It's not though, with the mod configuration and playstyle described you would see that there are no negative changes to the Colby M-1922 "Typewriter" because it's the complete opposite of what you described. The only configuration on this weapon I've ever had the troubles you've described here is when I first tried the subjectively "speshul" way most people think it should be modded (Hunting Sight 3- Improved Rifling 3- Tagger). The fact is in any game (apb is no exception) you do not modify your weapons to cover their weak points. A sub-machine gun is not and will never be an assault rifle, so don't add mods that accentuate an assault rifle's strengths, and don't use a sub-machine gun in a way that accentuates an assault rifle's strengths. Your original post makes zero sense to someone who does use the weapon you've detailed in the best possible way, therefore you obviously need to be told how to use it, rather than be told "yes let's adhere to the ramblings of someone who has no idea what they are talking about, and move a weapon back to a role it wasn't supposed to fill to begin with." The Colby M-1922 is currently workable and where it should be, to the current meta of the game. It's not a rifle, and should never even be considered in a position where you would "have to burst fire". Therefore my post is completely on topic.

a Headshot function would damage the entire game, especially if it's a ONE shot headshot, imagine using any existing weapon, the N-TEC, OBIR, ALIG, SHAW, OCA... dude they ALL have faster TTK than the CS-GO AK-47, the ONLY reason CSGO is what it is is because it's been meticulously tweeked and developed over 3 decades almost. CSGO works because the guns, maps, and even player models are built AROUND the slow gameplay with headshots and First Person View APB is not a headshot game, it just isn't. I've played 6000+ hours in APB, and I've played 3000+ in CSGO, there are absolutely no CSGO mechanics the community wants in APB, so take the hint. Go play CSGO.

If you have an orange mod on it, you're doing it wrong. Play it like an auto shotgun, put Mobility Sling, Cooling Jacket 3, and any blue mod based on what you prefer. ALWAYS have a longer range secondary, any of the following work; Joker RFP-9, ACT-44, Colby RSA, Harbinger, and my personal choice, the Colby Commander. Use strong grenades, concs are good, and make sure you know your enemy's arsenal, use your corners, and suppress people while you're on the move, the gun works a LOT like an NFAS and at certain ranges it's better to hipfire. If you know there's an enemy with Kevlar, ALWAYS prenade them, if there is an enemy using marksman/sniper role weapons, use anything at your employ to get close, and make sure you're tagging them with your secondary. It's a hard playstyle to master, but ultimately it's fun, and rewarding.

It is not called an "N-TECH" the letters actually stand for something, so I already dislike you for calling it that. The "Nekrova Tactically Evolved Carbine (N-TEC)" <NO H, is a very easy weapon to subdue, and a very interesting one to master, it is very adaptive, and that's why you see it a lot. It's not as situational as any other weapon, and any other weapon can still defeat it if used properly in the desirable situation. There are many other weapons on-par or superior to the N-TEC, however, they are all slightly harder to use, thus seeing them in bronze districts. It's a low cost, early unlocked, must-try weapon, with good stopping power, and a big amount of situational range at which it's applicable (5-60m). The solution to the N-TEC conundrum you are describing is as easy as the following instructions; 1. Rank Up and Unlock pretty guns 2. Buy them and learn how they work 3. (this is the most important) git gud.

This would destroy a part of the game that makes it so enticing to begin with. purchasable in-game currency means obtaining in-game currency is like obtaining real life money, it doesn't matter in GTAV because there were never paid weapons, just shark cards. This game has mechanics that allow players to generate in-game currency FAST, meaning a permanent armas weapon would have to cost not millions, or even billions, but trillions or even quadrillions of in-game currency, JUST to justify the change from the previous real world prices, not only that but it also opens up the game to possible structuring and even money laundry as in-game currency would convert to real life money. Ram-Raiding would have to be removed, destroying a huge asset to the open world theme, and the theme of building your character up from a nobody. If they were to decide to take an approach to the game that allows free players to obtain every paid product in the game, they would have to look at something more along the lines of Warframe, but that doesn't necessarily work either, because in warframe all the products are obtainable on an RNG basis, and you only pay to speed up the process, whether it's outright from their market, or from other players. In APB guns don't have any value of time=money like that, you buy it, that's it. I don't see how this would ever work.

I went 16-6 with an n-tec with HS3, CJ3, and MS and won last night, then got rekt the next three missions with barely pulling even in KD and losing. You should probably make a post asking how people use it, because you're probably one of the people I would destroy with it, not one I would lose to with it.
-
read the poll, we've already decided not to implement it to regular gameplay
-
Well if we're going for the realist view here, this entire post is pointless because what I'm proposing is a coding nightmare and it'll never happen. I try to stay away from those dark revelations in the depressing depths of my brain.
-
I don't know, I think given the views of most of the community here, I've come up with an interesting implementation that would have good team tactical uses, as well as not destroy the game or be too over powered, especially considering that this only works on one shot per player, and it has reverse scaling based on whether or not they were already tagged by your secondary or someone else, it would give people a reason to carry around low TTK weapons, and diversify gameplay quite a bit.

it would fit far better on a new unique legendary gun but it’s something that’s either going to be overpowered or useless tbh, anything that slows movement in apb is pretty much a death sentence The thing is, I feel like that's something the game needs right now. I'm tired of playing this dull meta where it's just meh.... like Matt said in the Q&A.... wouldn't it be better to explore ways different weapons could be MORE overpowered in certain situations? The reason I would say this idea fits an Oblivion is because it fits the concept in it's description. "Fast-firing and pinpoint-accurate, the S-247 ensures that no matter how far you run, the steady hand of oblivion will be coming for you." Hell I was up for that crazy idea back in like 2012 where they were talking about making the HVR only firable in a stationary crouched position after .4 seconds, but it would be 1000 DMG per shot.
-
What if it was a specific mod for the S-247 "Oblivion"? Like a legendary version or something, 5 shots to kill instead of 4, with staggering damage
-
but this would be based on player health, not weapon shots or damage done by the weapon.
-
I second this motion. Geez, you guys are toxic.

Do you have anything to add to the table? because at this point we're repetitively stating obvious facts. A simple "I don't like this idea" or adding something constructive to the post would be much more worth yours and everyone else's time. I'll just add you to the pile of "no thank you"s (we're at 6) Also on the handicapping of a losing player, something like this would solve the issue of peek shooting and make the game more well rounded when it comes to compromising your own position, this is one of the only pros to this idea, and this isn't advantageous to any party, so I don't understand that statement.
-
I really wish ya'll would quit calling this a suggestion, it's an idea to debate about, it's a post for the community to add to, I'm managing it, and taking into account all the good and bad, it won't be a suggestion unless we all figure out what it should be, if anything. I liked the idea of it possibly becoming a modification (heck maybe a legendary weapon mod tbh) but people need to lighten up and just say things they don't like or like about it, I'll add a poll if it even gets to the point of being a suggestion, but untill then read the disclaimer, and understand I'm not out to ruin the game, just to make the community toss around an idea. It's therapeutic and helps us all get to know eachother. I'm Kat BTW, nice to meet you.
-
I love this. Now we're getting somewhere, turning the idea into a suggestion possibly
-
this made me laugh soda out of my nose. BUT I have to ask, wouldn't it be great if the HVR that hobbled you with one shot, had trouble running to cover while you're steadily shooting it with an N-Tec or CR762? ;)
-
This isn't a suggestion yet, I'm not crazy enough to post a suggestion I myself am not sure of, nor something that the community would not want, in the suggestion box. That's what caused Threat Segregation.
-
One of many reasons this idea sucks, except it would actually compliment the upcoming HVR change anyways... Maybe I should add the list of reasons this idea sucks (that I've thought of) to the OP Edit: I added the list.

Disclaimer: This is not a suggestion, this is a poorly entertained idea that the community can/should toy with and debate in my opinion. I would not suggest this idea ever be implemented into the game, I just find an interest in the hypotheticals. So, this is a serious post, not joking at all, and I do understand that this would ruin certain mods that are already in the game. This idea of mine would change the entire game as we know it, and even myself I'm unsure about it, but would be interesting to test in our heads and see. So here goes this idea. Damage staggering/slow downs. If you've ever played Counter Strike you know what I'm talking about. In a different post I saw some stuff where people were talking about how our hitboxes and registry were a big problem. But if weapon damage slowed people down just like LTL damage, wouldn't that be less load on the server to calculate your scan hits, and at least eliminate some of the ghost shots? Also it makes sense, people can't sprint with bullets in their chest, gut, legs, etc. Tell me what your thoughts are, why this idea sucks (though I've already thought of quite a few reasons), if you like the idea, or at least have an interest in the thought. Lemme know! Edit: Reasons I've thought of that make this a bad idea (still have an interest in it though) -Would make the game slower paced, and would make CQC over-powered -Would require a rework to reticule systems to negate most (but not all) of the negative points here -Would destroy mods like Epinephrine Injector, Kevlar, and Fragile -Would make getting out of a vehicle near any enemies a suicide mission -Would give Aimbotters MORE power -Current hitboxes (Cylinder around your character) would make this feature extremely over-powered -The values of damage that cause slowdowns would be a huge headache debate. -Would make the game even LESS new user friendly. |AxeTurboAgresor said: "At the begining I was very pesimistic about this idea, cuz of imagining how much it would actualy break some weapon. In second thought, this would fix some weapons if it was a weapon modification. I think this would be a nice Red modification for the weapons. Even if the hit stopped a player from sprinting even for a split of second, or if it instantly slowed the player down to 300cm/s for 0s, in cost of increased recoil. Mod called "Manstopper". For real. Manstopper is term used in real life. Now players would think if they use IR, CJ or Manstopper for their N-Tec or OCA."| ^ I like the Manstopper addition to the idea. I do see the flaws in how "fair" a mod like that could be though, considering, but I'm not sure if that wouldn't be negated by the suggestion that it just stop sprinting for lower than a second, as you already can't sprint while shooting anyways. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you hate me, and this entire post, and want to make me vanish from existence right now, see this:

StreetFighter 12: APB Reloaded. Will they add knives to the game? or is blowtorch the closest we'll get.
-
well then can we at least have working street lights again? :C (probably for a diff topic)

I'm getting 30ms strong, no DDoS here in jericho, WYA?

The servers realized after my forum post that they weren't simulating the effects of heavy explosive polutions, and tried to make snow paro.
