  1. If you eliminate threat and make it a "hidden" factor, and there are no longer threat colored districts... then "dethreat" is pointless. I honestly wish somewhere in a vault somewhere, were the original RTW game files... the original game, with it's threat and matchmaking system... while not perfect... was far, far more stable and fair a system then the catastrophic tinkering G1 did to those game files... and the multitudinous changes that got us where we currently are now. Merged. Back like in 2011, the entire threat scoring and matchmaking system was weighted differently, it changed a lot more slowly and so it couldn't be gamed as easily as it is now... well, ofc there was an actual population then, but... a gold of highest threat, I think was like threat 10, could get matched versus bronzes... but there would be like 10 of them... or a silver and 2 bronzes. We didn't have plentiful fake golds like there are now... the golds back then were truly skilled... and they could "handle" multiple lesser skilled op. I'm not saying we could return to that extremity... but... with some effort, something like it should be implemented. You aren't going to attract new players to what has become an inherently unfair game... with tryhard kiddos with fake gold using every exploit imaginable to stream their "performance..." well, their friends ghosting out of mission to block the other team... their premade gold team with legendaries versus a sad, bronze premade. Anyway... threat segregation destroyed this great game. Removing it is a step towards it's restoration... but to do that, at this point.. threat will have to become a hidden game calculation so districts can be open, and matchmaking... because of all the exploits... new accounts with trainee's who are actually max rank, longtime players... or cheaters... will always skew the stats.
  2. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest, since the cheaters, macroers, dethreaters have long chased away the majority of legit playerbase... hahaha They are undoubtedly all... or 1/2 of all that is left!
  3. Someone with control of the game loves them obviously and has given them a place to play over us... come on... not an accident when your game looks like APB full of toxic, abusive, game-breaking rage-kiddies... all day, everyday... and normal players flee in droves.
  4. Or you could just have a couple of qualified GMs log into the game stealth, join a few missions, or target multiply reported "suspects" and spectate them. A GM has all the tools a hacker has, so he can tell, if, through the walls... a player he see's.. can... outside of certain game dynamics where every player is visible on the map... tell if the player has a "cheat" enabling him to react to the spectating GM... such as... through the walls detect and move when an aimed crosshair is on him... by the GM with the ability to do so. Seriously, removing, or just temp kicking highly suspicious players has a wonderful effect of making them "tone down" their cheats... but doing nothing at all is the guarantee of ruin and a lost playerbase. In-game GM spectators (who KNOW what they are doing) is faster and more effective then the best anticheats... a major reason why Innova was so successful... they used propriety Frost anticheat, but they also had the manpower to have in-game GM's spectating the gameplay... and rapid banning griefers, cheaters, exploiters and temp kicking suspects. This is why I made a post about temp kicking players... which the forum GM stashed away in some never visited section. It's kinda obvious Little Orbit has no interest in preserving this game, listening or responding to the playerbase or acting on criticisms, suggestions... and the endgame is already a foregone conclusion.
  5. This is a really fun and unique game... when it's working as intended. But I must say, the company who isn't running it... has let it circle the toilet of abusiveness. Why don't they sell it to someone who gives a damn about it?
  6. It's not "annoying" son... it's griefing to make the game impossible to play. These guys do it all the time. They've done it to me. First thing they do is ask for team lead. Once they have it, they pick on someone, usually a bronze (hi that's me) or a foreigner, and then mission block him repeatedly with their premade "friends." Whenever you get in mission with them... as soon as you have a shoot... they run you over or osmaw you or straight up pull out nano and make sure you can't ever get a single kill or play. It's harassment and griefing which wouldn't be tolerated in any game... but this game seems like abandonware... so the worst cheating and the worst harassment is going on daily... then we have people like you who try to explain some hokey way to "game the system" to prevent it... only it's these GRIEFERS gaming the system and most of your casual or lower rank population is not logging in anymore. Do you give a damn? The other thing they do, when a couple poor bronzes are matched against high rank golds... the lone gold on their team who should be saving the day... suicides 14x.
  7. This game is completely unplayable on bronze district. There "seems" to be full hackers every single mission... and when there aren't perfect aim, ragebotters with 30+ kills per mission pretending it's fight club... it's max dethreated golds with volcanos, ursus, and premades that just make it impossible for most low rank premades to even get the 1st objective. Maybe that makes a "cool" stream.. to WTFPAN and patootie-screw the weaker teams repeatedly, all day but... honestly it's killing your game population.
  8. I swear guise... there is NO WORKING ANTICHEAT at this time... it's just old files that look like BattlEye, kinda like when G1 stopped paying for updates on Fairfight... only no one is even bothering to do biased manual bans.... APB has become HackCity... like, every single mission. I propose Matt Scott personally, log in and disguised, play a few missions to get a freakin' clue stick! Either that or bring back Tiggs... at least she was TRYING to control this game-breaking bs.
  9. Uh, your game is pretty hacktastic... like every mission, and Im playing on bronze... but you have so many golds, even like lvl 18s that do not ever miss... like 20-30 kills per mission crazy. Are you even paying for an anticheat anymore? It's so wild, new guy can't even lift a gun to aim before 3 different snapbots insta kill me from 3 different directions. I had a rental gun and for the life of me after hours, couldn't aim it before dying so many times i just quit. If you want this game to survive, you really need to moderate it better. It's worse than Steam shooters by a mile.
  10. You are suggesting a mass banwave... to a game population that can barely hold the game together. And what? They just recycle and make new toon in 5 min. HOWEVER... if their investment, their legendaries, are only TEMPORARY banned... the immediate rage-hacking will decline... the population exodus will decline... and instead of people having to wait for a month for someone to get banned... or who never gets banned as game circles toilet bowl.... INSTA-KICKS mid-mission.... would boost morale tremendously... and those kicked... may not even be cheating... but they will learn they have to tone down their WTFPWN ALL playstyle to stay in-game.
  11. When LO took over, they gave a general amnesty to accounts banned because it couldn't be fairly ascertained if they had been fairly banned or not. I propose the condition of the game has so deteriorated population-wise that a radical new approach to cheats/bad behavior need to be considered: 1. General unban 2. For all suspicious activity, flagged activity or EULA violations a swift, but temporary ban with escalating time. Example, a guy might be playing too well and legit pro... but obviously not suited to be playing in bronze district... if he gets flagged as suspicious, temp kick for 15 min, then 30 min, then 1 hour. If he finds he is repeatedly kicked, he should consider playing on the silver district instead of face-wrecking casuals and noobs on the bronze district... but he still gets to keep his account. 2. Escalating Chat-bans: If someone is repeat spamming derogatory comments, temp kicks, but add in chat bans... 15 min, 30 min, 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, perma. Everyone has the ability to ignore so this really shouldn't be pushed as a cause to ban a player when mute is an effective option. Another in-game option for players who know they have bad tempers should be a self-mute option. Yes it impedes effective game-play but it's better than getting insta-kicked from game... and honestly, temporary insta-kicks would be more of a hard slap warning and stop to the behavior than a month long investigation that ends in a permaban. It would also save the player when the game literally can't afford to lose anymore. 3. Escalating temp-kicks: Unfortunately, the change to quitting missions was changed and sometimes players start tking to get kicked... tking happens, people lose, they rage, it's APB... but if someone is only going around repeat TKing mission after mission, say by the 3rd mission of tking, he should be temp kicked for 3 hours. If he comes back and starts tking again, 1 day ban. 24 hour reset. If someone is repeat griefing, a GM visibly, but invisibly spectates someone... repeat ramming the same car and following him around to block his missions... insta temp-kick, 30 minutes. If his name comes up repeatedly and GM can spectate the reality of griefing, escalate temp-bans to 1 day, 3 day, 1 week, 1 month. If someone is using bad words to insult someone, or inflaming speech, or attacks on ethnicity, race, sexuality, etc, politics... a little more serious... but maybe the account can be saved by insta chat ban and GM letter of warning and temp ban for 15 days. Maybe chat ban for 1 month. If it is repeated, perma chat ban and kick the account for 1 month... at discretion of Matt Scott... some insults are simply childish and raging stupidity, but rarely there is a truly abusive person who deserves a perma ban. 4. Suspected Cheaters, Macroers, Exploiters: Simple temp-kicks from mission should be enough discouragement... again, if they're playingh so well as to be repeatedly getting 40 kills per mission on Bronze district, maybe they should move to silver. If they are getting 100 kills every fight club... maybe they should tone down their "skills." Just some thoughts.
