    Using grenades properly and aiming them would fix the issue without nerfing something that doesn't need nerfed. And panic button people with it can still have a few shots hit their feet before the cover fully deploys. All you'd really be doing is hurting legitimate usage of it because you don't feel like using grenades the proper way. If you want grenades to do something to it, then aim the grenade beside it instead of calling for it to be nerfed because you just want to throw a grenade at the front of the thing >.>.

     

    I've countered soooooo many mobile covers because I drop a grenade beside it rather than hitting the front of it. The fact that this basic concept evades people is nuts. The ONLY time you want to hit the front with a grenade, is to conc it, and that's "only" if you're aiming at destroying the cover, instead of killing the person.

     

    Next time you encounter them, start popping grenades beside it, and learn to throw them accurately based on distance. You'll see that mobile cover is easily negated and it's only a massive roadblock if you haven't bothered to put in marginal effort to counter it. Because it's really bloody easy.

    its a bit silly to claim mechanics you dislike are oversights, especially in this case where there seems to be a clear design pattern to prevent perfect directional cover - vehicles, props, and even environmental cover have all had steps taken to ensure that there's a downside to their benefits as cover

     

    "legitimate" usage is unaffected because "legitimate" usage isnt dependent on abusing the shield to tank grenades, explosive damage is only a risk to someone who can't move away from the shield after they panic deployed it and have nowhere else to go

     

    i dont have any issues countering mobile cover, i just wouldnt mind if most panic button users were forced to think before they use one of the laziest mechanics in apb

    mobile cover isnt broken its just poorly designed and balanced, as you've pointed out every other destructible item that blocks bullets doesn't block explosions

     

    such a change wouldn't render it useless, and shouldn't even affect the way you describe using the shield, it would only disadvantage those that use mobile cover as a panic button to cover their positioning mistakes

    the overwhelming majority of shield users use them to block bullets, so increasing the threat of explosives wouldn't really make the shield useless imo, its a decent short term balance

  5. there would still be more equipment than there are equipment slots even with all of them unlocked, dont see how it really matters

     

    equipment is kind of a junk mechanic at this point anyway, it should probably be removed or reworked away from affecting balance so that mission and objective timers can be more easily standardized across the board

Right now as it stands, pre-made golds are still stomping players ungrouped. Cheating has now gone through the roof on the European server, easily the worst i have ever seen it and its something i called when this was first implemented. New players come on and are greeted with a stomping, then a quick uninstall. Decent players are leaving as was predicted....

    I knew things were bad, but holy cow, you can ltterally see from the population drop where they removed threat segregation.

     

    This is just plain embarrassing, everything they try and do just kills the game a little more, it's like a death of a thousand cuts - or more precisely a death of a thousand blunders..

     

    At this point they may aswell try reverting every single change they've ever made to the game, it couldn't be any worse than this.

    threat seg was removed 9/1/21 (as per this announcement)

     

    its nearly impossible to single out any one factor from a pop graph like this, but it seems like desegregation gave the already boosted pop another bump up going into the halloween event, and then pop returned to normal afterwards

     

    granted "normal" for apb is a slow and steady decline, but the 6 months before deseg were hemorrhaging players much faster than the 6 months after

    weve basically already done that tbh, just the servers never went offline

    anarchy/chaos districts require some type of mission system to randomly assign objectives, otherwise players gravitate towards the center of the map and the game mode turns into a spawn killing snooze fest

     

    if orbit had spent a year of dev time making riot into a proper anarchy/chaos districts instead of a cheap br i think this game would be in a much healthier state

    a solo queue isnt going to help new players much, if at all - the same players rolling people in groups will still roll people solo, and a solo queue means new players can't group up with anyone for help

    There is another game called "The Isle" who ran into the EXACT same issue, and they learned quicker that it's MUCH easier to simply RE-MAKE the game than to try to update the old one.

    LO Simply has to realize that taking a shortcut isn't the best move here. They're better off running 1.2 or whatever version they're currently running APB on while completely remaking the game in the new engine from scratch on the side.

    YES, it's a long process. It's taken two whole years for The Isle to create EVRIMA, but the base game is done now, and official servers have been up and running for a year. If LO had simply done this, you'd already have APB 2.0 out, + a few updates, but LO made some stupid decisions and tried to save money and time with a shortcut that other companies discovered BEFORE them, wouldn't work.

    So no, unless LO decides to finally learn from their mistakes and do what needs to be done, you won't see APB 2.0.

    i don't think orbit can launch another apb game, they no longer own the ip rights
