The lag issue has been around for awhile. I thought it may have been the server at the time. But since they are on a different server with the same issue, its the code. It feels like a memory leak, the garbage builds up in memory and never gets dumped. a reboot of the server clears the memory, and the build up begins again.
I haven't coded in a long time, so I have no idea how difficult that would be to track down.

This game is a hidden gem. It is definitely unique in its design. The early days F2P model was crap. I want to thank the people who are providing this game free of charge to us.

It would only delay the lag. And no telling how much of a delay. It could be additional hours, or just additional minutes. Eventually, the RAM will fill up again.
I'm just guessing based on the behavior. It could be a different issue, I just don't see something else that explains the slow buildup of lag over a day.

if u loot nodes while not taking items u can watch them disappear at the exact same time when it updates, they will respawn at the same time too
if u loot just before that tick it happens instantly

 

since if u time it right u can loot without delay that prolly indicate that there is no delay in the loot processing itself

hard to stay logged in tends to kick back to character menu, anything but walking/combat pretty much down. also lost item i found from veteran hope it will be in lost and found later on.

any eta on restart?

logged in again just to look and what a surprise you can even move or jump or even buy anything because the lags so bad. 

this game is for the players what have been playiong years any new person will run a mile from it..  its finished unlike crimson and his second life lol

its far beyond broke its finished its dead i hope matt shuts it down for good.

At times - it runs well for a few hours and then rapidly goes to crap.

Other times theres minimal, but noticeable, lag right after a restart - this isnt normal.

Some are thinking that the last restarts are done improperly (e.g. not all processes actually get restarted), also Emily has been very quiet lately, so its a real posibility that someone else took over doing them for a while, and things arent working out the way they should.

 

Current status - the server gave up and went for a nap xD LO is notified again.

To all of the people whining about the game...

 

If you hate it so much then why do you keep coming back ? Why do you care about it at all ? Why do you want it shut down ? Stop whining about a game that you aren't paying for. I've been here since Beta and FE was my favorite game. I've been checking back every few months hoping for an update that says they have people working on it again or they're going to put it on a new server or they're going to do a total reboot with UE5. Just forget about it, check back every few months and hope for the best.

i came back to just check if anything changed with a inkling bit of hope it might be just a touch better,  the game went down for how long 6 months ?.. for what nothing changed infact the game now is at its worst its ever been dupe items are still going on and no new players come in years just rerolls making new toons pretending they are new.  even the devs/matt doesn't even keep the community upto date with anything and on a good day ive seen level max 100 players 55 to level 1 play,  people that means its dead its finished this game will never see unity its too far gone. even apb is finished its max players has dropped massively its the worse development by far ive seen in years.

 

you know its dead when they cant even get 6 pvpers to pop ctf and they beg on global

FE went down for maintenance about 4 hours ago, and currently is still down.

According to Emily, LO is also attempting some changes to make it run smoother for us.

At least some players are finding char select screen completely empty after todays maintenance. LO is pinged, waiting for a response.

 

Edit: some ran into this after crashing / relogging. If anyone is still ingame - LA and Embry regions might be dead, avoid going there.

 

Edit2: Emily is here, server is being restarted again.

 

Edit3: issue should be resolved.
