Is an AMD APU GOOD for apb and what fps should i expect ?

General rule of thumb of APB performance: as much GHz as it can get, the more performance.

Agreed and Intel CPUs are better than AMD at the same speeds for APB.

You may want to check for quad-core Intel CPU+Motherboard+RAM combos on the used market, but brand new on an AMD APU budget, I'd recommend looking at either of these high speed dual core CPUs, plus an entry level video card.

Pentium G4560 @ 3.5GHz

I3-7100 @ 3.9GHz

nVidia GT1030

AMD RX550

As an APU owner, I can tell you: the Integrated gpu's are horrible

Using A8 6600k with HD 7850 (as the integrated gpu is absolutely horrible), and I can tell you the performance is good enough on my end (60 fps most of the times with drops to 45 when many cars blow up)

AMD did not improve enough the integrated gpu's, they are still slower than Radeon HD 7500+ , so your performance will be not the best (40-50 fps I believe, playable, but not optimal)

Overclocking should be doable easily from BIOS if they kept the same layout as it is on FM2 motherboards, just don't push it too hard

omg, I have the same APU as you.

You'll be fine with any AMD A6, A8, A10, or Ryzen builds.

I'm not an expert on FX series chips, but I believe most if not all will work.

I'm running the game on a GTX 650, and didn't have too many issues with the integrated graphics (albeit it's just integrated graphics)

I'll be fulling upgrading to team red at the end of the summer, with an RX 560.

bro...my i7 7700k struggles to maintain 60fps in the middle of the map - waterfront...do NOT expect anything good, till maybe if the engine upgrade actually come to life.

Stop watching all that free porn. My X5690 (i7 990X equivalent) was end of life in 2011. It still runs APB near the 121fps limit most of the time. It rarely dips below 100fps. It's overclocked, but still slower than the 7700K.

Any second gen Intel i5 or newer over 3Ghz should run this game near it's max fps limit. AMD's Ryzen line should also have no problems. I would not get an APU though. They share the CPU memory and are not powerful enough for APB's particle system. One perc and you're fps will tank.

Rofl i have an i5 6600k processor and my usual fps is above 115, it rarely dips below 110 but never under 100

Honestly, even if I was on a super tight budget I would avoid A6 and only go for A10 7850k and upwards (but FM2 platform is very old anyway, so..)

FX is just APU with extra cores, but only better than them going from 6300+

I use AMD.  I'm not a great player but I manage okay.  I built my rig mostly for video editing so AMD is the best choice for my needs and my budget.

Sorry for not stating which APU i have in mind i have the Ryzen 3 2200G in mind 100 USD and can run pubg at 40 ish FPS on low 1080p

Generally no, not for APB. The APU are a bargain but not exactly that great for gaming. My advise would be to go for a 7th Gen Intel, the prices for those dropped extremely thanks to AMD stealing half their market share. or get a Ryzen 7 CPU. Sure you pay more but the APU will show it's age really fast, even if it was released earlier this year, within a year or so they show their age. Invest more and have something fast for longer.

The way of thinking that AMD is trash is outdated . AMD has improved its CPUs lately. Starting from ZEN.

FX CPUs were pretty bad though, they had some serious overheating issues too.

RYZEN 2400G should be as good as a GT 1030.

Intel is actually worse than AMD these days. It's not very clear for some so I'll explain.

The stock fans Intel CPUs have can't keep them cool, so you need to spend additional money on a fan. Sure, a RYZEN might provide you with a weaker framerate, lets say your performance gets 10% lowered by a RYZEN and a GTX 1070 performs 35% better than a 1060.

We tried to build PCs with RYZEN and Intel CPUs with a specific budget and the results were like this

We could either build a PC with an Intel CPU and a 1060, or one with a RYZEN and a 1070 that, if we have the example I provided in mind, will give 25% more performance

Sadly, it was before the inflation of GPU prices.

AMD is better than Intel....for now....

Everything can change.....Intel might finally fix the problems its CPUs have....who knows?

Ya, all those sites you shouldn't visit probably loaded multiple coin miners on your system. 120fps is easily done on newer CPUs. You sure you don't have smooth framerate or vsync enabled accidentally? Maybe your GPU is stuck on 2D clocks.

How about a 1440p video?

I would honestly advise against it and refer you to the Intel I-7.

For the cost of just the CPU, you could get an AMD, Mobo, and RAM.

Been running APB just fine with my 6350.

Never had a heat issue with my FX6350.

But then again, I never used the stock cooler, cause I heard they run hot.

The old AMD cpu coolers were not that good, i only used my for about 2 months then i changed it. Cooler fan was loud and the cpu was hot. Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO was a great upgrade

Yes, that fixes it, but it requires more money which is inconvenient. The same goes for Intel, their CPUs require good coolers.

On the other side, RYZEN coolers keep them at an acceptable temperature, and the stronger the CPU, the better the stock cooler looks!

Dude i dont dip under 100 in an empty district either.... lmfao
You will dip under 100 in a 40/40 district, atleast in jericho.
Record in a full 40/40 district which always have things going on. Then go in the middle of waterfront and record

Dude, it shows 40/40 right there on the map. I even did a double take thinking I accidentally joined the wrong district.

didnt check that top right corner my bad

Still weird how the middle of waterfront was so empty, not even loaded cars. there are always stuffs in the middle when i'm playing and it dips to 80 followed by packetloss of 10 max .-.

I got that right off the bat. Best $30 spent.

Yeah, but $130 AMD vs $300 Intel....

I can toss $30 on a Hyper 212 cooler.

How do people keep having problems with AMD APUs overheating?

I've been using my A8 6600k since 2013 on the stock cooler, and have never had issues overheating... Albeit I've never overclocked it, but I've never needed more performance.

Then there's definitely something wrong then with your PC or network. I get some packet loss when it's on mitigation, but otherwise it's low enough that it shows 0.
