The DDOS attacks seem to be ping ponging between Jericho and Citadel right now, which is irritating because we are forced to leave up mitigation nearly all the time.   3. Optimizing the game has nothing to do with the servers. I think thats what you do not understand. Optimizing the game would lead to better fps and less stuttering (client side). Nothing to do with the servers.

  5. The problem of doing it now would be useless, Since then you would have to transfer/redo the code to be put into the new engine. it would be more work for no reason. And as i said the code is unreadable hogwash right now. If they were to optimize the code now.. which they cannot, because they don't know what 1+1 is in this segment of code or what it does. and if they do they might up breaking things and making the game even more unplayable than before. TL:DR they are doing it now and it's called then engine update. So just wait.
  6. Well that's the idea of the engine upgrade. To make the code readable to anyone and not friggin hieroglyphic's. Since they are also redoing alot of it it will bring optimization with it.
  7. Ehhhh Both are two separate things.... it would only make it run a bit better on our PC's. The servers are a whole other thing, The servers would run the exact same since it's another problem. Why redirect the manpower to poop lines of code that barely anyone understands and could figure out.
  8. Not wrong really, but i think currently it would just be better for them to try and push the engine as fast as they can. I mean atleast from what we have heard from Matt that it's pretty much almost done but requires ALOTTTTTTT of recoding of core systems. Also, pretty sure right now there priority is to get the servers stable and in working order now. Without it the pop would just drop like when G1 had it.
  9. it's not a problems of file sizes ect. This game just has YEARS of old broke patootie code that is unoptimized to hell that causes everything to run horridly. Sure it would lower file sizes but until we get the engine upgrade and LO pretty much recodes everything THEN we will see the game run better.
  10. Wat. That had nothing to do with the shaders. This is the actual quote " Q: Shaders and certain configs, will they be allowed back into APB? Now having said that, I do think we need to make these options available in the game, we need to put them in. We need to allow players to change the colour of the crosshair for low accessibility, and low processing reasons (Editorial: He meant low processing power.). That’s something that we should be putting in. While we appreciate the community doing the leg work, we feel it should come from our side, because it’ll not only look better, it’ll come from us, it’ll work properly and won’t be flagged by our anti-cheat. It’s a slippery slope to say “sure, you can mess with the components of the game”.

  12. On jericho Social Just crashed and made everyone disconnect. now starting to get insane packet loss. EDIT : Got DC'd a 2nd time. Seems like social keeps crashing

  14. No Matt told us already it was a DDoS attack so we were on protection. BattleEye has nothing to do with it.
  15. it's the old DDoS protection still working. They are working on another thing but we shall see if that works. No news on the new protection though.
  16. Yep and Yep... it's the DDoS mitigation that causes the lag, but it's have a annoying lag or have the servers offline.
  17. Pretty much happening 24/7 on Jericho. It's real great when you full auto someone and hit reg decides not to work.

  20. Are there talks about hitreg/Lag Ect? Better servers or mitigation? Playing when the servers are on fire is not fun
