15th Anniversary Launch Party
koenyboy500 replied to MageLO's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
Well that is a big improvement, I actually read all of it this time AND could see what perspective you're coming from. That said, leave the 'be a criminal/creep' part to the game and not to the forums. Thanks. -
15th Anniversary Launch Party

I wholeheartedly agree. Valzipram was one of the only viable AND RELIABLE mods that was not only in a spot (blue mods) that had very niche uses in many combat scenarios, but Valzipram was a great and solid addition to almost any mission. A mission involves travel from place to place, thus it involves cars. Being able to outplay people with this was an awesome thing to do and catch people off-guard, pretending I didn't see the car going behind me as I am fighting in a 1v1. The blue mods involving falling is something that just rarely comes up, and even then it's the choice between two poisons. Why would I want extra damage if I am running away from something but recuperate faster (though it COULD allow you to not miss an opening when ambushing) OR negate the damage from falling which while under-fire hardly makes any difference if the enemy can engage my chosen LZ. It COULD be used to trick an enemy into thinking you are damaged when using it before the engagements really start, but having to do the slow-arsed animation for jumping of small stairs is an immediate deathsentence where normally there wouldn't even have been any problem. Car surfer is the only real viable choice that has little downside because you can CHOOSE when to use it. It might not be a passive buff like Valzipram without downside, but it can be handy for some situations. Still, car surfer is often praised but I feel like people don't fully understand the risk it brings, though this can easily be avoided by just not using it when you are uncertain. While on the topic of char mods I feel like the green character mods need an overhaul as well. -

Must confess it's AGAIN a wall of text and didn't read all of it. But i am a samurai. I fight honourable, the most difficult playstyles and I absolutely DESPISE cheaters and tankplayers or other impervious bs. Do not speak to me of honour. sigh, that said. I see little point in us becoming enemies. So if you want to make a difference, try to give your comments more value. I think you're not great at that, prove me wrong. Please. -

Literally every time I see you comment I think "Oh it's this guy again just ignore him". And I'm sure I am not the only one. I understand you care for the game and often have a different opinion and are not a COMPLETE troll. Atleast I don't think you want to be. However, please just use your comment making time to think about giving arguments. Points and counterpoints. All I see so far are these comments like this that is just whining. You want to gain value, to either person and your point of view? Then bring ideas to the table and elaborate as to why something should or should not be the way you think it should. Or maybe you're already doing that, I dunno. I Rarely read what you have to say. -
I play Enforcer, but SOMETIMES I do hop onto my Crim and when I AM looting, I make sure my notoriety is low so that the VALUE of what I carry gets negative multipliers, allowing me to stay under the radar since I carry less then (I believe the amount is 5.000? stashmoney). When I've acquired enough goods I {REDACTED] so my Notoriety explodes upwards, allowing me to cash-in with 'GOOD' value whilst minimizing risk.

15th Anniversary Launch Party

Kinda sad that one of THE golden rules and staples of APB:R survival strategies I've set up out there to the public is being adjusted. I always felt like these things in particular had SO MUCH APB soul to it. But alas, I suppose that for new players this would... make sense? It will probably not help them much though. Advanced players will now try to avoid entering like this and newer players I can imagine will fall prone to it. But if the newbies get a clean kill once in a blue moon cause a veteran tried to enter their car, I'm all for it. -

Very glad to see the OCA Whisper being placed where it ACTUALLY belongs. When you announced making everything on par with the Whisper stats I really would have loved it the other way around due to the OP range but now that it is nerfed I have absolutely nothing against the change to make everything using the same statline. -
07/23 MAINTENANCE ANNOUNCEMENT
koenyboy500 replied to MageLO's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
I am sorry but I am gonna have to refuse. I know that makes it MY problem and not theirs. But I feel like splitting communicaiton on APB:R of all things is not something that should exist. Players on the forum read news becaue they love APB:R. Giving them a 'refer a friend' kind of mechanics or a 'subscribe here for more!' kind of this is in my opinion stupid. I joined the forums to chat and read and learn about APB:R. I ain't joining servers, begging for betacodes or subscribing to emailservices to do just that. Just like Netflix and their streamingthings. One is enough, I am not crazy. I will not pay up because people started 'dividing' things. -

Feels you owe us. Not much work. Quick messaging like this in specific quickmsg forum channels. Showcase work performed. Easy way trust. Small talk way of showing care. Possibly incomplete no matter. -

07/16 MAINTENANCE ANNOUNCEMENT

I feel like the post above is very important. -
I've never thought of this but this would actually be great for my F2Proad to 255 (yeah the titlte got outdated xD) series.
-
Yeah this is probably the better idea. I kinda disable chat when I'm streaming (for obvious reasons). Just be warned that if someone is able to 'grief' or 'annoy' you, they will probably take it >.> It's best to come prepared.

An update regarding the 15-Year Anniversary
koenyboy500 replied to MageLO's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
Don't think I'm with mr. PullA'Fast1Food' over here, but I am glad work is still ongoing on APB:R. This game is simply a gem I hold dear to my heart and even though I am gonna be nostalgic for some old stuff (like instant-car entering), I am willing to fight with LO on this one for 100%. Never give up on something you love. We are gamers, no? APB:R has given me some hell of a matches sometimes, but I didn't let that demoralise me (though I have 'dodged' matches for having the same certain people I just played against). Still here! -
APB Reloaded 15-Year Anniversary

I presume you take pride in stating that but for the future, you should just skip that first sentence. Psychological tells there. Just a universal tip ^,- -
15th Anniversary Patch DELAY
koenyboy500 replied to MageLO's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
Gives me a chance to stream one last time and say farewell to the mechan.... Errr, I mean bug that is the instant vehicle entering. APB's 'Golden Rules' are changing, wow. Never thought my guides would get 'outdated' at some points. (The weaponchanges were fine but one day I'll give them my full-on attention and then it is gonna get scary :P) -
APB Reloaded 15-Year Anniversary
koenyboy500 replied to MageLO's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
Huh, very curious. For the veterans who keep coming back to APB:R I would see this as a win. But the devs would probably blow up something in the spaghetticode so I'm gonna play it safe xD -
APB Reloaded 15-Year Anniversary
koenyboy500 replied to MageLO's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
The QoL change regarding the vehicle teleportation is somewhat sad to see. As I've been making some guides to get people introduced into APB:R and telling them the 'Golden Rules' I've also spoken about how this glitch/bug is actually a feature. Been hammering the idea of don't play fair in APB and this had always been a staple of it. Also please make the OCA-Whisper follow the OCA variants and not the other way around. Nobody likes engaged a Whisper at 50M and possilby losing. -
15th Anniversary AMA with Matt!
koenyboy500 replied to MageLO's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
Any chance we get to see a 'store' option to set like a 'loadout' for weapons? I've accumulated tons of duplicate mods just to (spend my cash but also) speed up the process of swapping weapons in the midst and crucial points in a mission. And I've also been wondering if LessThanLethal weaponry could get attention one and possibly an opposite thing for the criminals? (no idea what to expect from this but highly curious nontheless) EDIT: One thing that bothers me is (on a smaller scope (heh) the weakness of the Scoped N-TEC but more importantly: The added redmod that increases range made the SBSR 'IRS' completely outclassed by the SBSR "Corona", I would love to see a small change/nerf(Corona)/buff(IRS) to give an advantage for either gun in their own way. -
The Scoped NTEC-5 needs a change
koenyboy500 replied to koenyboy500's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
How about the Scoped NTEC-5 becoming a "Marksman rifle" that plays like an Obeya but is more accuracte and stable. It's firerate is horrible so it's TTK is NOT oppressive but you can land your shots effectively. Kind of like a worse STAR "LCR" as you're not allowed to move and having to stand still completely. Having a firerate slower than sped-up counting. It's similar to what we have now (or rather what it WANTS to be) but giving it 'Marksman rifle' attributes can help it set apart from the rest in the N-TEC series. Emphasizing on long range and making it bad at medium-ranges where the N-TEC can outshine the Scoped variant with ease. Guess it would be a NOT-OP bootleg N-TECc7 'New Glory'. 6 shots to kill, terrible RPM. But atleast you're allowed to hit things and at further ranges, making it 'technicly useable'. -
The Scoped NTEC-5 needs a change
koenyboy500 replied to koenyboy500's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
If you disagree on it not being underpowered and therefore completely disproving this ENTIRE topic then atleast try to explain why you would think that way so that the topic could be resolved. As for only cosmetic items, I wholeheartedly agree. Not really what this was all about but yeah, all for that. The problem however is that you are gonna get nerfed hard for using this variant when using the normal N-TEC (which you get really early in the game) is much better. There is no incentive to use it. Hec, who ever does use it? I look forward to reading your strategy as to how to make the gun work in your favor (over other weaponry). -
The Scoped NTEC-5 needs a change
koenyboy500 replied to koenyboy500's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
Funny you mention this as a joke. But the more I think about it, the more I realise that the SHAW and the playstyle of the Scoped N-TEC is kinda similar. But then the question is, why settle for a 30~ ammo magazine tapfiring when you can hold down the button and rain lead amongst an even further distance? Not much of an 'assault rifle' now is it? I bet the SHAW could lead the front better. -
The Scoped NTEC-5 needs a change
koenyboy500 replied to koenyboy500's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
Personally I think that the NTEC-7c 'New Glory' stole all the expertise of what the Scoped NTEC-5 wanted to be. Whilst it is fair that such a dramatic change would indeed make it a 'Legendary' status, along with having a much more modular model. I do think that the NTEC-7c stole the spotlight of what could have been. As for the Scoped NTEC-5, I think the zoom could be increased alongside its effective range (+- 15m), but this would have to come with a big trade-off. Standing still for this however, is unacceptable. -
The Scoped NTEC-5. Nobody ever uses it, nobody ever needs to. As someone who performs extensive experimentations on a variety, if not all, weapons, I'd say that the ARMAS Scoped NTEC-5 is incredibly underpowered. It's main gimmick is that the weapon, over it's normal NTEC-5 counterpart, gains more zoom (in terms of FOV) when you aim down sights. This is a neat something, but it has minimal impact on performance as the accuracy you gain with it is almost unnoticable. Let alone if you started firing a second bullet. What does help the weapon over its normal counterpart is that it has a SLIGHTLY less severe damage drop-off when hitting targets beyond the maximum damage range. At the very best difference at 65m it takes 8 shots to kill opposed to the non-scoped NTEC-5's 10 shots. Though as for its downside, you'll get a massive penalty to your accuracy if you are moving and aiming, which is not a problem for the normal NTEC-5. In fact, it is recommended to use Mobility Sling on the NTEC-5 so you can become more nimbler with it as you are aiming. The Scoped NTEC-5 however, gets absolutely crippled when you try to move and aim. Standing still just to get a very tiny benefit of a better zoom mid-combat is suicide. The increased zoom does not help the gun in a realistic fight at the range it's meant to be in and it makes close quarter combat slightly less effective as well (though this was already a weakpoint of the NTEC-5 series). Truth be told that if both user and enemy combatant are not in their optimal weaponrange and require more shots than usual, the smaller damage reduction beyond maximum range COULD be of help. but fighting someone outside of your comfortzone is not a smart thing to do, nor is it a good gameplan (and yes, I've tested this). Other weapons emphasize on adaptibility much much better. TL:DR, the Scoped NTEC-5 wants to be more accurate and longer ranged but fails to make an impact on both ends. The downside of crippling your gun when moving is a good way to commit suicide. Nobody uses it nor do they want to. So I would like to ask here on the forum what YOU would want to see for the weapon in terms of a balancing touch-up towards the current day of APB:R. I'm not asking for it to be overpowered nor to replace the NTEC-5, but as of now it is a downgrade in almost all circumstances. Give it some specialisation that would make a player want to use this (compared to...) (and of course the emphasis should lie on the difference of it being 'scoped' in contrast of the 'nonscoped' variants.)
