Let's sponsor a popular Youtuber

Recommended Posts

In my opinion, the advertising of this game was wack, (or if it even existed), I know this because it is rare that you'll stumble upon somebody that even heard of APB, when I came back from 2 years of inactivity (due to studies) I was very eager to see what the population was on the servers, when I checked I was shocked, it seemed almost like this game was dead; so an idea popped up in my head, what would happen if this game was to be suddenly included in a very well known youtuber's video or be streamed (even once is enough) by a well known streamer? At first I hoped that one day that would of happen but hopes were quickly diminishing, so what about if somebody sponsored a very popular content creator and maybe that'll attract alot of people into trying out the game! - It could be a very good small investment what of course there is always going to be some risk involved in it aswell.

I don't see this working right now, sadly. Maybe once the upgrade drops? Server performance isn't *good* a lot of the time, and there have already been a few well known streamers that have tried playing APB in the past. IDK, feels like this game has too many problems surrounding it at the moment for it to attract any potential new players.

You cant get a bad product sposorised,

summit1g used to play apb every so often and every time it was just a million viewers watching him get griefed nonstop or a million viewers watching him get disconnected or warping nonstop, he ended up stating he wouldnt play again until the game was fixed - not exactly encouraging to all the people watching him play

theres no point in marketing apb in any way  until its in a marketable state, not all publicity is good publicity

If sponsoring a high exposure content creator then APB really HAS to be optimised, repaired and with new content to entice people to play.
By all means a streamers and youtubers can just say no upon sight of the state of APB.
It goes without saying that people are not going to buy a product regardless who promotes it if they feel that the product is in a poor condition upon first impressions.
First impressions can form as quickly as 7 seconds and they can last for years.

to sponsor streamers YouTube and Twitch is inexpedient for many reasons.  First impressions can form as quickly as 7 seconds and they can last for years.   it's enough to make one but very beautiful, exciting, dynamic, memorable commercial .  as did WEBZEN

Reloaded Worlds and EA

[a]listgames

THEHUMANAVATAR

the fans

.
we were interested in playing .

He wasn't exactly a decent person to promote anyway. his aim was pretty bad despite his gaming history, and all he really did was complain instead of giving constructive criticism. It was a slap in the face for the community that he got a private GM escorting him around, because it's impossible to get a mod in game that doesn't cause havoc otherwise.

from what clips ive seen he just seems like a complainer, but he also seemed to genuinely want to play apb which is more than could be said about a lot of other "big" streamers

regardless, i just used summit as an example of why promoting the game in its current state would be a laughable waste of money at best

Any PR moves at this point, other than basic progress updates, would be a bad idea.
