Hi everyone,

I want to let everyone know that we are aware of how awful the EU networking has been.
For the last week, our primary network provider has been getting hammered into the ground by very large (1.5T) DDoS attacks.
They aren't the only ones. Most of Europe and other regions have also been hit with these large scale packet floods, and it has affected a lot of sites.

While Little Orbit has Anti DDoS protection that we route all of our game traffic through.
But currently if our primary network provider's network gets saturated with attacks, then we still go offline.

I am finalizing a new upstream provider with much larger capacity, better routes throughout Europe, and end to end Anti DDoS protection.
I am hoping that we can get this new solution in place over the coming days to help stabilize the game.

Thanks for bearing with us,
Matt

Dear APB:R players, I sincerely apologize for shatting onto GamersFirst server network router. We promise to resolve this issue soon.
In the meantime, please consider purchasing G1C packs so we can afford a brand new MikroTik router from eBay.

Thanks for bearing with us.

didnt we already have this problem recently this year? where you changed all server providers? And now these new ones are shit again!
Like how do you even keep finding those poor companies and providers which keep falling like leaves.
Choose 1 normal well known european provider...stop choosing unknown ones which keeps getting crashed with bs ddos.

@MattScott I think the threat from the hacker they mentioned, who wants to destroy APB Reloaded, probably isn’t letting them rest 😅

Tha hell happend yesterday?

Mid mission, i started lagging and eventually disconnected from the server. ALT+F4'ed and tried the game today - its still 160ms (no packet loss), with my usual ping is something around 46ms.

Yet, still

Figured out by my own: your state of art ddos-protected network provider just gives a huge pike of s**t on clients and drops 32% of packets.

Trace route uses ICMP packets. They're lowest priority on most network devices, and many devices don't respond to them. That's also only the public facing side. You're most likely not reaching APB's servers themselves. The server provider's internet connection might be perfect, but their internal local network might be having problems.

While in game, type "/latencytest" in chat and it should run a test for 10 minutes and output the results to APB's log folder. The traceroute is probably going to the wrong server, so only go by the district latency and tickrate. I forget what it's specifically called. You can import this data to excel or another spreadsheet software and make fancy graphs if you feel like it.

Also, the in-game overlay, that shows fps and packet loss, isn't accurate. The latency is an average and it's unrealistically low when the player population is low. Packet loss is only for the download (server to client). It doesn't show upload packet loss (client to server).
