    Sorry Shini

    I couldn't help myself xD
  3. I think it's a little heavy to say people turned on G1. G1 turned on us... (inc Plymouth rock gif) I was always heavily voiced about some of the glaring performance issues in the past- as far as having open dialogue with Reloaded's staff in attempt to wade through code and help them make fixes/changes (Mainly pertaining to how physics were/are handled). Were people really against G1? There's a difference between protesting, and striking. It's not like we were here setting up picket lines and halting gameplay. Granted we have trolls in garbage trucks halting gameplay for some people, it was never to spite or hurt G1. I firmly believe that the majority of negativity towards G1 was simply a cry for help in regards to a game title that the people that play this game obviously love. It's not hard to see why when even after 10 years this game has unrivaled customization- and it's one of the key reasons the game has survived. People like their unique identities- that you can literally walk into social or a district and be ID'd by your outfits/cars/themes. When the company that is responsible for your Haven is messing things up- people will be quick to go negative because the ability to maintain/save the game is really not in their hands. All they have is a voice, and they will gladly use it on the forums where it's allowed.
  4. I mean, truthfully bruh all you did was bring forward some legit issues with in-game occurances...but the cascade of responses are really about Matt & Lixil's attempt @ damage control.
  5. So... Matt says it's DDOS on NA and it's being mitigated- but Shini doesn't play NA. (For the record, even in DDOS I usually don't rubberband, as someone else stated you normally warp forward because the game implements movement prediction as a lag compensator- you don't actually get warped backwards but forwards based on the direction you were going when you de-sync) Lixil says it's not a GM, but a GM has been name-shamed and is now under investigation. This does not bode well for LO. It's great you guys wanna be on top of things, but throwing out long patootie statements that obviously pertain nothing to the situation being presented just shows you are full of assumptions, guesses, and just as clueless as we are.
  6. Edgy, but I do agree with the first 2 sentences. Doesn't mean I or anyone else can't express their opinions on things that are being discussed in the meanwhile. If everyone else can, so can I, right?
  7. I'm sorry that this topic pains you so hard. What ever will you do without broken mechanics.
  8. And you talk about staying on track. Should I grow up first and then take a hike or.....? People usually "devolve" to insults when they see the error in their ways and feel there's no going back without saving face. So let's look tough and be a forum edge-lord to do just that. Mine was at least in retort.
  9. It's not a matter of the hypothetical, but the principal. Just because you do something everyone else is capable of doing does not make it okay.
  10. Map awareness & Experience hotbot already stated it- If you're comfortable shooting your guns, the biggest thing to focus on is knowing your surroundings. I would focus on one district...learn the ins & outs of that district. Alley ways, shortcuts, ledges, where doors lead. When you are facing people with 1000s of hours of playing in the 2 same maps, the alleys/streets become muscle memory no different from how you learn to aim and shoot. Know the gun selection, and what counters what. This is a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors as much as it is a shooter. Certain guns will tromp other guns, and vice versa. Skill/Experience can be an exception in this regard, but again it takes quite a bit of time to understand when you are handicapped and when you are at an advantage.
  11. Everyone could go out and be Hitler tomorrow- you don't have a problem with that? Lost a lot of respect for 2 people in this thread who chalk up unacceptable mechanics to being "Okay because everyone can do it"
  12. I agree. It creates quite the disparity when X amount of your community members are playing basically a different feeling game vs the rest of the pack. To an advantage, no less.
  13. Doesn't it seem odd that you have to go to these measures....the ini edits- the toggles, the "visual" edits? Sounds like you circumvent a lot to get the gameplay "edge" you are looking for. It also doesn't sound like something you will be able to fully accomplish post-battleye patch. In reality- what you describe is creating an artificial playing field that's tailored to you that without making the same exact "changes" people can't keep up? See what I'm getting at?
  14. The funny bit about this thread is the 2-3 ppl who are adamantly posting against and downright dismissing (to the point of insulting other players intelligence on the game when they have hundreds/thousands hours played) are in fact the people that "abuse" crouching on the daily. I think the CS:GO approach to crouch spamming would be amazing. And no, to the person who said "Exploits are only exploits if they benefit you" LOL. Just because an exploit is widely used, doesn't make it any less of an exploit or acceptable. Flaws in combat mechanics are not something you grandfather in just because you're used to something and un-accepting of change.
  15. Make the mods currently accessible only by Legendary use accessible on vendors.
  16. Agreed, which is why I started out by saying they don't always give advantage. Its not the fact they are better, but different. It's like saying MLB players should be allowed to stray from wood bats, or use 6 finger gloves just because they make 20M/yr vs the MLB minimum (450k?). It may or may not be a practical change, but it does alter how that player will play the game vs the rest. The AAEPD alone is reason enough to avoid all of this.
  17. Legendaries aren't Legendary just because they look pretty. Legendaries may not always give a direct advantage, but in a Rock-Paper-Scissor shooter, Legendaries introduce gameplay styles that can be far superior once learned. Where a "rock" type gun smashes a scissor type gun (in their intended cases, skill aside), a Legendary may be a rock that (in the right hands) can potentially tromp paper too, but still lose to another rock. It's not because the gun may be simply stat'd better, but using that certain gun unlocks methods to play the game that differs from their counterparts. Placing items behind an un-tradeable paywall that introduce additional combat mechanics/gameplay styles will immediately shine yet another bad light on a game that is struggling to supposedly make a return/180. Any game that has attempted this has sunk in shame over time. It's an alienating thing to do in an F2P game- in any game. Lure in players with the notion that the skill floor is equally competitive, but unless you pay money in an otherwise free title- you may not be as flexibly competitive or have access to the same combat mechanics as the next player. APB may never be E-Sports quality (and this would definitely put that nail in the coffin as others have stated), but you can't expect a shooter not to harbor a competitive environment. Competition needs balance- making Legendaries untradeable produces: - A fraction of the community that is now segregated and plays on a different meta based on the power of their wallets - A fraction of the community that is grandfathered in with a different meta based on their seniority, and in-game wallet. (Players are already scrambling to "collect em all" with the idea this may even be a possibility- which will drive up prices quickly) - A crash of the in-game economy (whats left of it) - An alienation of your F2P and Paid community alike - The deconstruction of any semblance of a balanced, equal playing field that is the basis of all shooters Paywall items should never alter the PvP interaction. You wanna sell exclusive clothing pieces, symbols, music, etc: PLEASE DO THIS. Obtain a license for some good music that you can resell on ARMAS for people to play out their cars. There are a lot of ways to both make money and resolve this literal nonsense of law discrepancy with the JMB items. This is not the correct way to go about the issue, in any way, shape, or form for a shooter.
