Look, i'm not trying to be critical - but LO seemed like they were doing good this year until they kicked NA-East to the curb. it was an unfortunate meeting ground of NA West, BR, EU East. a great melting pot that allowed NA to have any population. Matt Scott talked about the "NA players sticking it out" and how it reached "almost 500 Population" but all that momentum seems dead

Personally - i enjoy my 20 MS connection to West Servers, But when are we getting east back??

I don't get the current server location. It's the worst location latency wise for the majority of the playerbase. It's mostly USA and Brazil, then the rest of the countries in North and South America, then the SEA area. There's also a lot of players from EU who play on NA during EU's off hours.

The best location is Florida. It's just about center between the majority of the players geologically. It should provide the lowest average player to player latency, and reduce the maximum latency a single player will most likely have. This will reduce the lag compensation issues between NA and SA players.

Money.  The one word answer to most problems.

See the west na server has always been.

It was the Bronze server thru out segregation.

Being a californian, my ms was very low 1-15ms, but if we wanted to

play the more popped district which was silver, we had to go up to 25-40 ms.

I believe what was known as the eastern server located in new york was the

old silver server.  My point being that the current west server has always been here.

So they had to pay for the east server n don't seem to pay for west.

Based on what I heard Matt saying in the pod cast.

So they have to find a server in the eastern US, but one that is budget friendly.

The west server is free to my knowledge.

Florida would be too far south. This is a NA server meant for North America. The other countries joining is us nice but this server is meant to cater to NA. The best place for it would be somewhere in the center of the US where both east and west coast have the same ping and it doesnt strain Canada too much. Other countries would have to deal with it as they arent this servers focus. Just like EU isnt a focus for those of us in the US or a focus for those is Russia.

Whatever it used to cater to, now it should cater to the current playerbase which is largely SA.

I'm trying to mitigate the lag compensation between players to reduce hitreg problems. Ideally we'd have matching phasing, migrating players to the closest server between matches, but the playerbase is too small for that to work.

The migration of SA players after Hoplon shut down is one of the two major events that killed APB's NA servers in the first place (the other being threat segregation). If LO had any sense whatsoever, they would absolutely not cater to SA.
