having to update windows just so the anticheat works is also a first for me in 20+ years of online gaming, there has to be another way.

Well i guess the new anticheat finally caught me having -KD for years and years,being bottom fragger.  not getting missions anymore,cant join fightclub perfect shadowban. GFAC definetly working boys! No its not.... Imagine getting rid of EAC one of the most if not probably the most reputable AC available and replacing it with a ChatGPT made garbage that is doing nothing apart from shadow banning -KD Silvers :DDDD

I never used any external program i dont need the non existent APB ego and furry power sorry. neither bad mouthed or scammed. But sure its been always was easier to blame the player instead of admit it that APB in its worst state ever! Literally just came back to play which was fine for like a couple days i was even swtiching between enfo and crim having a blast "well at least some fun" and the 3rd day i noticed i cant get missions even after waiting an hour and neither fight club working so f****n GGWP! I did some research ask around friends what would be the issue and they said if no fc working and if you cant get missions thats shadowban. Cheers for that!! Much appriciated Matt Scott! Congrats for the furry devs work.

Playing this game already hurting but yea... i did contacted them of course they are so busy with the 200 player pop probably i will get a bot answer after like a couple of weeks or so! Also i dont get your questions: Macro,badmout,scamming? In what game you ever heard that an AC shadowbans you from such things? We had a good AC before EAC was doing gods work and now we this GF*CK bs shadowbanning osmaw and opgl spamming noob silvers like me! LO is a the biggest joke in APB history and from here just keep going downhill,at least back in G1 days we had FF and an actual company behind the game... yea sure they were a bit money hungry but at least the game was more playable and enjoyable. From now on the game should be called APB Refurrified....

Lets put it this way... i start up APB,disable the chat not even interested. Join a fightclub "if there is one" equip an osmaw,hide in a corner and have all the fun in the world or grab a brainless ACES rifle and spam bullets in every corner and when i am tired enough i quit the darn game and doing something actually productive! i been playing for well over 12 years in APB never used any cheat,macro etc etc... let alone scammed people or anything like that. Bad mouth? hmmmmm... yea sure had my fair share of "shit talk" and what not i think most of us have done it its just how it is really... but i dont think that badmouth has anything to do me being shadowbanned. It is also interesting that LO has implemented something that they not even talk about and the only reason i know because other players know about it. And i am confident in saying that is a shadow ban because i can play the game on another account with no problem tho i am already scared being shadowbanned on there to! And no i dont use anything! the only software that runs along with APB is Nvidia shadowplay

Interesting. If you group with other players, does it still not find missions? There was a bug where if someone, maybe just the group leader, went AFK, the rest of the group wouldn't get put in missions.

 

When they removed the unopposed missions, I had a hard time getting missions. A few times I sat in district for 30 minutes and nothing happened. I haven't played much since then, and now I can't even edit my characters because of the anticheat.

 

Also, if the person saying this game works in a virtual machine is correct, then that means this anticheat is useless. I'm not for VM restrictions, I'm just pointing out the hipocracy of restricting what OS you use, but you're allowed to run it in VM. The anticheat can't see what's running on your host, so why even have a client sided anticheat at that point, especially if they're doing behavior based shadowbans server sided.

Found a solution: Completely uninstall GFAC using uninst.exe (C/Program Files/GFAC) and then everything in the Temp folder (Appdata/Local/Temp). Then restart the computer and delete everything that didn't get removed the first time. Then disable your antivirus, including Windows Defender, and launch the game launcher. It should work.

I wonder why the anti-cheat update that causes launch problems is not commented on by the developers.

This looks to be a GFAC issue.

 

Started Launcher (launcher starts)

Click Start (launcher disappears)

.... and nothing

No errors, no APB process running via the Task Manager.

 

Checked the GFAC "updater.log"

I did try @Cheshire63 solution, unfortunately I may have a different issue.

 

Also, I have APB installed on my D drive, and GFAC has been installed on my primary C drive, 

and was working up until the new 1.0 release.

I did notice in the Windows Event Viewer, under Windows Log/System

a DistributedCOM warning that coincides with the time I tried to start APB.

I found no exception from my anti-virus, and also disabled my anti-virus,

still APB would not start,

 

This look like a Component Services permission issue which might require some changes in Regedit,

which I am reluctant to do until some feedback from LO and further investigation.

Well since my account got shadowbanned i logged into another account as i piled up like 6 different ones since 2014 out of pure boredom then only took like 3 missions "with -KD btw" to get shadowbanned on the second one so now i am already on a 3rd account feeling absolutely dead inside... Not tried to play more missions on previous accs as i never got a mission like never ever! The most annoying thing that LO and their furries praise this GFAC left right center yet cheaters still run around recklessly while silver bots like me getting shadowbanned  @MattScott You ll be better off just selling the game to an actual competent company your Kung-Fu panda publishing skills just not good enough here mate... You literally removed EAC the AC that actually worked and banned all the wrong doers,now you have your inhouse ChatGPT Ah looking AC and its just absolutely garbage....

Update:

Decided to reinstall APB as a possible fix

 

- Uninstalled APB

- Uninstalled GFAC
- Reboot

- Reinstalled APB

- Start APB (from launcher) 

- Launcher disappeared and GFAC installer for 1.0 appeared and completed install

- Pop up Window with Error

You need to paste a direct link to the image for it to automatically embed, if it doesn't contain a file type (.png, .jpeg, etc.) then its not a direct link
