All of us: please, do something about .45 AP/OBIR disgusting meta LO: Hey, remember the times when N-HVR was broken? Well, here we go... *and a few secondary guns changes that won't make the weather anyway*
-
They did excuse, but it sounded more like a joke, considering the fact that he was banned for the entire summer (best time to play). All he got for a few months of being unfairly banned and wrecking his nerves trying to reach out at least to someone was the mail saying "we apologize for the inconvenience". Everyone else got the same mails.

The new matchmaking system is good
Nerima replied to xnyuu's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
Would be really cool if this was actually the case, but... I've tryied to play a few times and it seems like the matchmaking now is more amout-based than threat-based. I consistantly get 2-3 silvers or bronzes in my team against 3-4 golds and backup isnt available because team are "even". That feels even more frustrating than it was before. -
EAC is banning for using Flaws's configs now
Nerima replied to Hexerin's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
If you're homeless.. JuSt BuY a HoUsE???? EAC is one of the best anti-cheats out there but it needs consistant watch and adjustments for specific game- and LO clearly doesn't have enough resourses for that. If it never happened to you - good for you, be glad for being a bit more lucky than many others. There's been many confirmed false-ban cases for absolutely random reasons. I dont think this particular one has anything to do with flaws but I do believe we're looking at another random EAC glitch that must be attentively looked into by devs. -
It's been a while but the time wasn't wasted. I assume it would be fair to make an update and talk a bit. Thanks to everyone who replied (even these who was making jokes) - I believe it played a role First of all - my friend got his accounts back! It was indeed a falseban and every my assumption in the original post turned out to be correct. Image ghost remains in the grey area and I would not recommend anyone using it - but EAC wasn't supposed to ban players for such stuff. It was indeed setted up incorrectly and been protecting the game not from actual cheats but pretty much from everything. And yes, cases like "banned for opening telegram" Indeed took place. Investigation and sorting continued until the end of last year. I got in touch with many players with similar cases (image ghost specifically and other bans that looked random at first), and as far as i know, everyone got their unbans. So I'd call this a succes. Thanks everytone once again. Now a few commentaries: This is not "unknown", the oppsite - it is wery weill known in the creators community. Every single APB designer I know persnally used it at least once. About "free software" - image ghost was created in the era on windows 7 and basically had no analogs at that time. And been lying on everyone's harddrives every since. Imagine - creating stuff is the only reason you play this game. You've been inactive for a while and finally decide to hop into social and make some symbols, what would you do: A) Run the simple program you've been using for ten years that you have on your hands and there is never been a single case of it being bannable or prohibited OR B) For some reason go google the alternatives just becuase why not? I may be wrong, but I never seen any warnings. Just common "don't use 3d party software" is not a warning in this case. But I do agree with you on the "communication" point. This tool does not hook into anything. It does only 2 thigs - make an image above all windows and make the window semi-transparent. It doesnt even work when running the game fullscreen. As turned out - image ghost was just "one of" - many players got banned for other random stuff. Anticheat is not a magic button - you need to work with it. When you eat oranges for 10 years you dont consider sudden death from citrus allergy as a risk. I have like 20 3rd party programs running in the background every time a play, and every and each one of them has as much nothing to do with the game as image ghost. If i'm risking my account every time i dont use separate clean OS without anything but apb installed - i'd rather not play the game at all, you know? Yes, discussion of an existing and serious problem was the perfect place for silly jokes. To be clear - the vast majority of my creations throughout these years were original - i wouldnt be a tiny bit bothered if this tool became prohibited. This topic wasn't about whinning for my friend or this exact program specifically, but about overall incorrectly implemented anti cheat, poor communication, irresponsibility, and development team indifference. In the end all my guesses were confirmed and the problem was solved. But cookie being sarcastic and mocking everyone insted of trying to help is the perfect reflection of everything I was talking about. That's sad and dissapointing. Don't look for a double bottom here, that's called i n c o m p e t e n c e

This text may end up being too long because i am graphomaniac, but i really want you to fully read it and enter the discussion, as what I'm about to tell really seem to ba a serious problem My good old friend and clanmate that we've been playing with for a decade now was banned a while ago, and no, this is not another whining topic where actual cheater trying to redeem himself, because we know exactly what happened and the problem is actually pretty global (as global as at can be in such a small remaining community). There is very old and simple program called "image ghost" written by ShadReX from Red Squadron (one of the oldest clans in apb). I dont know if current devs team are, but all of the old players must be familliar with it, as well as every apb creator who've spent more time in social district creating stuff than in actual combat. Basically, this program lets you take any image and place it above all of the windows with adjustable transparecy, to help you recreate any image in apb editor - it was helping people create amazing symbols for more than 10 years now. And yes, now it's bannable. Why? Because LO didnt bother to actually configure the EAC to fit their game, not to mention that possibly they have no idea about such things, because apb is one of the games where community keeps itself alive (just hire actual apb veterans to run support team, really). My friend was banned in social district, in symbol editor, we were shocked at first but now we know exactly why. Of course, we were trying to reach out to someone, GMs, technical support, streamers, even Matthew himself, but everyone's disregarding. Support does not even try to look deep into the problem, they simply respond with "contact EAC relating all the ban associations". But of course guys over at EAC have no idea what image ghost is - because it's part of apb specifically, written by apb player for apb players, it's so specific no one but LO are resposible for sorting such cases. I'm trying keep my cool, even tho the situatin is as bad as gets, apb veteran who was trying to get back to the game gets banned for the thing that's basically already implemented into the game's DNA (or at least to creator's community DNA), and guys in charge, who's driving the game 4x times less than we've been playing are acting as careless as they posiibly can be. But I'm here not even to unban him, again, this is not our first day in this game, we know that getting personal attention from devs is nearly impossible, always has been. But i want to bring to light actual problem - i'm pretty sure he's not the only one who's been false banned for the same reason. EAC is not setted up correctly, image ghost is just "one of the" problems, false bans are here, we need to draw attention to this problem, to help others and at least try to rectify the situation This specific case hurts me so much because many of you know me exactly by my apb design works, this is the reason why I started playing this game and seeing it being destroyed just by ignorance is painful. I understand that rules may change, that image ghost for some reason may be actually officially bannable now, but such things must be announced, and in longly stagnating game banning people for such things is simply distructive.

03/15 Maintenance Announcement (Build#1359)
Nerima replied to Ritual's topic in General Discussion Archive
So? I assume the maintenance should be done by now, but servers are still down -
Yea this one is sick. WTB NO 195+ RESTRICTED MODS DM
-
Turning servers down friday evening for 1 hour at online peak? God wont save this game Like it's so major that fixing it earlier was too early, but fixing it tomorrow morning would be too late
-
Problem was the language. But I figured it out, had to remember how to create -language=1033 shortcut (kinda rought after all these years) Also, I wonder why DefaultInput.ini does not reset, but BaseEngine - does It's still kinda shame that cap removing is written in the patch note, but launсher (read "running from steam") instatly removes it. Also, steam patch note still wasn't updated
-
Okay a figured it out... m8 what the heck stil tryna figure out which file does what? fix it please... you know disinformation on the official steam page is not good at all not completely figured it out tho, because when i modify baseengine launcher istantly brings it back. and launching the game from binaries has some... problems why would you even include this "guide" in the patch notes if everything's wrong with it?
-
So, has anyone tried to remove 128fps cap? Because for some reason whenever I start the game .ini file resets to the original values and i'm yet to figure out why

Generally speaking people who can unmistakably distinguish a hacker from a really good player do not hackusate. You need a lot of expirience to do that, and when you get to this point you don't really care anymore. So I never had a feeling that whiners in chat treat themselves as a gamegods.

Why do we still have such a huge amount of forum sections and rules of topic segregation are still in tact? I mean, entire community corner is completely dead (obviosly) in early August i visited breakwater galleria to post some recent videos and wrote this Now after entire 2 months I came back to check that secion and there is not even a single new topic or even reply - my post is still on the very top And my 18 month old post is still on the first page, at this point it's simply a contrary to common sense I'm not complaining about low forum activity of course, It's unavoidable, but If we have only one last forum section somewhat alive why don't allow players post EVERYTHING game-related here?

「APB:R Montage」Polaris - Hello it's me again
Nerima replied to Nerima's topic in Breakwater Galleria (Creations/Fan Art)
Thats true. Been a while since i was making videos regulary, so It's kinda challeging to keep everything in touch, especially audio. Gonna work on that in upcoming videos. About anime thing - actually I'm not really that of an anime guy. But Im into japanese electronic music scene (and it's huge) so it's native for me to base my editing on that, and all the other anime vibe comes after it to keep everything consistant. -
I simply hate when stuff like this happen. If you making adjustments to weapons make sure you do it properly, keeping in mind things like presets. This is simply how it should work in the correct game development process. I'm not against this obeya nerf, I'm against this hell of a mess. I fell into this before - with jg knock knock. When cj in jg was meta I decided not to buy 3-slotted version in favor of knock-knock, simply because keeping enough modification when you have 10 characters is near impossible. Then they ""adjusted"" cj in shotguns and ever since then its a deadweight in my inventory. I even contacted support a few times about this topic - and of course they wont do nothing. Even such a simple thing as changing my unplayable knock-knock to proper 1140. This is not fine at all, regardless if bz was a good gun or not. God talking about this without swearing is tough.

i wounder why would we still have an entire separate secion for stuff like this when the only one section that still alive is general discussion like "breakwater galleria" is cool and all for like 2013, but not for the current times when we have like 4 new topics here per year with no activity in them whatsoever for me as one of a few players who still make apb content not having any opportunity to actually show it to remaining playerbase is extremely frustrating and exhausting here's new short video tho. nothing serious, gonna upload something better later much love<3

So I assume this gun's name now refers to its damage, right?
