01/08 PATCH ANNOUNCEMENT
VanilleKeks replied to MageLO's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
It's a little comical to attempt balance for car gameplay with just car and weapon stats. The core issues is that you can teleport into your car and avoid dying through high burn fuel. No matter what values you put, this combo will always result in "high tier" APB being about cars. -

12/18 Version 1.32 'Mobilize'
VanilleKeks replied to MageLO's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
Ah yes, because I am talking about someone triple bursting me in CQC with an OBIR. Not the fact that it has insane QS burst and more hip fire / jump accuracy than necessary. Feel free to further out yourself as clueless with another reply though. -
12/18 Version 1.32 'Mobilize'
VanilleKeks replied to MageLO's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
Not sure about those OBIR changes, but it's something. You're now only 87% dead after two bursts instead of 99%. Maybe this makes the gun less obnoxious at longer ranges with fall off, but the real pain in the butt is that you can CQC it so well compared to other guns in that category. I appreciate any nerfs to that abomination though. -
I recall wasting my time in a twitch chat recently arguing that CDMM wouldn't work properly without phasing technology of newer engines. And here we are with this crappy experience. The only bandaid to this would be that you can queue from social district and play a different game or something. Also the fact that the UI vanishing bug on district swapping wasn't fix ahead of this is funny.

Preview from Matt: Christmas Sale 2024
VanilleKeks replied to MageLO's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
Who is the scrub that keeps adding more jump shotting weapons? It has no place in this game when you can third person aim from behind cover and setup the jumpshot. There is no movement that lets you avoid such a 0 reaction time peak on the receiving end. It's absolutely broken and was removed for good reason. -

It makes no sense to shadow ban people in a game with such low population. If you prevent access to districts, when sometimes only ONE instance is available, cheaters will easily be able to finetune their settings to avoid this threshold because you have a very easy way of verifying when you are shadowbanned. I don't know if you are confident in some secret strategy that will make APBs population blow up, but these recent changes are very clearly intended for that scenario. Which means that you are either extremely confident or extremely tone-deaf. As an initial implementation, SARD should just slam detected cheaters. Assuming the system is somewhat competent you will be able to count the false positive cases using 10 fingers with the current pop. -
11/20 PATCH ANNOUNCEMENT
VanilleKeks replied to MageLO's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
I find the notion of "Assault Rifles that were designed to excel at close range" to be very off putting. This game allows you to hold angles while hidden behind cover (due to third person camera). Meaning these CQC rifles can beam you down at close and mid/early long range fights. SMGs will be made obsolete sooner or later if you keep doing this. -
SARD Anti-Cheat Update
VanilleKeks replied to MageLO's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
This post is pretty tone-deaf. The consequences of SARD implementation has been rampant cheating for months, and now you come with the "never ban anyone outright"? I can get behind your approach if this was a largely populated game, with a respectable ranked and e-sports scene, but I wouldn't say this is what the people wanna hear. With the size of the game you should have just slam-dunked these bozos with aggressive SARD settings. Even if 25% of the player base gets banned that's not even 200 cases which you could manually review over some weeks. As a step two I support this entire blogpost, but there is a missing step one which should be immediate and harsh action with a dash of cleanup afterwards. -

The "Check Back"
VanilleKeks replied to JustinCarter's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
Ah yes, some people are suspected of cheating but for others you "know" they are cheating. You made this distinction based on what? Their horoscope? Unless you have actual evidence of what's running on their PC or we're talking speedhacking spinbotters, you don't know and you're more than likely griefing random missions for no reason. The difference between too good and just good enough is incredibly hard to spot. Even more so once you reach a high level. There is a reason high level cheaters in anything really can fly under the radar for years. By all means, if there's 30 seconds left on last stage go afk and get some water, but to sit there and grief for 15 minutes makes you a dingus. Just restart the game and go next. -
Mind turning on SARD?
VanilleKeks replied to VanilleKeks's topic in Social District (General Discussion)
Lily can't think that far most of the time, so it's not use explaining. I was fine with this for a while, but a month with no anti-cheat is pushing it. -
Word in the community and (unconfirmed) information from known cheat providers is that client-side is either turned off or not working. EAC detected cheats can be used and server auto bans are off. There are actual r270s snapping in fightclub farming the entire lobby for hours. Not sure what genius idea it is to "test" your AC on the biggest patch in half a decade, but if you wanna get rid of the returners asap it's a good strat. High mmr missions are unplayable more often than normal, with people straight up running down spawn points. How much more data do you need before you start banning people?
