Really hoping that the short term roadmap includes better servers.

As was mentioned on the stream today, Joker Boxes are a bit of a legal issue with upcoming loot box laws and various other problems. I have an idea on how they could be made to be both more consumer friendly while also allowing the devs to switch off legendary trading as was mentioned in the livestream today, and it involves a currency that thus far doesn't see a lot of use AFAIK: Joker Tickets. The basic idea is this: A lot of people probably don't like getting random, non permanent junk that they'll likely never use in their joker boxes. I have to spend several minutes deleting 10-12 different weapons that I got ten day rewards of, it's honestly kinda nuts. So I'd like to propose an idea: Replace it all with joker tickets. Essentially what would happen is that if you don't win a permanent weapon (Or you win a duplicate permanent weapon) the game instead gives you joker tickets. The daily objectives would also still reward joker tickets as a way to eventually "earn" those legendary weapon without paying money. So let's ballpark some math: Say I want to go and get a CAP40 to go with my colby commander: I buy JMB 10 boxes. Say I buy 10 of them. I don't get the weapon, and I don't get any permanent weapons/cars/unlocks/whatever. Oh well. But what I do get is joker tickets, for this example let's say that I get 100 tickets for every temporary weapon that I would've gotten. So I get 600-1000 joker tickets. Nice. Buying the CAP40 from the ingame joker distribution? 10,000 tickets. This would do a few things: allow free players to eventually build up and buy whatever legendary weapon they wanted though daily missions and other joker ticket rewards. Allow people who buy joker boxes to eventually build up to the legendary weapon they want. Add more value to Joker Tickets as a currency because AFAIK they're pretty underused. Still keep the "Rare chance!" of JMB's without having the issues coming up with loot boxes currently. So what happens if you get the rare drop of the legendary you want? Cool. Now you have more joker tickets to spend on whatever you want. You get enough joker tickets to buy the weapon you want and also get the legendary drop? Congrats, now you can buy another legendary weapon. To be implemented along with this would be a limited time "Legendary grinder" to remove extra weapons from your inventory in exchange for equal value in joker tickets. This would last about three weeks after the launch of the new system and then would be switched off for good. (Actually for good, not "for good") This would be done because, at this point, legendary weapons would not be able to be traded. Thus someone with 8 medusa machine guns isn't screaming about having seven useless weapons, or eight useless weapons if they don't like the medusa. To go along with this, I would also implement a one-day "Legendary Trial" system that would allow you to try the weapon before you buy it, since after the first 3 week "Legendary Grinder" was deactivated the only thing to do would be to delete the weapon, similar to what we have now for regular weapons.

I can honestly agree with this. A lot of the time when forums have upvotes/downvotes people will just downvote without leaving an opinion. This makes other people who see a downvoted thread assume the thread is automatically worth downvoting and then add another downvote mindlessly without reading the thread itself. So a thread can be downvote bombed with only a few people reading it.

[ARMAS] Suggestions to make ARMAS more consumer friendly.

Oh! The forum actually supports that. Fun times. I am incredibly used to forums not having a lot of the features this one has. My writing is horribly thrown off. Mainly from the auto double space. I'm so used to pushing enter twice every time I'm done with a paragraph. -
[ARMAS] Suggestions to make ARMAS more consumer friendly.

The bad formatting is due to copy-paste from the previous forums. I'll do some tinkering here in a second to see if I can fix it, probably involving a full rewrite. Well. That was a learning experience. Interesting stuff going on with the formatting. This will take some getting used to. Alright. That's gonna be "Best case" for now. Don't know what those grey boxes are. No indication on them anywhere else. New forum oddities yay! -
Small list of things I'd like to see to make ARMAS a little more friendly to the consumer and easier to use. 1: Any sort of indication that you've already purchased an ARMAS item in some form somewhere on the store page. There's plenty of ways to do this, be it adding a checkmark over the item icon (With various colors supporting various states of purchase) or adding a border around the item that you've already bought. I don't know for sure if the game would allow you to re-purchase already purchased items and waste G1C, but it feels like it does and this should probably be changed. 2: Central hub that tracks purchases in the store. This feels like a no-brainer and I'm honestly "shocked" that this isn't already a thing. Not only would having a central "purchase history" enable the consumer to better trace their buying habits (and avoid buying the same thing twice.) but you could also use this central list to compare what you have in your inventory. When I buy JMB's I often get a flood of temporary weapons that I simply don't use at all and just delete. To this day I'm paranoid that I might've deleted a perma weapon and not realize it. Having a central list to check would be greatly appreciated. On top of that, you could free up support tickets by tying a system into the central list that allows for retrieval of accidentally deleted weapons. This could potentially be abused in some fashion, so you'd have to completely void legendary/tradeable weapons from joker boxes, but things that aren't tradeable should be fine to hook into such a system. The retrieval system would only apply to non-temporary weapons and items and items that couldn't be traded. 3: Quick-upgrade to account bound versions. Tying into the central hub of already bought items, the ability to upgrade character-bound items to account-bound items from there would also be greatly appreciated. This would enable people to keep track of what they bought per character and enable them to upgrade items they like into account bound items to use with all of their characters. (Example: I've maxed out my criminal main and want to make an enforcer character. I can upgrade my favorite criminal items that I bought character-bound because I didn't plan on making an enforcer.) 4: Refunds and trade-ins. The ability to refund weapons and items that we don't like outside of bugging support about it would be a really handy feature. Sometimes we buy things that we regret buying, and if memory serves support only offers you *one* refund. Total. You use that up, and you're done. This is pretty anti-consumer since not every weapon on ARMAS can be trialed. On top of this, sometimes you fall out of favor with a weapon due to some balance changes or just shifting out of that playstyle. The ability to trade in various weapons to contribute towards earning a new one or coupons for something else would be nice. 5: Account bound upgrade overrides character bound purchase. I was digging through ARMAS recently and I found that if you select the option to buy a weapon character bound, even if you have the weapon bought on another character, it overrides the account bound upgrade discount and would instead allow you to buy it at full character bound price. This is naturally not okay, and I'd like the account bound upgrade price to override the character bound purchase price in this scenario. 6: Pack weapons and special cases don't always count on other characters. For example, on one character I've bought the "Forces of Nature" pack, but it's not giving me the discount on the account bound upgrade. However, on Death & Taxes pack, it does give me a -74% discount which is obviously meant to be an account bound upgrade discount. In addition to this, there are a couple of weapons that I've received through support item exchanges (My 3 slot STAR being one of them) and I don't receive an account bound upgrade for those either, though this is a bit of a unique scenario. 7: A discount on buying a fraction exclusive pack when you buy the other half of the fraction pack. Say for example I buy the Criminal Heavy Duty Bundle, why can't I get a discount similar to the account bound upgrade to the Enforcer Heavy Duty Bundle? They're virtually the same items, just on different factions. I don't see why I couldn't get a discount. 8: Account bound clothing/gear. Some clothing/gear is character bound. Even if it's cheap it's still annoying to have it be unlocked on one character and not the other. It would be really nice to not have to go and buy it twice with no discount. That's all the ideas I've got for now. Please offer any ideas that you think will help ARMAS become a friendlier experience that could encourage people to spend money and keep the game alive, and if I really like them I'll edit the OP with the idea and your name. ---------------------------------------------------- Comment suggestions:

+1 for making an 18+ game actually 18+
