why do i get better ping to EU than US?

Recommended Posts

i'm from australia and i'm getting the exact same if not slightly better ping to EU when it's supposed to be almost double what i'd get in US

are these servers routed through europe or something?

a bit of a joke that i'm stuck playing on US when it's a dead server when i could just play on EU and get the exact same gaming experience...

I don't know each server's IP, or else I would tell you to run a traceroute.

yes it's been happening to others from Australia as well ,

i use to get between 200 - 230ms to the U.S and 350ms to Europe

now it is 400 - 500ms to the U.S and Europe is the same 350ms ,

quite unplayable actually

doing a ping test to Dallas Texas shows the normal 220ms

but in game it's 400 - 500ms so i'd say there is some ISP routing issues going on

your ISP is routing you to UK then to the APB NA Dallas server.

average AUS PINGS:

perth = 250ms - 230ms

Melbourne bad routing = 290ms / normal routing: 200ms

Sydney = 190ms

Brisbane = 230ms

Adelaide = 190ms

either with these pings, it's still a poorly bad experience, even the population is pretty dead during 7pm +. If you want to play during peek NA time, you have to play during the mornings or maybe afternoon, which no one has time for that.  Playing on EU with 290ms is not ideally acceptable regardless of the population.

solution:

use vpn

OFFTOPIC: why do I get a better latency on FC than in action districts? It shouldn't work this way ,don't come and write "less people in FC, that's why there's better latency".

in fornite or apex legends, there isn't a better latency when there are less players remaining.

The latency display doesn't exactly work on Fightclub. It's constantly showing that my Latency is 1MS while in reality its about 10~20. This only happens on FC / Empty districts.

I have -30ms on FC than in districts, and believe me, I feel like I play a lot better in FC (less latency always makes u play better).

I don't think so. Getting out of a car or driving one, and switching shoulders/opening doors is a lot different in FC than in financial/waterfront. So pretty sure it also affects shooting gameplay..

-30ms makes a lot of difference imo..

Wait... FC has their own servers in a separate location from the other districts?

i don't know but I have 155-165ms on FC and 185-195ms on financial/waterfront, the higher latency is on social tho.

  Reveal hidden contents

use vpn

that's what it shows you when doing a ping test ,however in game it's worse than that at the moment
