Sometimes in marksman, game will pull you out of marksman with seemingly no input or decision from your end. I think they've yet to figure out why. And apparently it's happening to them while leaning also.

This is my favorite thread.

Running an HD7970 and i5-760 (Stock clock cause it's old asf and I can't maintain OC Voltage anymore feelsbadman) /w 16GB DDR3-1333 (kek) -- Over-Max settings via advanced launcher, and i'm sitting around 170fps Can't wait to build my new system and drop to sub 100.

Try this, I find it hilarious. Have a teammate get on the objective. Pull out a mobile shield. Stand between them and any threat.

addendum: [...]\APBGame\Localization\INT\LoadingMovieTips.INT LoadingMovieTips_GP_Teamwork_Message=Effective teamwork can defeat any weapon or challenging objective.

Aside from the ones I explained? Sorry, I thought those were obvious. Lets start from the top. HVR s problem is not having a direct counter to it other than another HVR. You can counter any gun with any other gun provided you have a basic understanding of the weapons in this game and how they work. Matt Scott knows this and so should you. [...] no other gun can out ttk it frontally Almost every other gun in the game has a shorter TTK. For reference, N-HVR 762 is 1.75s, or 1.63s with CJ3. flanking it is tough when paired with good team support and coordination (with you will find most of the time). You also have a team. Consider this. Your objective is the objective. Not kills. Tough, that one, I know. but quite hard to get in the correct range without wasting tons of time and effort on one guy while the others can kill you with other guns. Vehicles. Snipers are for support, not for outfront kills. Do I have to give this one a serious answer? You can use anything in this game to do anything in this game. I'm going to play snubnose pointman today, I don't give a toss, you can't stop me.

False False False True False True False Sidebar: Accuracy while jumping and moving are both horrendous. Anyone that hits you doing either of these is either extremely lucky, or inside of you. (Or cheating, but again we can't balance the game around cheaters.) No, and False. Sidebar: The difference between 1.75s and 1.63s is minuscule. CJ3 is used on the HVR because it has no downsides. On a gun with a rate of fire that slow, the fire rate increase has more effect than any other gun, and the accuracy degradation is non existent, since the reticle will always return to center before the refire time. Both of the other red mods are useless. HB is actively a nerf since it has no benefit to the accuracy regen (again, refire time.), and IR, while being a direct buff (again, accuracy regen negative here has no effect in practice) is functionally useless as it's still a 2 shot at 100m, albeit with more alpha damage with IR. Ha. False. It already can be. I mentioned this earlier, but i'll do so again I guess. Stop playing the same way and expecting different results. If you can't come up with a way for any gun to counter any other gun you need to go relearn some basics.

QFT ITT: Bad players whining about being bad HVR is fine consider improve no toxic btw (Also you can't balance the game around cheaters. Even G1 knew that @Thial)

There's an entire clan for that: [Ego Boost Gaming]

CHeating, supporting/defending the cheater.
Zoehh replied to Bva's topic in General Discussion Archive
See, that's nice and all, but also no. Once a cheater, always a cheater. Never been banned, never will be banned. I don't play with cheaters, no one I play with has been banned either. It's. So. Easy. -
I see, thank you!

Thank you for the reply, this pretty much answered my questions. I asked "why" because I can see potential abuse happening with player GMs, but this is mostly just my experience with the game and it's community speaking up, and I realize that this will most likely not be the case. That said I see absolutely no problem with it as long as they're kept on a tight leash or monitored closely, etc. It also sounds like this may just be an extension of SPCM in a manner in that "players who help out the community and who have knowledge of the game" is basically what SPCM was in the past, but may now have more power.

- NDA was always mandatory for SPCT. I've signed 2 of them for GF and RP. - Both of those people were SPCT at one point. Were they effective? Debatable. - This largely didn't happen, as also mentioned by LilyV3 (Also former SPCT), SPCT was mostly for BVT and QA. Did we have some influence on Balance? Maybe. They did ask for opinions from time to time but the decision was entirely Qwentle's always. I can only think of really one situation where the opinion of an SPCT member caused an actual change in final build. The speed of the Coywolf. One person went out of their way to constantly harass them about it, and eventually it got nerfed to what it is now instead of it's former glory. (Yes i'm still salty about it). A bigly problem with the olden SPCT ways were that a majority of the people who joined, did not join to test, and never did test. They simply joined to see the patch notes before they went live, or used it as a "personal arsenal" of sorts, since you had everything in the game unlocked to test with. Will you be continuing SPCM (San Paro City Mentors) at all? I'd like to think that while I was a part of it most of us did some form of good. The ability to ignore threat segregation to go and help/answer questions from newer or less skilled players I think helped a lot. The tag it gave showed people were knowledgeable and not trolling them or providing false information. It also, actually, helped a lot of the higher skilled players as well. District chat may have never showed it, but you would get a lot of whispers from people looking for actual help or advice. Did the program have it's bad apples? Sure. Especially when people later into it's lifespan just wore the tag and did nothing with it, or used it to grab attention/show off. I think the system itself was a good idea though. -- In what capacity are the GM's volunteer currently? Will you be adding any Player GM's? If so why and how? Can you elaborate? Same for forum mods. In the past players were allowed to volunteer to be forum mods. Will this still happen? See above questions.
-
yes, but in ALL CAPITALS
-
It also seems rather ridiculous to expect every random group to communicate at all.

Good players do well against me pls nerf them.

Actually in 2018, with the prices of GPU's and RAM, having an aggregator build it is actually pretty cost-efficient since they sell you the parts for only a little more than MSRP plus build fee. As a test I Looked at NZXT's "BLD" Service (Change 1080 to 1080ti and swap to Win10Pro here) and built the best Intel system it allowed (Can get extra stuff but test). They charge $2,680 including build fee (With actually pretty decent cable management), 2 day shipping, and 2 year warranty on all parts and components (plus manufacturer's warranty's if applicable). The same system built on PCPartPicker is $2390 (Currently). That's at base shipping cost and no tax since those laws differ per where you live. If you had everything shipped in 2 days it'd cost about the same. I do always advise building your own system and doing your own research into what parts you want/need but the point is that pre-builts in 2018 are actually worth it if you want to save some time and effort. Some Pre-builts. Never go into a BestBuy and buy the latest Alienware Dell PoS. That said, OP asked about Laptops, so the point is moot regardless.

You don't need i7 for APB, the only difference between i7 and i5 is Hyperthreading, which does nothing for APB at all. lol.
-
APB relies heavily on single threaded performance. So, get the best CPU that caters to that, that you can afford. Anything with a Powerful (Read: High-Frequency/Core) i3 or i5 CPU, preferably that you can Overclock will work best. Also an SSD will help. Also something that has a discreet GPU, because chipset graphics suck. Doesn't really matter how bad the GPU is for APB.

How to fix all gun balance issues in APB: Bring back tracers.

I have no idea how to embed mp4, but here's how you embed youtube: https://puu.sh/AviK0.mp4 Also I see nothing wrong with this? Looks balanced to me.

You both have teams. You both have access to more than one method of attack or defense. Try use brain. You're not immediately OP as soon as you equip an HVR-762. You can't 1v4 at any and every range. It has it's strengths and weaknesses just like any other gun. It's the strongest single-shot (alpha damage) gun in the game. Can you exploit that for good effect? yeah. But it's also not too hard to counter as it has a low RoF, Long reload time, low ammo supply, horrendous movement speed, Terrible accuracy while moving at all, a forced bolt-animation before you can do ANYTHING else, etc. There are many ways of countering this weapon, and there are many ways of countering other weapons. Do what you have to in the moment and try to break yourself out of the loop you've obviously fallen into. Meta is neat and all, but you can't restrict your thinking this much and expect to improve.

User-error then. Stop peeking the same corner and expecting different results.

Scout does fine, Obir/FFA is fantastic. CR762/etc is also fine, yes. if you get QS'd you probably deserve it. If it happens more than once you're bad or your team is bad.
