee

My understanding is that this has already been fixed via hotifx. If you are still getting sorting issues, please let us know.

Here is the list of known issues for the Unsung Story Alpha Client. To give feedback, please visit our Discord server. We are primarily interested in impressions about the flow, feel, and balance of the game, though if you find anything broken we would appreciate those reports in the #unsung-play-reports channel. Mission 1 – If your main character has been downed at the end of combat, the end cutscene model will also appear downed Mission 1 – During the opening cutscene, the Microbot and Automatank portraits will flash red before becoming blue again Mission 3 – Steam Vent volume doesn’t change with Volume Options Mission 4 – Ranged units are able to attack through buildings Mission 6 – Stair collision acts like steps rather than a ramp Mission 6 – There is a seam in the level geometry Mission 6 – Harmonic Fissure volume doesn’t change with Volume Options Mission 6 – Downed Automatank remains during cutscene Mission 6 – Background music is missing Mission 7 – Background music is missing Various text issues Lighting is not yet finished on some cutscenes The hair clips through the Guardian helmet There is a seam on the hood of the Archer Character placement circles can clip into the environment Highlighting a mission does not currently show its location on the map. [Showcase] Face Customization
Sakebee replied to Ruler's topic in Breakwater Galleria (Creations/Fan Art)
From what I can tell, the character thread focuses more on full body pictures. I see no harm in something that focuses on the face and gives a place to recognize the people who put time and effort into creating awesome things and sharing them with the community. Personally, I would rather enable community interaction than quibble over categories, but if we observe that it causes confusion or clutter we can reevaluate down the road. -
Resupply Boxes were priced lower than intended

Merged thread - Removal of several reactions

I had a bit of a discussion about this change earlier. For context, you guys can find my answers there if you are interested: -
Hey guys - I was just informed that we will be doing some background maintenance during this patch window in addition to the changes listed in the OP. The expected downtime will change from 4 hours to 6 hours accordingly. I have updated the OP to reflect these changes.

Merged thread - Removal of several reactions
Sakebee replied to SmilyFace's topic in General Discussion Archive
As I alluded to above, this isn't an attempt to prevent negativity. Rather, this is an effort to channel how feedback is presented. We welcome all feedback, positive or negative (provided our forum rules and TOS are followed). There is no effort here to prevent anyone from explaining why we (or someone else on the forums) are wrong. Rather, by removing the ability for people to anonymously press a downvote button and leave it at that, we are attempting to encourage this kind of more robust engagement. -
Yes, you are able to preview clothing items in the Joker Store. Also, while you can't yet preview all items in a bundle at the same time, we do support going through and looking at bundle items individually.

Merged thread - Removal of several reactions

This is a change we have been looking at for a while. I did an audit and the downvote system didn't have any instances where it improved community interactions. They contribute very little and yet are used as a vehicle for some people to promote conflict without providing anything useful. If someone disagrees with a post, they can use their words and let the OP know why. Having an explanation if someone disagrees rather than an anonymous downvote makes for a much healthier environment for everyone involved.- 115 replies

Hello everyone, A new patch is going up onto the Live servers for PC. This patch will be happening on Wednesday 9/16/2020. The Patch is scheduled to start at 9 AM UTC and will last up to 6 hours. Console will have its normal maintenance starting at 9 AM UTC as well. OVERVIEW Our PC patch this week covers a number of important changes to the game. First, we are making clothing more accessible by fundamentally reimagining how bundles work and by bringing over 100 clothing items to the Joker Store. Second, we are beginning the process of balancing weapons in APB. Finally, third, we are making changes to Baylan missions based on community feedback. You can read all about these changes in the linked posts above! With regards to our weapon changes, is important to stress that these are the first step towards establishing a baseline "Meta" that we can build from in the future. Accordingly, this patch may not address weapons that are unused or underpowered at the moment. That doesn't mean they are forgotten. We aim to give every weapon some ability to compete, but to do so we will need your informed feedback. Please spend some time playing with the guns before letting us know how these changes work for you! PC CHANGES/FIXES Clothing Changes Bundles now apply discounts based on owned items. You can read all about this change here. Over 100 clothing items have been added to Ophelia in the Joker Store. Known Issue - Certain clothing items purchased from the Joker Ticket store can be refurbished but are not able to be traded. The items being untradeable is working as intended. The ability to refurbish them is broken and will be fixed in a subsequent patch. Known Issue - Attempting to purchase character bound clothing items with a full inventory will fail but will not produce an error message. This will be fixed in a subsequent patch. Weapon Balance We applied a first balance pass to bring weapon types in-line with each other. You can read all about specific changes and their reasoning here. Like the OBIR, the FFA was also balanced. Specifics didn't make it in to the above blog post, so we are providing them to you here: Bolt timer: false -> true (Nerf) Reserve ammo: 240 -> 144 (Nerf) Mission Balance One of the big takeaways from the community was that, while many of you preferred territory control, you also wanted Baylan missions to be shorter. We reduced the average Baylan mission length to about 10 minutes from 15 minutes by adjusting the amount of points required to win if one team is dominating. We also reduced the time it takes to do certain objectives in the game. We have reduced these objectives from 30 seconds to between 15 to 20 depending on the objective. We have adjusted most missions related to driving cars around. On average, these missions have been reduced from 10 minutes to 7 minutes. All VIP missions have been changed to 23 lives for the attacker and 8 lives for the VIP. Stages where attackers are defending objectives have had their time limits adjusted so that multiple objectives are taken into account. We have made various adjustments to missions that were missed in previous patches. This post is cross-referenced in Game Updates for your convenience. Sakebee
