That's pretty fair feedback. Unfortunately I just lost my trail of thought halfway through, and given my stress levels it bore down on me. If I do another Q&A/Stream, it will definitely be better rehearsed.

Unfortunately making small mistakes throughout threw me off, I was essentially a walking anger bag (at myself) at the end. I just could not think.

It will be better. I will be better. That's the least I can do to give back to the community.

Nothing wrong with what you did today, people have opinions and it's all good. You could come back all slick then people think you aren't genuine. If you want to get better just do it for you. X

    Oh and happy birthday.

  2. Look out for community events too to make some friends and help you practise the mechanics of the game. But really the best way to get better is to keep playing. Once you're level 30 you could try some fight club to practise shooting but shooting is only one part of the puzzle when it comes to missions. Try to group with like minded people and do as many as you can.

Those people play the game just to be able to match against or with the streamer. Not to actually enjoy the game. How is Sea of Thieves doing now when summit ain't playing? Or I shouldn't ask? 🙂

But ok...big streamer? Did LO contact summit to showcase the engine update? Would have been far better pick than anyone on the list(no offense to you personally, I think you are a nice guy)

I was going to try Sea of Thieves but the windows 10 only put me off, then the game was shambles. A streamer won't make me touch any game if it's garbage.

Popularity goes down when they stop playing but there will be loads of people still playing who otherwise wouldn't be. It might even be properly dead right now.

I think once the engine is actually live and they've joined the servers seemlessly and threat, weapons game modes are sorted or real close then that's a good time to reach out to the big gun streamers to spread the word. It would definitely be a bad time to do that right now. I feel friday is really for current players.

And of course no offense taken. I feel incredibly lucky to be in this list especially as for my entire apb life I've been more of an events person and a bit of a designer. When I held my biggest events I didn't even know what streaming was. I wish I did. Nowadays I just enjoy doing it. But what am I? A streamer? A Youtuber?

    A maths teacher lol.

    Ah, yes. Just as expected.

Lots of people who don't even stream APB or play it or have an extensive ban history. Classic.

    edit:

And can game companies stop treating "streamers" like some privileged class and deities? They don't make your game more popular. The work of the dev team and the marketing team do it. All "streamers" is do is latching onto the gaming industry and leeching. Basically like parasites.

Not really true. I mean if I choose a game to stream based on viewer numbers (of the game) hoping to grow an audience then sure, hands up I'm a parasite. But an actual big streamer playing a game? Absolutely they bring players to it. A tonne of people only play Sea of Thieves because they saw summit do it.

This isn't an advertising thing and they asked youtubers too not just streamers. It's just that they have to stream.

Then why did you suggest it? 🤨

He couldn't get griefed in the closed test environment.

I think if they introduce the phasing that puts people in districts with only people doing missions he may be able to play again. But him doing missions in districts where anyone can freely join... just not gonna happen.

5 is alright for most people i guess, personally its almost impossible to get oppo in a 4 man group in the higher end of gold as is (unless ofc there is a similarly skilled group of 4 in the district, but playing the same people over and over gets boring). Regardless i think all of this will be obsolete once phasing is implented, we'll just have to suck it up till then.

I think you may be right

The thing is, if you and your buddies take up say 8 slots for your 8 man group then its gonna affect matchmaking for everyone in the district.

Yeah true but it would make it harder for the 8 man group to get a mission as they'd need a big team to go against. Assuming that the district is fully populated everyone else should be fine.

The point I was making was to someone who replied to someone else who asked why only clans should be able to make groups of 8.

For missions 8 is too big anyway. 4 is only too small when say 5 people log on and are up for missions and 1 person misses out. If 6 people want to do missions then 2 smaller groups of 3 should be fine or they just need to grow up a bit.

It's like when I ask kids at school to get into groups of 3, 4 or 5 and some kids ask 'can we have a 6?' I tell them to just be 2 groups of 3 and sit near each other.

Maybe there can be a mechanic to be linked to another group so when big teams are formed they always try to put friendly groups together.

  8. That is a very good point!

Why are clothes free, vehicles 1.5k and guns stuck and un-buyable?

If we had the Armas gun dealer we could also circumvent the clunky inventory and rearrange the weapons or at least keep a set few in their inventories. It takes me ages to find a gun when I want to switch in a mission or fight club.

Also the gun capacity is 125 and some people are actually at full capacity. Your Armas gun dealer would solve this.

Cause district missions are hella cancer, also how are you ever supposed to get an actual normal mission with a group of let's say 10 people?!

But how does being in a clan effect that?

Also if their group size is too big for them to get a mission they need to wake up and choose to split into 2 smaller groups.

    No offence...

But on one hand you're saying the streamers are too small and haven't done anything but on the other you're saying they interact with the community in a piss poor way. Friday is all about the community and letting the current APB community know what's going on.

Kemp's stream is the largest regular APB stream. What he pulls in other games is irrelevant. There are people who watch him play APB that get all their APB news via him. They don't come on the forums or follow the Twitter. It's all through Kemp. Therefore he will drive past player traffic to the LO stream (assuming he streams on Friday).

Whenever I release an APB news video there are always people in the comments who had no idea about the news I'm telling, even though it's just a repeat of whats been shared on the forums and apb twitter. I mean if the player base is so low, why do the videos get 1000s of views? Because there are a load of people who used to play or want to play that heard about the state of the game and are waiting in the shadows for the game to improve.

You can't just assume the entire APB community is on this forum and uses Twitter. Even when the game was at it's biggest, it was only a small proportion of players that used the forums.

There are many sub-communities that make up the APB Player base: Players well known in game, players well known in social, streamer communities, forum communities, facebook page communities, eventer communities and more.

All I see is LO trying to bring them all together.

All I see is favouritism and the same old shit with this company. I hope the engine update is gonna be all that it's hyped up to be or else I don't really see a future for this game. I don't see the point in favouring streamers who don't bring any new players to APB as a way to show 2.1.  95% of streamers don't even push above 100 viewers which is pretty much nothing. I'l rather we all get an opportunity to test the game whenever it's ready than watch streamers test out their systems. I personally think it would've been better for the dev team to stream and for us to be able to ask questions to the dev team than having to get these streamers to gather the question for us.

Maybe they don't see this as some opportunity to advertise to people that don't play APB. Maybe they're actually doing it for the community who have been waiting so long for this. The streamers they choose may not have viewers in the thousands but every single APB streamer interacts with their chats and answers every question because the questions aren't getting lost and scrolling upwards at a ridiculous pace. They have small pockets of the APB community and they're going to get brought together.

There are actually some really big streamers that have streamed APB in the past. Summit is one of the biggest but there are a few more. If every one of those gets a shot on Friday and not the regulars then maybe you'd be on to something with your favouritism comment. But I just see a fun opportunity to bring several smaller communities together to enjoy something that has been in the making (for real) ever since LO bought G1 2 years ago and something we've been waiting maybe 6-7 years for.

And sure they could have just streamed themselves playing but there are a few APB streamers that have bigger followings than the LO twitch channel. Having streamers do it first is a good way to get more traffic.

Build one from wood and a big mouse matt. Feel epic and keep the wife!

Not sure where you get the wood right now though.

  13. I saw this title for the first time on wednesday and did think it was a bit odd but then the word has evolved doesn't really mean the same thing as it used to.

E.g. attention wh**e has no sexual meaning and can be applied to anyone.

Also it's a title so is up to the player to apply it to themselves and can't be aimed at anyone else.
