So this is how they treat users now?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

about two months ago a hacker broke into one of my email addresses and was able to steal an enormous amounts of personal data out of that, even going as far as being able to buy stuff with my money. I won't go over how horrendous on an experience it has been for me, it wouldn't accomplish anything.

Long story short, a few weeks after that I log into APB because I wanted to see the new features. The moment I log into my character I realize sometthing is wrong: no weapons on my hands, no legendaries in my locket, no mods, no cars, no money. Anything I had that could be traded is no longer there. It's obvious the hacker sold my account's access information to someone who used it to trade a lot of my stuff to themselves.

At that point I'm feeling more desperate than ever. I've been playing since around 2015/2016 and all the stuff I had grinded for all these years was gone. I decide to open a ticket to at least see if LO had a log of trades done on my account, and maybe it was possible in some way to at the very least get my legendaries back (and the pleasant fellow banned). I am answered with the endless routine questions (your characters' names, email adress, ...) to which I answer as accurately and exhaustingly as I can.

The answer? We're sorry but we couldn't determine that's you. I try asking what went wrong, the ticket gets closed.

Man, what a fucking pleasant fellow. After this experience I'll (obviously) not ever touch the game again and hope it takes them all under bankruptcy. I fthis is the service you provide to your users I really think you don't deserve running a gaming company lmao.

So someone committing crimes punishable by prison takes their time to see what games you play because maybe there’s something in the games he can sell for real $ and then they played APB enough to learn that there actually are things you can  sell?  Exceptionally unlucky.

By the way, what questions couldn’t you answer as far as proving account ownership?

Lol, you clearly don't know how this kinda things work. The guy whole stole my data simply put my various social media/accounts login info for sale on a black market and those who are interested (i.e. your friendly APB dumbass) can buy whichever they want. The person how got the data prolly has not idea what APB is, the person who bought my login does though. Again, your comment just shows you've never dealt with this event in your life. Good for you ig.

Also, I've answered all of their questions are accurately as possible and always mentioned when I wasn't 100% sure about my answer (and why I wasn't). Funny thing is my answers are the same (or even more accurate) as those of an earlier ticket opened like 1 year and a half ago, which was dealt with no issue at all. Funny how double standards work.

Watch out Kids, This ones a Biter.

Mr. Falcon: First let me say that none of us like support or their policies.

You snapping back at Cookie who is only trying to help you, and laying out this sob story

bashing support as the demon. When you say that you've lost or had various social media acc's

compromised. This would mean that your Emails and soc med and gaming acc's and their Account Recovery

Questions and particulars have been compromised, yet you still seem to have access to or have recovered said emails

and various game and soc med acc's all except APB, which you were able to log into but are missing weapons.

and you're laying all the blame for this clear conspiresy of wire fraud on support.

has lead me to believe that You are full of it.

Your Story doesn't add up, You could very well be the person who hacked the account for one thing.

So support is only doing its job. We know support will ask you for a valid picture identification from your

municipality or government, which can then be used as proof if brought to court, in the case You yourself

faked this act of identity theft and wire fraud, which is covered under the 'False Claims Law' a form of fraud.

We also know from many years of playing apb and time spent on this Forum, that quit a few people have gifted,

traded, sold weapons to alternate accounts, then came in here claiming they were robbed.

Trying to get support to give them ledgendary and armas items, Only to turn around n sell, trade, said items.

Your stories time line doesn't jive. So You say this all happened 2 months ago, and 'A few weeks later' you came to

apb to see the new 'features' and noticed your stuff was missing.

We've had no new features only one new item a car released bout a week ago, So how would you know there were

any new items or Features if you weren't here, and how someone would hack your account and then not change the

passwords and lock you out. Because it would take them a little time to transfer the items or moneys, and often its the

whole account that is hacked and then sold. So the proper account owner would not be able to Log in at all.

I find it hard to believe that they got all of your particulars on several accounts including emails, social media, games.

But only stole from your apb account, also you seem to have been aware that your identity was compromised yet you

wait a 'Few Weeks' to try logging into apb. And here it is a month more or less from your Few Weeks after 2 Months.

That You come in here saying this all happened.

Now I'm not calling you a Fraud, but I'll say maybe what support or staff can't say, n that's that your story doesn't add up,

it fits into a known pattern of M.O.s that many of us have seen before that looks like Fraud.

1. they didn't ask me to provide any document and/or proof of identity. Were I had been asked to do so, I would've complied with no problem.

2. they can literally check on my account's trade log to see if the "story" I'm telling is backed up by facts.

3. again, I'm literally willing to give up all my money, cars and modifications if that mean I can at least have the legendaries I've grinded for for years back. How would this "scam" be on my favour?

4. sorry but it's a bit funny at this point. If someone breaks into your social medias and starts posting shit, your friends are gonna notify you and/or you'll get weird things happening everytime you try looking at your phone. Me knowing about the new features is simply me periodically checking the "news feed" section of Discord's channel and knowing about the game's updates.

5. what you say about scammers does unfortunately make sense but it's very sad that actual issues like mine are less likely to be aknowledge as a result. At the end of the day I'm fine without APB, but both me and the game company lose from this and only 2 pieces of shit gain a benefit from the story.

Most player would care just a dearly for their cars and mods, and symbols and character creations, clothing and such.

All You want is the Legendaries.

Yet You are here in Forum 1 month or so after the fact, angry at cookie and support, but at the same time

you say you really don't care for playing apb. This I find very strange.

If it were me, I woulda checked apb and my war thunder as soon as I could. I would be making multiple tickets,

hollering here in forum, hollering in-game chat.

Its possible you're genuine and I always play the Cynic so I look for missing piece's and or piece's that shouldn't be.

They have in the past asked for picture identification. I was not aware they had a Trade Log, only an armas purchase log.

Maybe if you open another ticket offering to show your I.D. and any bank statements linked to the CC used.

Can't hurt to try once more.

I can tell you already from experience that even if you provide name email toon names IP adress and legit anything under the sun LO will go "nope your 100% trying to steal this account" and then will make threats at you such as banning your other accounts.

And pushing it?

well they just close or make more threats. i already know they can check who logs in on what ip and such and have many other ways of confirming if your lying or not. it's just a fact that LO support is a bunch of lazy kids who do not want to do there job they want a paycheck and thats it

Isn't it easily to proof by showing bank statements with G1's purchases?

You would think so, however as i have stated they do not give a shit. The support teams job is to tell you no.

Did you buy the account from the guy who hacked you?

If they can't confirm that is you, it is probably due the IP and email used for creating the account.

The other possibility is that you have been downloading cheats and got keylogger. What kind of hacker would even care about an obscure game like APB?

That's what I was thinking. There used to be a Market for the black market for apb, back when the prices were

much higher, the pop was much higher. Back when legends only came from random J-Boxes, n then they would

pass the key code around. But now legends can be bought. The hacker has much less marketing opportunity now,

than in the past. I mean look at me. Everyone hates me, i have lots of legends and a full whale boat full of stuff.

Nobody has ever hacked my apb account. I have never D.L. any hacks, because not only is it Lying to myself,

but I learned from facebook games that script writters/Hack sellers need to put a cookie on your pc for it all to work.

That means that he can worm his way into your pc, Gee I wonder if thats how the EAC By-pass works.

You would be suprised. I got hacked full time on my mail, Steam and the only real thing I could determine was that hacker tried to use Steam APB to access my account (bypassing G1 (at the time) login but running into 2FA). I found later that I got my password leaked for mail and I didn't realize it's the same one for Steam. Somebody used that fact.

Not a single thing was gone but it seems it was close call. And it wasn't long ago. 5-6 years? It was already at low pop then.

So your email got compromised...and I assume you get an alert for login from a different location...but you do nothing to prevent further damage? But say you don't, lets dive into the possibilities.

There's a data breach somewhere and Attacker gains credentials for your email. Attacker logins, finds out you play APB and decides put APB account credentials on marketplace. Are you telling me they went through every service to check the password? For hundreds or thousand of people? No...it's time consuming.

- If your email and APB re-use the same password, Attacker would either have to change the APB's email or password otherwise whoever buys the credentials for APB may get access to your email....Attacker doesn't want this.

- if your APB account credentials are different from the email, they still need to change the password so they can put it on marketplace. But here's what YOU said

So password WAS NOT CHANGED.

Huge red flags in your story. And t hat's only the story, we don't know what bogus  you have said to support

Randomly logged in to see other stuff, I'll also answer this while I'm at it. I gotta say you guys really love making up stories in which I'm a 10 year old kid looking to get free legendaries lol

The hacker broke into an old email of mine. I was not using this email at all, but it was connected to my current one and, also, another one I am no longer using, that happens to be the one tied to my APB account. As soon as they break into the account, they change my password so I no longer have access to that account. I don't notice at first, but my friend start telling me my Insta and Facebook accounts are posting crypto/porn stuff so I understand something weird is going on. My Telegram also starts joining random russian promo groups, my Reddit account comments on some random patootie ads, and so on. Something weird is defo going on. I even find payments tied to my Nintendo account (50 bucks), done with my Paypal, and I also discover my Nintendo account was also stolen (password changed).

At some point, I realize all this stuff is still happening despite me changing passwords for my current email halfway through the events, so something else has to be the cause. Eventually, I understand it's that old email, toghether with the one tied to my APB account. I send my documents and shit to the provider, they give me my account back and there I see they did all sorts of shit. They were smart enough to delete the emails, but dumb enough to leave them in the "deleted" folder. What can I say, I'm not those assholes' parent. If you doubt my story, I still have the mail logs. That being said, I decide to delete that email account altogether, to avoid further issues.

Flashback to some weeks after that entire, incredibly stressful, situation I had found myself in (while unemployed and stranded abroad, lol), one day I just randomly decide to log into APB (I forgot the reason but I think I mention it in the OP). There, I find that everything that could be traded was indeed traded to who knows who, and like 10 seconds after my initial shock I link this to this past experience. I open a ticket, explaining the situation just like I did now, and I literally asked them "can you see a log of my past trades? I am 99% sure someone broke into my account, sold all my stuff and got away with it". The answer: "yeah we suspect you might not be you so fuck off."

Like, dude? I can literally prove I'm me lmao, I can send documents, I know what's up on my fucking account since I made it almost 10 years ago, I answered all your question and all you say is "nah still not sure" and close the ticket off? Not even sending me a log of my past trades? What should I do with it? rofl.

If you still like to think I'm the bad guy here though, have a look at it yourself and then, please, tell me what I have to gain from a message like this one. Cause I really can't figure it out myself and I could use some help. And please stop bootlicking bad customer service, you can like a game and admit there's some dumb people working for it.

You're not the only one.

A clan member from back in 2012 recently tried playing. A bunch of stuff is missing from their characters. Support said they couldn't do anything.

I saw another friend playing, but it wasn't them. Whoever had the account was speaking Portuguese. Original owner spoke English, and only signed in from US locations. It took months to get their account back, and all support did was give them about 3000 G1C. Nothing was returned to their account.

I don't think Little Orbit are logging anything, or support staff don't investigate account breaches. Logs are easy to save, especially basic stuff like IP and MAC. They're probably using a 3rd party for support, who uses number of tickets closed a metric, instead of hours worked.
