We have rebooted servers to adjust after the attack.
Thanks,
MattServers haven't gone down, and nothing has changed from an hour ago. If anything, things are even worse now.

Can confirm, it's not as bad as the other day but it's still bad enough that it's sending people off rooftops. @Lixil

What would be the feasibility of setting up the servers to automatically restart at a set time every so often (24/48/72 hours, as examples)? Since that apparently fixes this issue in the short term.

Toss up that mitigation or bring the servers down for an emergency maintenance/reboot, something.

There was one sitting at about 6m on Jericho the other day. All these people coming back from the mass unbans has thrown the market into chaos.

Just put the FFA R&D III in Joker Mystery Box 9 with the Bullshark. It'll still be rare, but it'll at least be reasonably obtainable for more people.

Once they go through with their promised ARMAS price reductions, I will inevitably start trickling purchases through. I have every loyalty reward up to and through Euryale, as well as owning just about every non-duplicate thing in the store. At this point, I'd just be picking up the couple unique things I don't have yet (the Valhalla's Chosen pack is already slated as my first purchase), and account-binding the couple things I already own that are only character-bound. Then I can consider outfits and such, although there's slim pickings for stuff that isn't garbage in that department.

1 minute ago, Keshi said:Wil the new mode be before or after UE3.5?
It's already been stated (multiple times now) that no new content will release before UE3.5 (with bigger content being held off until after UE4).
-
It's extremely obvious that this new mode is Battle Royale. It's the current mainstream fad, and this game is already setup to accommodate it with only a minimal amount of dev work.

It does not, nor should it. That's just unnecessary stress on the forum server for no real gain.

11 minutes ago, Spudinskes said:With how big the other changes are, I'm just thinking the mission balance won't come around for a very long time.
How long a time "long time" is is subjective, but if my suspicions based on the info MattScott let slip are accurate then it wouldn't be inaccurate to say that it'll be a bit before UE4 drops. The way he worded things, it sounds like the game is being rebuilt from scratch on UE4, rather than just porting it over and calling it a day.

3 minutes ago, Spherii said:Should the low-yield get nerfed to two, there's little to no point in using low yields over percussions. If you're doing it for the low explosion time, percussions, if you're doing it for the damage. Frags. The low-yield is a good mix of both the aforementioned grenades.
Low-Yields would still be used due to the mixture of shorter fuse and longer throw (with less arc) compared to Frags. They would become an alternative, rather than the default. Percussions serve an entirely different purpose, and aren't really comparable.

6 minutes ago, Spudinskes said:Hopefully they'll get around to mission balance soon but I didn't see it in the roadmap unfortunately.
The roadmap they posted seems to only be the immediate future, focused primarily on the engine upgrade timelines and other things that are going to happen alongside it. I wouldn't be surprised if mission balance is something they'll get to afterwards. There's no way they aren't aware of how broken half the game's missions are.
-
This is one of those niche edge cases, not the norm. The armored truck mission is just poorly designed in general, the addition of the new mods make it even worse. It's one of those very few missions that should just be removed, because there's not really any way to make it "good".

If you go to notifications, on the right upper corner you'll see this:
After you click on that, just scroll down, you'll see this:
Remove the e-mail option where wanted (the right cullumn) and you're good.
Oh cool, they added the options. Those weren't there before.

The only balance change needed for grenades is Low-Yield Fragmentation Grenade held count 3 -> 2. Grenades are in a perfectly balanced state beyond that.
As far as deployables/consumables go, there's a whole slew of adjustments needed across the board (especially to Remote Detonator).

2 minutes ago, Nite said:There's a good chance that "overall weapon balance pass" isn't gonna do anything more than fix some of the most garbage guns in the game atm (Misery, Harbinger for example)
Last thing we need is the few unique weapons the game has "balanced" (read: homogenized) just because the "top skill" players don't have a clue how they work and refuse to learn.
-
@MattScott @Majiik On the topic of the weapon balance pass, could you potentially look into including a quick bugfix to a couple long-standing (albeit very minor / annoyance level) bugs? Specifically, the ATAC 424 NFCP3 and Colby M-1922 Mk3 'Typewriter' weapons both using the SMG idle (one-handed, pointed toward the sky). Both of these weapons should be using the assault rifle idle variant that puts the forward hand on the foregrip. As this content already exists, it shouldn't be too hard a thing to fix.

If they could be pushed to the JT store or some other section of ARMAS, that would be cool. I still wish we had a 2 slot N-HVR 762 SD that wasn't perma gold skin.
On the note of the JT store, can that also get a serious reorganizing? Idk why Wilde sells cars when that's Ophelias area.

Currently, if you enable notifications (which appear on the globe icon in upper right corner), the forum will also send an email to your account's registered email... for every single notification. The only way to stop the emails, also disables notifications completely. Please separate these options.

Mirroring this sentiment. It's an extremely cheap marketing trick, and anti-consumer.
41 minutes ago, Nymphi--DoubleDee said:Also, as a side note, when redoing ARMAS, would it be possible to looking into breaking up the AIO packs into separate kit, clothes, gun packs?
Example: Current Rocker pack. I don't like the clothing, don't need the gun, and already have an account wide 4x4. Just want the Rhino Kit.
Also, as a side note to the side note, maybe look into a way to make the packs account wide? Or offer the super sexah Mako kit to Enforcers?
Would like to add my support for this. One of the key reasons my friend doesn't play very much (and outright refuses to play his Criminal entirely), is because there's no option to upgrade his Enforcer's character-bound customization items (vehicles, clothing, etc) to account-bound (which would allow him to access these things on his Criminal).
Understandably, these things are more complicated than just flipping a switch like with weapons. Faction restrictions, character sex, etc. However, it's something that the team should really look into implementing at some point.
-
Mirroring what many others have already stated, there is no reason whatsoever to remove items from ARMAS. That serves no purpose other than to further limit your potential profits, when you're already in a position that profit is questionable.

It's a solid start. Especially since they're moving away from the predatory design (every purchase always leaves you with a little leftover, which preys upon that innate part of the human psyche).
However, a simple increase of G1C per USD $1 isn't enough. They need to go through and normalize the price of every item across the entire store. Make everything purchasable with a division of 100 G1C, so that you never have leftover currency. They also need to bring the highest priced items down, it's absurd that the Valhalla's Chosen pack costs USD $70 when it's just a set of four variants of the same gun. Even after all that, there's still work to do to make ARMAS a consumer-friendly experience.
