  1. Banning cheaters isn't going to improve the game all that much, not sure why people keep hyping up BattleEye. The actual biggest addition for preventing cheaters isn't even BattleEye itself, it's the addition of a new engine upgrade. You implement BattleEye and the hack websites only need to create a new bypass. You upgrade the engine however and the hack websites need to take down their cheat and re-code everything and on a low population game like APB, it's going to be hard for those websites to find the financial incentive to continue to support the cheat any longer.

I get where you are coming from. But if they both allow it to be possible and tell you its not allowed, when you get banned for it you have no one to blame but yourself.

Yes, this is true. However do Little Orbit want to set the precedent that banning people for simply editing things in the game that lets be honest, should've been there in the first place. I know plenty of TPS and FPS games on PC that have a toggle feature for sprinting and a hold feature for crouching. Look at any recent Battlefield game, although those games aren't entirely representative of the pinnacle of PC gaming the amount of features they allow you to change in those games including crosshairs, color of the crosshairs, transparency of HUD icons etc etc.

It's just not good enough in my opinion anymore to just have the anemic features in APB, the game has been out for ages and its settings have remained pretty much consistent throughout its lifespan with the addition of anti-aliasing which no one uses because it's non competitive. Matt said, not to make changes to the files of the game in the QA but said he'd look into adding some of the features into the game and I'll definitely hold him to that, being half blind I'm still waiting for features that allow me to see colors a little better like the red of enemy name tags.

True .. but i dunno how to feel about it. I mean those players who already completed roles and grinded all those kills would be kind upset after seeing nubs who got same stuff for free without any work 😕

I mean you can sort of do that anyway, 2 hours in both FC districts and you should have enough tickets to get yourself a high rank mod for a week. I don't think they should ever lower it however, I think it's a good deterrent to get people to not cheat. If you work your way through the ranks, it'll pay concessions, but if you decide to cheat you'll never get to have availability to 4 slot cars you can purchase with in-game cash or high level modifications.

The availability of thos mods and cars, weapons are the only things we can sometimes have over cheaters.

I dunno. I kind of like the different cultures that the servers have developed due to their segregation. Would be nice to see some ability to maybe cross over but a complete merge in to a singular server I am not that fond of.

Colby had the best culture, an unfortunate victim to segregation, tko is a product of Colby.

I mean your blatant fanboyism of the company in spite of everything presented before you was evident in that thread about the GM fucking with players lol

nothing you say is really going to be of interest for anyone that wants to see the game progress past 1500 concurrent players lmao

How dramatic, but it looks like I already have a fan. No, I'm no fan of Little Orbit, in-fact there is nothing to be a fan of. I'd be lying if I said I was a fan of their other work which I know nothing of, I'm just not such a huge fan of neuroticism and melodramatisation, that's all.

Client side speed hacking is not as smooth as GM commands, What client side cheat speedhack looks like is teleporting because of the packet manipulation, Ive seen the commands on Innova and I have seen GMs use it there and it looks exactly the same smooth speedhack, Don't start pulling G1 behavior on us, Just be honest.

It's a stupid argument because it hinges on pure speculation and anecdotal evidence to prove a point. Are you absolutely aware that there is no hack available that could give you that form of speedhack..? Like I mean absolutely 100% positive, you've checked every website that provides that sort of software and confirmed with empirical evidence that it cannot be done. Anything perceived can be achieved.

I never really turned on G1, so it's hard to say. The reason I never turned on G1 though was because I thought they mostly made the game better so. . .

. . . I guess it would take until LO does more to hurt APB than to help it? But all things considered, LO hasn't really done anything yet except change over to a worse forum, so there's not much to hate them for.

Really..? I actually like the layout of this forum. It's hard to get use to, but I like how clean it feels and how seamless the and feature filled the new set-up is.

Personally, I'm seeing it already happening in another thread and I already see that the community is wearing on Lixii. Matt is also communicating a lot less than before. Honestly I can't say that I'm all that surprised that the new GM's are starting to see the APB community for what it is, but I noticed it years ago. There are some very fine people in this community, just sad that those people aren't the vocal majority on these forums.

I won't even say a month, I'd give it an extra week from now or until they don't put out Battleye in a expedient amount of time.

  8. Wow, did things get carried away in this thread?! Seriously guys, it's probably either a speedhacker or DDOSing. The game is experiencing DDOSing so of course Lixii is going to say that the game is experiencing issues currently on that side when the issue seems like it may be related to lag. I think the hacker running past was just coincidental it's not related though. One month in to the new GM team and you guys are already trying to burn bridges.

  9. Just get rid of the damn system, I came back from a 2 year long break around 2 weeks back and I still have 600 days of premium left. Once you start paying out for stuff in the Armas marketplace the game figuratively hands premium time like cheap candy. So it's either you have too much premium time so that you never even have to consider buying premium ever again or that you never spend a dime on this game and you struggle to keeps the guns you want on rental.

Honestly I'd be in favour of them just revamping the premium system entirely as well. The cooldown benefit in my opinion definitely needs to go, because as miniscule its effect is on the balance of the game, it is still an advantage that can be paid for. I'm thinking more or less of spotter, field supplier and nitros are negligible advantages but spotter is pretty game changing if people decide to use it.

    -Remove cooldown reductions

-Have timed exclusive sales for premium members a week ahead of non-premium members.

-More clothing, theme, vehicle, weapon slots etc.

-More advanced tools in the symbol editor

-Keep the in-game currency increase the same but make it so that for every premium member in your team, non premium members earn 10% more

-Reduce the tariffs for ingame marketplace by 5%

Those are some slight changes I'd suggest.

  10. Even the LOD's look better in those comparison pictures. For instance, look at the football shaped building in the background. The lines on the building look more defined as well as the textures. I've actually often wondered if at one point they'd ever consider increasing the max spotting range at 125m instead of 100..? So then you could balance guns around the new draw distance increase. I'm actually curious how much more progress in terms of textures, lighting, ambient occlusion, AA has been done ever since these last comparison pictures.

It makes me wonder also at some point in the future if Little Orbit will hire a third party company to re-do the assets of everything in APB in higher detail or will they consider undertaking that task themselves? Maybe they could even think about approaching NVIDIA at some point about implementing hairworks into APB or some other proprietary technologies that NVIDIA are showing off.

The easiest way would be probably to recruit decent streamers / people who have famous apb montages imo. You can even see based on that which weapons they are using or hear their opinions on the balance during the streams.

Additionally there were quite few people who were doing weapon showcases on youtube and were testing the guns in all circumstances. Even if they weren't some top players they most likely understood the balance very well.

Oh god no, here is where I have issues. Streamers aren't arbiters of what makes a weapon good or bad, neither are many of the competitive players in this game. He said something very valid in response to you and that's people come with their own agendas. Streamers are the worst people to hand that sort of power over to because they're opinion formers, which means to say they validate the opinions of people who may be feeling the same way and it snowballs into anything they say being self-validated by the obviously biased community that follows them.

For instance streamer with 5000 viewers says "Oh this N-TEC is super overpowered" There will be legitimate grievances with what he says in his chat but a majority will then come to the forums and pay lip service to this stream by reiterating not even their own views but the views of the streamer.

I'd only agree for streamers getting accepted into a balance program on certain conditions.

-They have to sign an NDA, no exceptions. If they're helping on balance I don't want it being "leaked" out or revealing details before the devs do.

-They need to be a longstanding member of the community, someone like Kempington or Shini or even DopeFish if he was still around.

-I don't want the dev team to ever forget that the streamers or community contributors are simply in an advisory role and I don't want to see a balance change added simply because they had one shitty night on APB.

That's really all I'd ask but overall I agree, good players and community contributors should be where Little Orbit should turn, but they should also not forget that the new user experience is just as important.

I can't say much about the Yukon, frankly, it's a cancerous weapon. Ogre, Ursus and Volcano, the fact you mention the Ursus as well show me you never actually played it. Ursus is inferior to a Bloody N-Tec 5.

But perhaps "not supposed to be good" was the wrong wording to chose "Not supposed to be better" might have been more accurate. Still, I am not saying the stats of the Anubis could get a buff, but op suggested to take away the unique Mod. which is not going to happen, you basically strip the uniqueness of the weapon, but even in it's current state people manage to successfully play and use the gun against others.

To what degree? Jesus. I could pick up any gun any use it to a certain amount of success from time to time that doesn't mean it's balanced. I've used my Adeen in missions and FC, sometimes as you said to a successful degree as in not going negative. But why would I give myself the headache of using a bad gun with a horrible crosshair when I can easily just switch to the scout or something better..? Your logic makes no sense, you attest to the fact that the N-TEC 7 is an inferior gun to the N-TEC 5 when comparatively that's completely wrong, it's more often compared to the CR762 which is a superior weapon in every respect to the N-TEC-7.

You know what the Adeens closest comparison is..? The RSA or Colby Commander. The revolvers are better though because they have higher accuracy, the recovery doesn't matter because the playstyle for those guns doesn't favour being out in the open but behind cover where you peak in and out of cover taking off shots as you recover accuracy, the RSA has better standing accuracy though of 16cm at 10m while the Adeen is 19cm at 10m. To add onto that the RSA doesn't waste the primary slot with a subpar primary weapon.

I mean the RSA itself is a pretty bad secondary, it's available to almost everyone and barely anyone uses it because the 45 and FBW are just comparatively better for what they need to compete against at their respective ranges but the RSA is completely outmatched where it needs to be viable.

Simple suggestions to the RSA like quality of life improvements would improve it immeasurably.

For instance improvements to RSA/ Colby Commander

-Reduce the time it takes to draw out the RSA and Colby Commander.

-Increase the recovery time ever so slightly

-Reduce fire interval from 0.850 to 0.8

Improvements to Adeen to re-iterate on an earlier post I made

-Reduce the size of the crosshair or make it so that it's slightly transparent

    -Increase the recovery time

-Fix issue that causes instability of recover after jumping

-Raise damage from 375 to 425

Things like the iSSR-A, COBRA, Oblivion, Misery. These don't need a balance change, I think they need a complete re-work. The former guns are either filled by some niche that's already filled or they do something less effectively than another gun already can, the ISSR-A is a perfect example it's only ever slightly different to the ISSR-B but is trying to be fit into a square hole as a circle object.
