Which I see as the same thing, why is the other one allowed then? It's semi doing the same thing...

The anti cheat works, just not super aggressive. They did tune it bit last time and banned a wave of cheaters/players. But they do not want to ban innocent players, which is totally fair.

Wait wait wait. You're telling me, no fog shader is NOT bannable? It involves the same process.
Please elaborate.

It works in APB and pretty much every other game I've done it in. To test if it works, if you push the volume button on your keyboard or something the volume overlay should NOT show up over your game.
Please don't, not every game behaves like ancient game like APB does. Most games understand these settings and it usually doesn't impact anything. Other then the tab says "Compactability".

This would kill the game entirely.

Sounds troublesome. But also very excited for what it feels/plays/looks like!
I'll be waiting patiently (already am since 2011, so can't quit now!)
Thank you for your work. @MattScott & the team & of course SPCT for testing.

Anyone who's smart enough to bypass it is scot-free until the reports start flowing. But even then it'll take fucking ages with Support being so backed up. Maybe when 64-bit BE comes along it'll actually be able to detect and ban cheaters like it's supposed to.
Wat?

Them going to UE3.5 or above is not for just quality/graphics sake, it's actually to redesign the underlying engine that handles everything making it more clear and just clean up. This allows them to add more things and adjust the game play better as right now it's a mess on how everything is tied together or works.

Sadly there isn't much you can do, if a route is chosen you can't actively select another one. It just decides the path on it's own, outside of your control.
The only ways to improve ping/latency is by:
- Quality cable, CAT5e or above. If it's more than 3-5 years old, or looks discolored I would advise just buy a new one, aren't expensive at all.- Eliminate as much devices in between your ISP and your PC. (You can't change the outside cables though)
- A better router like the Ubiquiti router's which aren't expensive. (EdgeRouter X is actually great)
- A dedicated network card in the PCIe slot can help reduce load on the CPU and have a dedicated device to handle the packets.
- You can try and setup SQM, which can help bufferbloat and/or makes packets fair use. Meaning that if someone is downloading within your network your ping/latency will spike like mad. More info in the youtube link below. Test this on DSLreports.com/speedtest
Other things you just can't control. The only real option here is the ones I described above and where I had the most succes with is the SQM setup within the Ubiquiti edgerouter. This helped my packets/latency always stay stable whatever is going on within the network.

Just raised the cap to 145 fps to support 144 hz monitors, which have become more widespread.

So with all the recent issues regarding DDoS, I happend to stumble upon this video regarding these issues and how Valve is tackling these issues.
Valve is releasing their opensource and networking solutions to lower ping and defend against DDoS attacks. And inviting others to join along, maybe this is a good opportunity for APB to finally have a good connection/ping without impacting the game as much.
@MattScott, would love to know what your opinion is on this or if this is even something you would consider. Seems like a great opportunity to make it all better, even though I'd assume it would require more devtime.

Exclusivity is bullshoot. Just put it back, regardless of how good or bad it was.

This tool "injects" into APB, it might trigger BE to a certain degree. On pubg reshade/sweetfx is downright blocked.

G1 reverted my mistake in the past, so I am sure LO will too. Just give it some time.

For example, i have such trouble with the N-tec, but as been told its reskin is the CR-5 which i do so much better with.
Another example is the Whisper vs the OCA and i do so much better with the OCA.
Color me crazy, or maybe its just instance by instance, but I think the sound of the gun and imagination of my character using that gun makes me better.
I think the sound helps. I used to be like CR5 over NTEC but now I actually reverted. Could be just a small placebo thing.

NTEC/Ursus for long/medium range, ATAC for close/medium ranges.

Are you running bloom?
And what settings did you actually run ingame? The preset and with the advanced options?

This is so stupid, hes saying that hes convinced with other players having wallhack as well. While it could just be common gamesense at some point or just using the camera to your advantage. "A dark hero born" Are you actually serious? You just became the exact thing you hated yourself just to payback?

I'm not avoiding a Roadmap in any way. I had thought I spelled things out fairly well in the Q&A session to live up to my promise of a Roadmap in 30 days.
However several players have expressed a desire to see more detail, so I'm translating our dev sprints into a post now. That should be up tomorrow. Thanks,
MattThank you very much Matt! Looking forward.

This can go much much worse.

Just takes one person to tell the BotNet to attack.
What I meant by single user is just someone trying to spam the server /w packets. One client, that cannot do enough. You indeed need to instruct a network of bots with clients to properly do these DDoS attacks.
