    excess bloom

Well it's hard to say really. Depending on monitor setup and os/GPU settings. Also with out being Infront of the game I couldn't tell you how many units. Me personally. If I use bloom my brightness bar is set to low 1/3rd 1/4 . But if bloom is off then it's up in the 2/3rds maybe high 3/4 of the bar.
  2. I would guess it's not directly an issue with rtx 2080. There has to be something else going on. But with out being in your shoes it could be anything. The only thing you havnt done in your list is a fresh os install. But if it's only one game your having issues with it prob isn't worth it. Say that I always do a fresh os install to the latest OS version approx every 12 months. So if it's been awhile . Back up your files and go for it.
  3. After the previous APB video I'm not sure I can out do it. . This one is still good fun though. You know the drill.. go give it a like.
  4. WOOOOOHHHH YEH... this one is good GO WATCH IT, GIVE IT A LIKE FOR THOSE POOR PLAYERS AND SEND THIS VIDEO TO THE MOOOON!
  5. With out speaking to soon, I might be past my APB burn out.. we have been getting up to some crazy stuff. As always my videos go out at 1700 GMT on youtube. get sub'd and with notifications when they do.
  6. Hey Hexerin. off the bat I don't know if your pc tech savvy so I type this as plain as I can. I would actually say its become more stable. with the 64bit update. BUT... that is also dependant on the systems out there, there was always going to be a fraction of the gamer base that got cut off from the game when it happened. so with the game running on 3 different systems with an age gap of over 10 years between all 3 in tech it runs with out failures. but my 3 systems and os Plus os drivers/software etc its like my 3 vs 45million different types of computers and os etc etc etc. .. ultimately game stability is a matter of 3 categories. Hardware , OS + Drivers Back Ground applications. With pc gaming,, a gamer/"user" can have a lot of games installed all copying/writing/modifying to the same system files, or needing individual os update/programs to run. on top of 4 common different os types, with a multitude of different applications browsers, antivirus security and also network routers etc .. like most modern games don't need dx9 . APBR is still dependant on dx9 . also requires ntframework.4.0 to be updated. not every country has this updated automatically or even have a compatible version made for there countries os. (I recently found out that MS has made the NTFramework only available for a handful of languages and countries. if it detects an os it doesn't support it wont install. MENTAL.!!) The following is not guidance but general knowledge and actions you take are at your own risk. So if you are having a "hardware" instability, there is a few things you can try, obvious first being, update your drivers for the system, motherboard, sound, graphics. bla bla .. not all hardware is compatible with the game, and your not just going to through the gpu out the window for apb, try looking into the gpu control parameters to see if you have an option to set a "graphics profile" up for APB, this will allow you to set how you wish the gpu to handle the game, this can also be done for cpu. but a bit more tricky. normally hardware isnt so common. if your getting OS / Driver errors, This is a bit more tricky, with out knowing your system and the error, you can try and research the error code or error description to understand it a bit more in google. we have already mentioned updating drivers. some os environments will automatically restrict the games network activity, firewall or security application, don't just simply turn these off, but you can add an option to allow or un-restrict the game. OS updates are also an important part of the os environment when running games. (did you know , most common issue is that people who use pirated os or un-licensed versions will have issues with game stability. but obviously they don't state their os legality just the game is unstable. .) Back ground Applications, this gets overlooked a lot. for instance many games over the years sold on Steam, don't actually like running with steam overlay. this also goes for discord overlay, or any other type of 3rd party software that overlays or interacts with the DX hooking/ or "screen" also running any form of internet browser will slow your system, many gamers listen to there own music with Spotify or some sort of desktop application, some of these will attempt to show a screen "notification" for tracks etc . these apps can also affect an older game like apb, but also EAC . additionally if you are running older hardware running a lot of background programs will have an effect on your system. this goes for Capture software that attempts to Hook via DX it will 90% of the time crash the game in my testing, Xbox interface overlay rubbish is also a known problem forced on the users, you can semi disable it to a "standby mode" Nvidia Geforce Experience Shadow play what ever you call that garbage will automatically attempt to hook to your game, this is also another known issue with DX9 and EAC. Running chrome for example can use a minimum of 4gb ram or more depending on tabs, toolbars, addons etc, the game requires 3 to 3.5 gb of ram, your os will normally run around 2gb depending on what youv installed. so your already looking at 9gb, if you run discord in the background with A LOT of different server.. your looking at possibly 1gb or more .. running spotify or youtube desktop thats another 1 to 2gb.. now your at 12 to 14gb of ram.. not to mention all the cpu processing require. and your local storage read writes.. old tech cant handle that. even some low spec modern stuff cant. to test around this, run the game direct through its stand alone launcher, with steam closed entirely and other apps/programs, or the other way if the game is unstable in standalone mode run it through steam. another test is to run the game in "Window mode", it will use less hardware and not require screen exclusivity. If you have the option to , Relocate the game to a secondary Storage off the main C OS Drive , HDD or SSD of the Sata 3 type. I personally have found apb on m.2 to miss-behave. A big issue with many countries with people getting into gaming are people running old hardware on newer OS,. as much as you can install windows 11 or 10 on an 8 year old system with a core i7 920 and DDR3 memory with a gtx1060ti (can not remember if that's even a card haha) you will run into issues somewhere as the OS's become more focused on modern tech cutting out the support for the old. there is a lot you can do, if you really want to play the game, like I run the game in administrator mode. by locating the games launcher and setting it to launch in admin. I also created an NVidia Profile for the game so the gpu runs the game exactly how i want it to ( hents this thread about RTX) . (im not talking about Nvidia experience which is a pile of Poop) . hope that sheds some light on the issue. be it for yourself or anyone else that's either not PC knowledgeable or is interested in understanding it more.
  7. So been having fun. minus the weird "bullet reg" issues going on. SO here is more gameplay madness. anyone else find waterfront boring?
  8. what OS version ? Home or Pro? 32bit or 64Bit Known causes, screen overlays, Steam, discord some capture software, hardware monitoring etc can cause issues with fps ingame. same goes for microsoft xbox overlay Windows 10 go to os display options and check your os is setting the display at the correct fps. windows 11 , in start bar type "advanced display" some times w11 can incorrectly set fps even though NVC will show it at its max default. Sometimes running the game on OS storage device can have issues depending how and what you have setup, having the game on a secondary storage device/ssd (sata 3 i find is better then M.2) If you running the game with Steam you can simply move the game and reload with steam library. The following is guidance at your own risk things to double check: Direct X is installed ( get Direct X direct from microsoft) NetFrameWork is installed ( Get NtFramework direct from microsoft) Things to test : Nvidia control panel 1. Tab > adjust settings with preview - set to = "use advanced 3d image settings" 2 tab > Manage 3d settings - second tab "program settings" "add" Find apb reloaded, or by browsing locating game exe Not Launcher. 2.a . (options here may vary due to gpu type) if you have a Gsync or free sync compatible monitor set "monitor Tech" = G-Sync Compatible" if you do not have gsync monitor select "vertical sync" = on. you can also set "max frame rate" to equal your requirement of monitor 60hz 60fps or 144 to 144, but the games default max is 100, although people do uncap it,. no need. 2.b. check tab "set up Gsync if you have it show, make sure if you have a compatible monitor that this is to "enable gsync / compatible option 2 = Enable for window and full screen mode. Game pre load, I have the launcher start in Admin mode. Ingame graphics options you can run the game in window mode first with 1/3 of your screen side. so if your default is 1440 go to 1080 , if you are 1080 go to 720 . turn off vsync in game as we have told the NVC to do this for you, enable smooth frame rate, advanced options: You should be able to enable all options except for "low quality health hud" "render eye lashes", Anisotropy and AA. with "bloom" active you may need to reduce brightness. if the game is fine. then go to "full screen" at the same res, if this works go to native res. let me know how you get on.
  9. Sgt Drayke

    excess bloom

if youve got "bloom" active, then your brightness is very high. that said headlights / billboard signs have always been bright
  10. Sgt Drayke

    Hitbox slowpoke

there is an ongoing issue with "hit box" / hit marker . bullet reg what ever you want to call it. were say 20 to 30% of shots are not registered as hitting target, Ive had many just go through players. I think i found the cause and have a semi solution/fix but im waiting for reply from "THE Man" to reply back.
  11. New video went out today, short but fun , Female Criminal Character taking back what's hers.. Not sure if Il been doing consistent videos but I will definitely be posting them when I have time to jump on / edit etc . Give the video and this post a Thumbs up if your enjoying the visual Eye ball burning quality of the videos..
  12. It was so refreshing to be back in the game running Riot with my criminal. After the latest update +AC update. The game feels great and stable. So I jumped back in and we hit the servers. Had a few people message in passing and missions which was epic. Appreciate you all for the kind words. So here is the video showing some of those games with a good friend Lurkinred a talented gamer streamer on twitch. and player of APB .. so watch this video and enjoy . Also this video is available in super quality as always, so you can watch in 2k high quality. Although only in 60fps for YouTube.
  13. Thank you @CookiePuss, that little very important missed detail explains a lot . Now I am in, from across the pond, I can report back that it is butter smooth.. sure I'm getting a tiny bit higher latency , but client info. after a 34minute session. client is stable, no red flags from os environment when installing launcher, game loaded in 100% no issues. even the main menu animation was smooth. cpu is not even seeing 20% usage - my system was using the cores better with the 64 version. system memory still hit 3.166.5mb , but never above 3.2GB no fps drops / spikes (rtx4080 hasnt got any issues with the game. Nv control panel is set to vysnc all apps with 60fps to match monitors.) very very rarely it drops to 54 fps but I think thats just render distance ? Ran the game in 4k & 2k at max settings , with and without "eye lash & AA" game was fine. tested gpu in "automatic" performance mode, and at "maximum" mode no issues. Gpu avg in "automatic" 24% usage. clocks not even hitting 1ghz. [max mode clocks at 2.76ghz game was no different from the auto mode) The new Engine/graphics tweaks minor but make a difference over all, ( I had to check the files to make sure i wasnt going mad.. .) also.. new sound design ?? is EPIC. I spent a good minute listening to a drain, and the contact voices at start of missions are great. although a little flat sounding... Overall Great step in the right direction
  14. Hello, Do we know if the OTW server is down at the moment? end of character creation / select server, EU is showing with a ping strength but an overlay box appears stating is down? NA is shown as not available. iv checked my end to make sure non of my apps is blocking the game. ?
  15. been awhile, hope all are well. I posted an update to the main thread post (page 1) This is my latest video if your interest. Thank you for your support.
  16. Good effort, your game video footage is actually very good , clear & using a good graphics setting. in my opinion you've over done it with the meme crap. yes memes can work in videos by they do need to relate and be correctly timed, to many and you lose the enthesis of the video, story, mission timeline etc. the difference of = am i watching an APBR video OR a Meme compilation ?? also try not to use licenced music in your videos, it is quickest way to block your videos in countries. so some people might not be able to view your video at all. sideliner from your video. Dont bother listening/Reading comments that dont help or are just negative. that simply just "shoot you down," its not creatively helpful or mentally healthy. Keep creative & just dont reply to them . Oh (added later) Some videos iv created in the past when I was learning to edit on a professional platform took me upto 9 or more hours, for a 30 minute video.. with one video having upto 300 cuts, multiple layers of visual and audio input. time spent is time learning, you edits will get quicker the more you do and push your self to learn the hot keys, technic and having the creativity to already know how you will edit the video before you even begin the edit or even finish the game your playing. Keep playing and creating content
  17. anyone is wondering if there is any issue with the Nv RTX 4080 FE , there is not. works as intended. I have been playing around testing some tweaks. I wont get into the full specifics on this post. the RTX4080 during my play tweaks was avg 20% pwr usage and 2500mhz+ clock not even breaking a sweat (as expected with this monster card) Below screens are all Vsync disabled, obviously with it enabled its 60fps solid with no stutters at both 4k and 2k. Anyone wondering why its not above 100fps I have it Frame capped in NvC at 100 as my monitors are 60hz and pointless, (Above) is 4k Full screen with ingame vsync off, (above) just seeing the difference and view distance. same settings . (above) game is running how i normaly play it at 2k (2560x1440) window mode on a 4k desktop. with vsync off Would be really nice to play around with the newer code/game on my setup .... @MattScott
  18. Gee I dont have any problems with any of my Computer setup or the game., runs a charm,. , think you have the wrong end of the stick or miss understood some of the conversation, discussion of my system / gpu was to try and help with with there Manufactured OC boost features If i remember rightly. and the difficulty's with RTX and 3k Series. Any way. Im glad others have found some help / answers with the thread.
  19. To make my system stable (not just gaming or gpu) , so being = Not over heating, Not Throttling the GPU, but also optimize Power usage for the rest of the system. So not for the game as such, the game would have random moments of needing alot of GPU, thus increase Power Draw. if your gpu says i want 100% power and a small bit more for nv Boost, then your at 102% this very quick request can make your PSU unstable or who system, But just dropping your Gpu down by 5% can help reduce the risk of this happing , in that situation the gpu will only demanding 97% say of its total ability theres no way of the gpu demanding more voltage then available and chocking its self. or causing voltage drops through the system. under volting can actually Aid thermals (lower thermal heat soak) and guarantees a set voltage for the gpu. and thus optimise longevity of performance over long periods of time instead of short bursts. so for what i do i know i can run my gpu under load of 90%+ for hours i think recently for 6/7 hours with out thermal throttling, voltage demand issues, or any performance drop. JaytwoCents did a nice video after admitting he was wrong about hitting everything to max, when he was shown undervolting and the gains you can get in terms of optimised performance over long periods of time. youl have to flick through his channel though as i cant remember what video it was Crunk good luck with W11, I personally wont be going near it but im interested to see how people get on, there will always be bugs in the first year of an os,. some say its great an others have reverted back, Yes Beta stuff is tuchy hents why its beta. . Anisotropy is just crud.
  20. Hey ElectroStingz. (apologies for the very late reply) A "small" amount of testing.. so first question . How I Start all scenarios/testing is to have everything stock be it gpu and os. but "stock" will never be the most efficient/optimised . for me when the card setup is completely stock and the NVc is stock (no profiles) i was having stability issues in game. so yes would play but card was not happy, game would crash. Second question. 2040 is a lot of the time its happy place (ingame, out of game desktop etc card is 210mhz clock so idle) . with a lot of special sauce tweeks. But to be precise if your interested. (but i wont share my secrets) how I have it setup with my system allows it be flexible with the system requirements, instead of just setting the gpu to be at max performance or heat soaking the hole time. so system bios setup, os setup and gpu setup is vital,. so if I'm video editing i have profiles set to get the most performance but stability out of it inline with the system/application demands. same as the profiles i create for games (note that not all games are the same/equal. your avag gamer will just install and play. but if you actually look at what hardware/software the games prefer you can get better performance/optimisation and reliability .) the big one is the gpu doesn't have any bottlenecks in terms of pci lanes, CPU and System Memory all 32gb of it nor its bank of SSD's . Really the only bottleneck is APB Running on a 7200RPM SataIII Hard Disk Drive but that said the game (for me) runs better on HDD rather then SSD. (strange but iv spent ours testing it) additionally like i covered in that video that i "under volt" my card from 100% continues pw to 90% if it was to be at max load. this actually has been proven by many PC builders and also mine, the card is alot happier especially between boost. means extra pwr is on the table if needed, additionally the cards power input "area" on pcb isnt being heat soaked by excess power draw, my system also has very good cooling. most of the time my card never actually cicles its fans even sitting around 50c . but iv put in an aggressive fan curve if it does peak. I think Stock out of EVGA my card is meant to boost clock to 1775 , Iv seen them OC to 2195. Any "pc" user that pays big money for good hardware that just installs a game and begins playing it might aswell get a console. Zero setup requirement,. but if you actually want to call your self a "PC Gamer" you will appreciate some games are made with amd in mind or nvidia, or whether they support cuda. physX or Msaa Hbo etc bla bla bla.. and you will take the time to configure an actualy profile for the game. not just hit the NVC "max performance" key like some Youtuber PC builders say you should do. hope that kinda helps.
  21. So just to clarify .. you original issue is that : (quote) So has this now been Fixed? your in the game and able to load the game and log in? Your new comment (quote) Is a separate issue now your in the game ?
  22. Hey @Gamingplayer2233 Not knowing if you have the game installed prior or not. Easy option is to do a new install. But if... I would try two things to try to problem solve this. 1) go to your installation location and locate the APB.exe (if installed) launch this direct. If the game launches then the launcher is the issue.. 2) if you do not have the game installed or the game loads directly and the launcher is the issue I would check your installation path has not been changed. if you previously had the drive letter changed or folder name retitled then the launcher may break. additionally file corruption can happen. try disconnecting your network connection. Load the launcher. Should load but will present offline. This would test if it's a firewall/av issue. you can completely rename the game installation folder. Reinstall the launcher to the drive location and before downloading installing the game you can copy the game files acros but not the launcher files.. although if a file is corrupt this would replicate the issue.
  23. If you do not genuinely know why ? and it does not state you have been banned. then Ticket via support channels. HERE
  24. So .. a few theories that can cause this issue. but they are not confirmed. Not in any particular order and this is not a guide. Read - Research - Solve 1) Playing on a - Modem/ 3g/4g Sim (cellular/antenna) network . Yes some modern games can play on these connections, APB to my knowledge will not, 2) router - Firewall/Nat configuration APB being old, will still rely on some old manual config to your router for "port forwarding" &/ Nat access. (normally modern routers can auto detect and do this for you, but some modern routers do not even know what APB is any more.. its 10+ years old. NetGear 3) OS firewall/ AM - AV software . - Drivers & supporting applications Including updates required to run the game in its stable state. including memory/drive access and connection. OS . this can become complicated. Makes sure your OS is up to date, you have the most recent copies of : Dxdiag VCredist Ntfw 4.+ AM - AV = Its become more common that some AM - AV will red flag or restrict file or hardware access to files of games. windows 10 defender is very good at doing this, dont disable the applications, just make sure you set them to allow files/access you trust. Drivers & Supporting Applications including updates = Games like other applications require updates, this is also true for EAC and graphics, sound card, and other drivers. 4) 3rd party software and arguments - EasyAnti Cheat or any other application that can cause an argument. 3RD party software is currently the single peace of S**** . Discord with its overlay & Screen hook, even Steam/ea/uplay with there own screen overlay / hooking .. if you run any screen capture software that can DXhook or even just running chrome with extensions.. these can all be seen by "anti cheat" software as a false negative in the drive to stop cheaters. Another example is "razor and its macro mouse drivers" will cause EAC to block it ..... macro mouse . 5) Try deleting a few files and verifying your game files. navigate to (i use steam, if you dont go to your apb game installation) -> \Steamapps\common\APB Reloaded\APBGame\Config <- Delete this folder and contents "Config" Then Reloaded the games original Launcher. (not the game directly) use the launcher window to then select "options & Repair" . once complete. close the launcher window. check your Am-AV applications for any issues. reloaded the launcher and play select to play the game..
