  1. So after messing around on OTW earlier, I noticed that because of the nature of Battleye some Temperature monitoring programs such as CAM or Corsair Link will have a fairly high CPU usage as they're constantly trying read out your Temperatures while Battleye doesn't allow them to. The best way to check if you're affected by this is simply opening your Task Manager and checking for programs using an unnecessary amount of CPU (Mine were usually sitting at roughly 12-15%) and simply closing them while you're playing APB.

Edit: Turns out you can fix this by updating these programs to the newest version. My point still stands tho, if you happen to have fewer frames after the update, check these programs to see if they're causing unnecessary CPU load.

Interesting, wonder how it appears to other players.

It doesn't because it is client side. It's a bug that's been in the game for ages. He's all over the place on his screen but on everyone else's screen he's still under the bridge.

    1) The first video looks like lag to me.

It's hard for me to see when Shini was streaming exactly, but I know 4 hours ago we got hammered fairly significantly. NA servers have been on mitigation ever since. We do know that lag and teleporting happens during these cases. Teleporting occurs when a player's movement updates are sent out of order or lost by the server. For the player they move on their client, but the server eventually tells the client to reset in an attempt to sync and get packets flowing properly between the client and server again. A reset teleports the player back to wherever the server's last valid location was. If Shini's last valid location on the server was a spawn point that happened to be far away from the objective, then that is unfortunately, and we apologize for his bad experience in-game. I have already posted the steps we are taking to reduce the lag, and we are following those steps.

    2) The second video is definitely speed hacking, but why is it assumed this is a GM?

We've gone frame by frame in that video, and that's a newb shirt with no identifiable marks. Is everyone on this thread assuming that the first and second videos are tied together? That for some reason a GM would cause Shini to rubberband intentionally to interfere with their mission, and then that same GM became visible and speedhacked past Shini to troll him? I just don't follow the logic being presented here.

I'm sorry Matt, Shini is not on NA so it being on Mitigation doesn't affect him whatsoever. Not to mention that no one else seemed to be lagging and pedestrians and cars who are also SERVER SIDED weren't affected by the supposed DDoS / Mitigation.

Additionally, people KNOW this was a GM because Speed hacks make the player warp all over the place while the GM command to set your running speed does NOT do that.

Also, another massive factor is that Shini spawned a thousand meters away twice, this DOES NOT happen unless teamkilled and unluckily spawning in a car spawner across the map which wasn't the case.

I have no reason to lie. If I need to pull up IT guys to confirm it with you guys we can do that. I literally checked ALL GM commands that were happening none of them had anything to do with Shini's problem.

I'm not gonna argue with you guys. My GMs had nothing do with this. Shini had massive lag from what both IT and devs are telling me.

All I'm saying is that evidence in the past of players being teleported on stream point towards this being a GM. I don't believe that it was DDoS until proven otherwise there are just too many things pointing towards it being a GM.

  5. So DDoS is basically being blamed here but Spawns are not affected by it whatsoever. It's too much of a coincidence that Shini gets spawned 1000 Meters away from the objectives twice, then rubber bands to the same spot 3 or so times (while DDoS would make him warp all over the place) and as soon as he gets into a Car everything is alright. Not to mention that no one else was having Network issues, warping or was being spawned 1000 Meters away.

The fact that an actual GM was speeding past him makes it even more obvious. I am not trying to start a witch hunt here but I hope that Lixil doesn't go out of her way to lie about the fuckups of their new GM's that are messing around with players.

Here are two Screenshots of Lixil blaming Lag/DDoS and saying that it wasn't a GM messing with Shini.

Don't lie and pull of the same stuff that G1 did in the past, be honest with us.

  6. Both systems have their flaws.

The old Spawn system was very predictable and often spawned you extremely far from the objective, really making you feel like you're getting handicapped by the random nature of the system. While the new Spawn system gives you multiple spawns to chose from, many areas have very one-sided spawns which means that one team spawns west and the other on the east side of the objective. (Same with North and south side, duh) While the new spawning system made spawns much less predictable it also introduced Car Spawners which in my opinion are just something you can't balance properly while keeping it viable. Car spawners along with a few other things have also changed the Car Meta as there are very few Vehicles who can actively cause the enemy team to 'waste' resources to take out said Car spawn. Not to mention that the whole Grid-based system behind Car spawners is fundamentally flawed.

I personally don't mind the current Spawn system as it was a step up from what we had many years ago, it fixed issues but brought its own. I think that working on the current spawning system and making improvements to it can have a huge impact on how the game flows and overall player enjoyment. The main points to look at are shifting spawns, when spawns should be pushed out and therefore further away from the objective, some areas that have very few viable spawns to take and therefore leave you with very predictable ones, spawns after being teamkilled and then Car spawners itself.

    Hi all,

Just a note to say that we are working with the author of the Advanced Launcher. He has kindly made the code available, and we'll make sure there are no conflicts with BE.

It isn't our intention to take away the tool. We just wanted to make sure it didn't interact negatively with the anti-cheat.

    Thanks,
    Matt

You should honestly consider making Shaders free to use until the engine upgrade is there. Right now simply removing the fog can give you 10-20 extra frames which is just ridiculous and aids as a band-aid for the games pretty bad performance until the engine upgrade is out. I can see why it is a risky thing to permit but it would make sense as it makes the game more enjoyable to play and gives you guys the opportunity for a completely fresh start when it comes to modifying game files after the 3.5 update. (Could also simply encrypt the files)
