Felaex 4 Posted July 6, 2018 (edited) Hey guys, i got an FPS lock while playing in fullscreen window (max. 65 FPS) and while playing Fullscreen 85 FPS. Is there something I can do against this? I got a very good PC, so it can not be a problem of it. I play with max settings. For example: Fullscreen Window: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/281170500 Fullscreen: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/281431093?t=00h53m38s Help plz Edited July 6, 2018 by Felaex
MeanBetsy 24 Posted July 6, 2018 Odd! I used to get this exact problem on my old PC (especially the windowed thing!), and still on my new PC to some extent. Sometimes my FPS will never go above 60 after playing for some time (Memory leak maybe?). When I restart the game it goes right back to 101 FPS, inconsistently dipping between 101 - 75 on average no matter my location on any map. My build is pretty beefy too. Another odd thing I'd like to point out is that if I cap my fps to 62 via smooth frame-rate it will still frame dip down 40 sometimes, which doesn't happen when I have it off. V-sync literally removes any fps drop, like ever, but obviously I don't want to play with input delay of any kind.
CrimeCleaner 2 Posted July 8, 2018 try to disable vsync, if activated. Also can you post a picture of your graphiccard settings from the driver menu? cheers
Sniperturtle 65 Posted July 10, 2018 Since APB's internal vsync caps at 61 FPS i suppose it's your GPU Driver. Figure if you set nVidia to run as the application wants (Allow application to choose) it will be uncapped.
Felaex 4 Posted July 14, 2018 (edited) Hello thanks for the answers so far. Changing settings ingame change nothing. VSync on or off or smooth framerate on or off do nothing. You need more informations. So here you go: My PC parts are listed here: https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/26484402? I can't find APB in the nvidia system control, so I can't change the settings there. I use the actual driver 398.36 Edited July 14, 2018 by Felaex
Dahel 17 Posted July 14, 2018 (edited) hey there, did ya changed nVidia setting as global Vsync to be off? you don't need find APB at nvidia system contol at all, your control all em via global settings, BTW off all filterings at global settings as can cause degradation of FPS. key here is "manage 3d setts" -> "GLOBAL" settings. "Locked" by nVidia global setts Edited July 14, 2018 by Dahel
Felaex 4 Posted July 20, 2018 in the global settings it's disabled
Dahel 17 Posted July 21, 2018 (edited) @Felaex it is not locked, you have 58-78fps my dear, it is caused by bottleneck pc HW or too high settings in a game to handle in-game graphics, tell ya my specs: after sharpening settings I have stable 99-101 fps. System Specification: - CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K - Graphics Card: Zotac GeForce GTX 1080 "Founders Edition" 8192MB GDDR5X PCI-Express Graphics Card - SSD: Kingston HyperX Fury 120GB - Storage: Seagate2TB 7200RPM - Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (removed n replaced to 7) - RAM: 16gb Team Group Elite (oc did by oc) - Power Supply: Kolink KL600W Power supply - CPU Cooler: Alpenföhn Matterhorn Black CPU Cooler - Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z170XP-SLI Intel Z170 (Socket 1151) DDR4 ATX Motherboardright, ultra setts fps drops every time I see at close-combat smoke after grenades. if remove filtering to x4 all is good. this pc has build jan 2018 full team of engineering, no AMD on board. game need to be adjusted for performance, sometimes if I set filter to x8-x16 game crashes with error "run out of memory" where not should. anyway, dude, set in game settings to med and enjoy it. BTW fps locks by vsync at 60, but u have more than this, it is ur HW. Edited July 21, 2018 by Dahel
BlatMan 718 Posted July 22, 2018 (edited) In the Nvidia control panel set Power management mode to prefer maximum performance. Also disable HPET in your BIOS if available. Mine gets stuck at 80fps if it's enabled. Also, I had a weird issue with OBS lowering my fps with it just open in the background, but not streaming or recording.
