Hi everyone and hope you're all doing okay.

 

It's kind of a weird question I guess, and I'm not posting from the character it happened on...however...

On 15/09 I had an interaction with someone that could be seen as being sexually harrassed.  Who do I bring this to the attention of, and how do I do it?

You can do one or both of, Report the person by clicking their name in chat, which will show a 'W then the name, you use your arrow keys to back space to the W and back space it out, then replace it with Report in front of the name. This will bring up the report menu which has two drop down boxes.

You pick Harassment or communication on the first box, then Sexual on the second box, then there is a small note area where u can put what 

they said to you. You also want to print the time of the chat and your world and district being east west fin or wf, so the devs can isolate the right 

chat log to read. That said, if LO does discipline the person, it may only be a 'silencing for a few days. 

Best thing is to block that person, click the name and replace the W with ignore. 

Ignoring will stop all chat communication between you two, and it will also silence any music they play from you. 

Although you can still be bothered by their horn or gunfire. 

I wish you Luck, remember their objective is to get under your skin, Don't let them see it bothers you

Harassment has always been a problem in APB. There are many trolls in this game, most of them unmarried with pathetic lives, so they will seek a victim to amuse themselves with.

Worst you can do to them is taking away that satisfaction. 
Bottom line defense vs such creeps is your acknowledgment and understanding that this is just video game, that this is just a random creep you will never ever have interaction with, in your real life and its just an irrelevant creep stranger.
Its internet, you dont handle the creeps in APB any other way than you would handle them on reddit, youtube or DM's. Which would be, block/ignore, report and move on with your life. 

Expecting justice with low capacitated LO at these days would be naive. Even if LO actually see it, worst he will get is maybe 30 days ban and mute for certain amount of time.

"Harassment isn't a thing" from these other dipsh!ts, but I've had guys literally create new accounts to spam me and grief me in-game cuz I told them I wasn't interested.

Not even worth contacting support. they don't do anything. i have gotten everything in apb and FE. like being told to go commit rope neck, or what fun things they would do to my female char.

 

Like someone said just ignore them. there trying to make you mad so they can A play victim or B it's the only time they feel anything anymore in there sad little lifes.

Yeah unfortunately very common in APB and the chance of anything being done by support is very small.

Oh, I come across this a lot. My nickname is written in Cyrillic. This can be translated as I got into trouble, or I hit the target. That is, this phrase can be interpreted in different ways depending on the situation. Every game session, they write me the same type of jokes or ask me a question about where I got to, meaning something from behind.
Due to the fact that my nickname is written in Cyrillic, I often get into meaningless conflicts. The attitude within a random team of players is also not the best. 
Never answer these fools, and don't prove anything to them. They are not interested in your point of view, they just want to assert themselves or your attention. I advise you to immediately add them to the blacklist and forget about them. 
Why do you even care about the words of a person you didn't know existed 10 seconds ago? Why are you wasting your time on it by posting a post on the admin's forgotten forum?

I have had same experience as you if not even somewhat worse. I was always sweetheart towards everybody, its not flex its fact and I came to conclusion that as much as you are good towards someone they will be worse towards you eventually.

I have had strangers who became my friends in APB, I spent days, weeks, months with them, played with them, which turned into my worst nightmare after we came to the point where I had to tell them I wasn't interested.

I had 2 guys who I actually allowed to enter my irl by adding them on my snapchat, IG and Whatsapp. After I declined their offer of becoming my boyfriends they turned into cancer over night.

They creeped out each time I would come online in APB, they were following me around districts with their friends, they were griefing my missions, stalking me, they were spamming alt accounts from which they would initiate attempts to pretend they are new people reaching out. Problem for them was that they could change characters but not their dumb way of typing so took me 4-5 min to realize its them and block their alts, then they would get mad and write shiit about me in public chat, write completely utter blatant made up lies about my own life. Sharing my DM's around the game, calling me names and making up silly insults based on how i look irl. That systematic bullying and molesting went for years actually. 
Bottom line is never trust nobody in APB and you will be good, and never ever let them into your pvt life by accepting them on ur ig,fb,snap, whatsapp. Because sooner or later they will turn into a**holes.
I feel sorry for anyone who is so pathetic who cant handle rejection like a man, and I feel sorry even more for people who seek their dates in 20 years old video game. 

After long time of proving everything to LO, one of their accounts got permanently suspended and I know it only because guy reached me out on his alt, told me that himself and threatened me that he will travel to my country because of it, kidnap me and do awful things to me in revenge. Funny thing is that he was the one who was azzhole first and got punishment for it which he deserved. Feeling is very unsettling. 

Basically APB is polygon for severe harassment and world of some pretty wicked psychopaths lurking in the shadows.

The whole experience made me into type of person who is very paranoid in APB, I unfriended all people I had, I temporary block every person who asks me anything in APB until he asks me nothing no more, I never chat in public district chats anymore, I don't group with anyone, I play alone and by myself when I have free time, when I am done i alt+f4 APB and continue with my life far away from it. And I don't mind it a slightest bit. People are trash. Vast majority of them. If by blocking everybody means I eradicate some potentially good people as well, I gladly accept it. It sounds sad but it is what it is. APB taught me a lesson.

So boys and girls be very careful who you befriend here, what you share about yourself and who you choose to spend time with. 

Also as many people said already in this topic, including myself, in 99% of cases  just blocking or ignoring person solves your entire problem.

Vast majority of harassment and insulting will come to you based on weapon you use and based on you making kill on their char.

For more serious cases like mine, best you can do is collect evidence of each occurrence, record stalking, griefing missions or take screenies. Save server chat logs and send it all to support.

I swear one of the tips on the loading screen encourage players to "Trash talk" enemies via VOIP.  all the common in game trash talks is just APB banter to me. I find it very amusing. 

 

You invite sh*ty people into your lives by adding them into your social media, which you only knew for months? what do you expect? leave them in your APB friend list, steam, discord, you don't have to be friends with everyone you met on APB. there's a lot of worms out there. Be selective on who you want to group and play with not the other way around. 

 

In general a female should know in online gaming have a higher chance of experiencing harassment and received inappropriate messages, often of a sexual nature. it's sad but that's the reality when it comes to online gaming, there are ways to avoid this by remaining anonymous or lie about gender.

It's just sad that I can't also "trash talk" like the loading screen says, because a bunch of degens can't control themselves. That's all.

If the GMs were allowed to actually do something, it would have been a more enjoyable experience, but frankly the owner(s) of APB have historically never given a sh!t.

Lashing out in a 'I am butthurt' manner is quite the opposite of calm and collected professionality. Being a good person goes beyond just videogames, but if you think you can flipflopyour personality based on where you are at than your kindness is nothing but fraud.
