I am shocked its all up not in 8-10 hours but in 5 hours. aside that...legendary patch promised new contacts new levels new clothes... was there no chance to add at least 1 new clothing item for this halloween event?? NERF 45 !! Or delete the cursed broken pistol already! Nobody cares for Obir anymore, nobody uses it at first place! When was last time you devs went into spectating mod and actually observed missions and ppl who play them? I play missions on daily basis and I cant remember last time I seen anybody uses obir. Same thing is for oscar. Oscar used to be weapon of skill..if you seen someone using oscar you knew he got 5000+ gameplay hours. Instead with got blatant usage of 45 bs and 10 day ntecs, pmgs, ocas. Thats your meta! With that said I am happy that Halloween event comes so early but I hoped for more new things. 1 new legendary which will be sold for overpriced 10-15m's apb cash does not suffice. Go to the GFAC known issues thread where are everybody with identical issue such as yourselves, including me. As of yesterday the newest info update to this is that LO staff and support is aware of this issue and they been working last week to try and fix it. After I explored forums I see that many people got this error. MageLO said they are planning to release maintenance fix today and they hope it will resolve the problem which occurred after they updated GFAC AC to GFAC version 1. Half of population of APB vanished.

Honestly if its fixed tomorrow (lets hope), the fix should be a) like last time and update itself should resolve everything. I will try option a) but if it wont work I plan to deinstall APB entirely again, install it from scratch along with GFAC. I passed through reg edits, through powershell removing the conflict I had with Windows’ security subsystem (LSA — Local Security Authority) and VBS (Virtualization-Based Security) and EAC since my event logger reported that actually EAC which suppose to be offline(not used anymore) is indeed one of the error causes along with GFAC. I went even with creating entire new virtual machine with Windows 11 and APB installed there to behave as entirely new PC. I had identical issue there which brings me to logical conclusion that whoever at this moment downloads APB and installs it from scratch will face the BSOD situation. I gave up only when I got confirmed by MageLO that they are aware of the situation. Which comforts me a lot. I have to add as well that I installed in sunday APB at my remote laptop and I had no issues whatsoever. The tragedy begins when I attempted to simply enter APB on my PC which was always the main for APB. After it installed last 34MB patch all hell broke loose and situation deteriorated the deeper I went with troubleshooting. At the beginning of issue in monday I normally opened APB and after entering password and choosing my character I kept getting kicked out as my first screenie above saying it simply needs restart of the game. Only after going through troubleshot the hell out of it I started to get BSOD by simply starting the game. I can with outmost certainty confirm that it is not an anti-virus and firewall issue because I made sure not only to white list literally entire GFAC folder every single .dll and file which exists inside that folder, along with APB, along with EAC explicite. I even went with risky situation of disabling my firewall and anti virus completely for 10 minutes and tried to start in that session. So people who keep yapping its anti virus clearly didn't do more than 2 steps of troubleshooting the situation like you and me did. Lets hope you and me and rest of people having this issue, tomorrow can raise glasses and celebrate the solution of this problem.

Thank you very much, I wasn't around APB last few weeks so I got caught off guard and shocked when I couldn't enter APB. Its only important that you guys are aware of this issue so you can start working on solving it. Now I know. Lets hope all gets fixed tomorrow. You will definitely have my feedback.

Usually when things suppose to work by all means but they don't I get this obsessive urge to find a solution asap. I agree that they should roll black to previous version. I am sad that you got identical problem but in same time I am happy because I know now that I am not alone in this. At this point after decade of playing APB, I wouldn't call it loyalty anymore, I would call it an addiction lol

Did you perhaps come into possession of those different sizes of these 2 files? If you did, please upload it on some free uploading site and send me the link to download them. I think its sooner the first than the latter. Because hackers who systematically cheat and hack in APB entire decade didn't care for Battle-eye, nor EAC, and they surely wont care for GFAC. Its usually premium hacks they pay on monthly basis which are hard to detect. If the sudden pop drop is after releasing GFAC 1.0 then logical conclusion is that this was the anomaly that keeps players away from APB. Like me and you. The good news in this bad news is that I am not only one with this error. I was afraid that I am special like always in APB regarding every single error there possibly can be. I had it. It always attacks exactly my laptop lol. I have had issues from day one with GFAC but then they deployed fix and it worked flawlessly all until this monday when after longer time being offline I returned to APB and experienced first error after lobby when I tried to login with my char. At that point I got message that GFAC is not working and restarting APB will fix the problem. "Shockingly" as expected it didn't. I restarted like 30 times to no avail. Then I started to play and troubleshoot it deeply, adding anti-virus white list to GFAC, to APB...even went editing some group policies. After 200 steps I did (half of which I already forgot what I changed) I started to get BSOD with exactly .sys file. No app aka executable file should EVER be able to bring down my entire OS to complete restart of the system. Meaning GFAC is putting its nose into the kernel memory sections where its not suppose to even be at. Windows knows it and therefore we have this problem. Most important thing to me was that @MageLO and support team is aware of this issue so that they can start working on it asap. Or like you said simply re-roll back to previous version which obviously worked for everyone. What I cannot stand in situations like these is the silence and ignore from only people who has power to change this. You said that Magelo addressed this issue somewhere last thursday? Can you please copy paste me here what he said regarding this?

@MageLO Ok so am I the only one with this sudden problem or there are other people experiencing this annoying thing as well? After researching almost entire day, re installing APB entirely, re installing GFAC and clicking repairs like crazy the issue persist. Each time I try to start APB it gives me Blue screen of death (BSOD) with the error messages Stop code: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA What failed: GFAC_Sys_x64.sys I did next steps: 1) I ran commands in cmd sfc /scannow and DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth 2)I ran mdsched.exe 3) I white listed both GFAC and EAC in my anti virus and firewall 4) I disabled Deep Behavior Inspection temporarily 5) I re installed EAC My event log confirmed next: “LSA package is not signed as expected. This can cause unexpected behavior with Credential Guard. PackageName: negoexts.” and also mentions “Virtualization Based Security for Credential Guard auto enablement status.” These refer to Windows’ security subsystem (LSA — Local Security Authority) and VBS (Virtualization-Based Security). Now, I know that Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) operates very close to kernel level, the same privileged layer that Credential Guard and VBS use. So when LSA / Credential Guard report signature or compatibility issues, it often means EAC tried to hook into protected memory, which Windows 11’s security system blocked or crashed instead of allowing. That fits perfectly with my BugCheck 0x50 PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA. Am I on the good track? My question is also why is Easy Anti-Cheat still coming with APB install package? If we all agreed to use GFAC? Are there any players here experiencing this same error?

@MageLO I returned after few weeks of being offline and suddenly I cannot enter APB anymore. Errors that I keep getting states: Error: Failed to update file GFAC_Service.exe File integrity check failed. Error: Failed to update file GFAC.dll. File size mismatch: expected 1022648 got 1023672. After I deinstalled GFAC completely and ran the APB launcher again, it installed GFAC again. But now each time i try to start APB it actually delivers me to blue screen of death and its restarting my entire pc. With classic message of "your device ran into a problem and needs to restart. I have had same experience as you if not even somewhat worse. I was always sweetheart towards everybody, its not flex its fact and I came to conclusion that as much as you are good towards someone they will be worse towards you eventually. I have had strangers who became my friends in APB, I spent days, weeks, months with them, played with them, which turned into my worst nightmare after we came to the point where I had to tell them I wasn't interested. I had 2 guys who I actually allowed to enter my irl by adding them on my snapchat, IG and Whatsapp. After I declined their offer of becoming my boyfriends they turned into cancer over night. They creeped out each time I would come online in APB, they were following me around districts with their friends, they were griefing my missions, stalking me, they were spamming alt accounts from which they would initiate attempts to pretend they are new people reaching out. Problem for them was that they could change characters but not their dumb way of typing so took me 4-5 min to realize its them and block their alts, then they would get mad and write shiit about me in public chat, write completely utter blatant made up lies about my own life. Sharing my DM's around the game, calling me names and making up silly insults based on how i look irl. That systematic bullying and molesting went for years actually. Bottom line is never trust nobody in APB and you will be good, and never ever let them into your pvt life by accepting them on ur ig,fb,snap, whatsapp. Because sooner or later they will turn into a**holes. I feel sorry for anyone who is so pathetic who cant handle rejection like a man, and I feel sorry even more for people who seek their dates in 20 years old video game. After long time of proving everything to LO, one of their accounts got permanently suspended and I know it only because guy reached me out on his alt, told me that himself and threatened me that he will travel to my country because of it, kidnap me and do awful things to me in revenge. Funny thing is that he was the one who was azzhole first and got punishment for it which he deserved. Feeling is very unsettling. Basically APB is polygon for severe harassment and world of some pretty wicked psychopaths lurking in the shadows. The whole experience made me into type of person who is very paranoid in APB, I unfriended all people I had, I temporary block every person who asks me anything in APB until he asks me nothing no more, I never chat in public district chats anymore, I don't group with anyone, I play alone and by myself when I have free time, when I am done i alt+f4 APB and continue with my life far away from it. And I don't mind it a slightest bit. People are trash. Vast majority of them. If by blocking everybody means I eradicate some potentially good people as well, I gladly accept it. It sounds sad but it is what it is. APB taught me a lesson. So boys and girls be very careful who you befriend here, what you share about yourself and who you choose to spend time with. Also as many people said already in this topic, including myself, in 99% of cases just blocking or ignoring person solves your entire problem. Vast majority of harassment and insulting will come to you based on weapon you use and based on you making kill on their char. For more serious cases like mine, best you can do is collect evidence of each occurrence, record stalking, griefing missions or take screenies. Save server chat logs and send it all to support.

What did you expect it will change? Engine upgrade? We got new content, newer content is announced for some time this year, thats best we have.

Harassment has always been a problem in APB. There are many trolls in this game, most of them unmarried with pathetic lives, so they will seek a victim to amuse themselves with. Worst you can do to them is taking away that satisfaction. Bottom line defense vs such creeps is your acknowledgment and understanding that this is just video game, that this is just a random creep you will never ever have interaction with, in your real life and its just an irrelevant creep stranger. Its internet, you dont handle the creeps in APB any other way than you would handle them on reddit, youtube or DM's. Which would be, block/ignore, report and move on with your life. Expecting justice with low capacitated LO at these days would be naive. Even if LO actually see it, worst he will get is maybe 30 days ban and mute for certain amount of time.

I know that Hyper V runs on Windows server and regular Windows. So touchy arent we. My point is that via virtualization you and me know that you can virtualize windows machine on your precious linux with which you can solve your issue in mere instant. Your racist hatred against Windows is your own problem. You wont bound the world around you to fit your ideals, you adapt yourself to the world because you are nothing and nobody on this world, and world is not demanded to circle around you. You are bitching that you cant play APB knowing that you can simply make virtual machine with Windows just for purpose of playing apb if you already want to play apb so badly, instead forcing devs to make version of apb for linux.

okay so first of all you can virtualize every single operating system inside hyper v. By that i mean at every single linux distribution ever invented, from mandriva to centos to ubuntu or any one you saw fit. Hyper V is not only Windows Only because I am System Administrator and at college and at my work place we use whatever the f we want. By that I mean whatever the f we want. ANY Operational System EVER invented I can run it in my virtual machine after setting basic network settings or you can call it advanced system settings, I can do it all. I can run Windows 3.8 on my perfectly capable Windows 11 computer, I can run whatever the f ever was created as operation system to be runed. All i need to do is to set network system to my own please and it will work. WILL work. Also Hyper V is not Windows only its Windows SERVER only (with side effect to be added to newer Windows edition). So meaning you can install separate OS Windows server 2008 R2 and it will f work,. To install it go to f torrent or even 10 milliseconds of google search. Point is there is not f excuse for you to tell me you cant run it, because without any prior settings from the push of the button start to the end i need all in all maximum of 5 minutes with my internet speed download of 300mpbs. So stfu.

For fact I know you are bs'iting because there is a blatant trainee in FC asylum for weeks already... he is going 70+ kills per round. NOT BANNED yet. When you will start ban blatant people who cheat (he doesnt hack he cheats), then I will have hope that GFAC is advanced enough to smell built in macro in their mouses. By then I suggest someone from staff to stay one single day in Citadel Asylum and actually do their work and observe how many players there are "scared" of being banned while using macros non frigging stop. None of reports work, none of GM's even join to game to see daily routine of daily cheating players. Pop is barely 200 now, it should be simple to detect a cheater compared to previous tens of thousands players who used to play APB at its peak. Yet we face cheaters every single day. The good side in this bad side is that no longer, I repeat no longer can LO employers play the ever lasting card of "we are shadow banning people but we wont give public results to actually prove these claims). You know why? Because goddamn population is 200 of once mighty Citadel. I frigging know every single player by NAME. Every single player. Because there are so little of us left. And with plain healthy eyes I can see that players who macro, who dont miss a single shot... PLAY APB day by day. Nobody from them is banned not because there are legit but because either 1 ban happens ever 10 000 years or because there are no current bans happening at all. There is not a single actual gamer in 2025 who even heard of APB game, even less wanted to try it nowadays. I am surrounded with gamers irl. People play Fortnite, League of legends, Apex, Valorant, CS2, Battlefield, GTA. Its 2025 and not 2010. The only players of APB are us veterans, people who are here at least 10 years, because only we are bewitched with nostalgia and potential of customization that drew us into this game at first place. So I do agree with you that at this point (which was always) is still broken MM, still broken AC, still broken config users...but if you didnt make amend and peace with the reality you are in denial. Those things will never change as well as engine upgrade will never come. What can keep players of playing is solely imo more events and more new content, and by that I mean what is the way of KEEPING this 200 players that still play APB. Us. You and me and rest of foo's here. Forget about newcomers, this simply does not happen anymore. Whoever is lunatic enough to install APB first time in his life in 2025, will be alt f4 uninstall in less than 2 hours. Firstly because you start with 0 money regardless the fraction. And lore is really not that intriguing nor interesting to keep you dazzled with APB if you see it first time. I am rank 270 I never bothered to read lore of every cop and crime contact nor I see point in it. Doubt much people did it even in APB's time peak. If you are newcomer you start with 0 cash and zero unlocked decals (aside useless 1st page of cubes and circles) means the only ace in sleeve APB has, which is customization, real newcomer can only wipe his butt and do zero customization with triangle circle and cube. Zero cars, zero mods, zero weapons. An absolute zero. That is the game's default. So you will be thrown into 18 populated financial, yes I have been checking APB most of the day today, there was literally barely 2 half full districts roamed with again people who play APB for years. To progress your contact you need to win at least something with 0 char unlocked mods, even 0 unlocked slots of character, with star weapon in MM which has nobody to connect you with aside with 4 premade gold max ranks, because they are the only ones left playing APB. Stop dreaming and lets face reality. It is what it is. Nobody is coming to rescue our population, the only raise of population can occur is if you throw new content and then this nolifers might discord old APB veterans who quit the game in 2020s to come back and check it out. Literal proof for this was earlier patch release with first new clothing after almost DECADE of nothingness, when they released swim suit, rain coat, rubber armor clothing etc. Introduction of first new levels after level 255 which was there since 2010. You saw what happened? I did. Suddenly APB pop those weeks were 700!! Yes... those 700 were not newcomers, it were all well known old veteran names I didnt see for yeaars. We are here to try to bring back old foo's not bring new ones. Its the only way to maintain the life of APB. Not one more single normal NEW kid today wont change League of Legends or modern multiplayer games made for our age to compete with ice age that APB is nowadays. Of course in my opinion. You can agree or disagree. Whoever I had liberty to discuss with multiplayer games irl, when I asked to give it a shot for APB, after they curiously googled for exactly 2-3 minutes, they said thanks but I will pass lol. And nobody can blame them. Especially not us who know everything about APB because we practically grew up with APB. I started to play APB when i was 15 years old. I quitted APB somewhere in 2019 and I got back for Halloween event in 2024 out of curiosity to simply see if APB is still running and online after accidently stumbling on youtube on APB random video. I am 27 years old today for f sake. That is the age span of APB. Its an old dying man figuratively. We can maintain its life only through patches and new content at this point. And its not newcomers that keeps this game running, its us who play it since 2013 and some who even play it since RTW 2010's. Not new kids cuz kids these days grow up with actual multiplayer games which run on most modern technology not potato like we run APB and always have ran APB.

I admire to you that you still wanna fund this state of the game. I invested over 40k g1c in years but I am not paying a single coin until they dont fix MM or until I dont see GFAC actually banning people by not seeing them anymore in the game. Community is so low at Citadel that we all know all cheaters and hackers by names now. Simply join Asylum and you can see who is blatant in no time. When those names will be removed I will buy g1c.

It is known that all games since 2000's run better for Windows because they are made for Windows. Linux OS's always had troubles with the games it is nothing new. What I dont understand is why dont you simply use hyper v? Simply make client based CentoOS or Windows, set your network parameters and you can have both systems pretty easily. Windows 11 are free like Linux distributions, there really shouldnt be any problem with it.

i would make it +2 more shots to kill. The majority 45 users who are gods and never misses a single shot, are those same users with potato graphics config that allows them to play with 300 fps+, with macros, with no recoil configs. When you call them out as hackers, they will calmly deny it because they indeed aint hackers. They are dirty cheaters. They cheat the system and exploit it. I was calmly told by several macro users, that they are not cheating, they are simply using their legal mouse software of mouse which allows them to macro. Reply was, buy yourself an expensive mouse as well and macro like us. So yea...anti cheat will never catch those, because anti cheat is looking for illegal software in processes and there wont be none. And cheaters will remain.

The problem will be the same, after new content is added and grinded within week or two we ll go back to stalled nothingness. Solution is that new content in shape of new cars clothes weapons are added regularly every 3-4 months with more often events. Even if the event is not big it would still give motivation to people to come around and go by check what is new. The event can be simply 500 jts and maybe new title every 1st in every 3rd month. Anything really. This way we practically got only 3 events per year, Halloween, Xmas and Easter. And that is about it. Popularity of the game has noticeably dropped not recently but ever since february when APB was down for almost 1 month and when they added cross districts MM. Waiting half an hour for a mission just so you will get opposed against premade 4 golds, whilst your team mates are unfairly under capacity, makes you rq the mission and attempt to get 2nd mission which repeats itself and that ultimately makes you rq the game and simply move on to next game. Cross districts MM is ultimate last nail into the coffin of APB. Its time consuming, during wait all you can do is stare into the screen, the MM is still unfair with entire mission balance, you get three level 50 ranks against 4 rank 270 golds and that is happening non stop. At this time only more often new content and fix of MM can help the APB to maintain this 400 people. If this 400 people drop to <100 population I myself will stop bothering logging into APB and APB goes off my pc.
