this is pretty much wrong. The office was in Edinburgh in Scotland (Reloaded Productions). Just off princess street. The reason I know this is because I am from Dundee in Scotland where APB was made and I knew some people who worked on APB and at the Edinburgh studio (they moved there from the Dundee's Marketgate Studios, now a Pure Gym - I live about 5 minutes drive from the RTW studios and my own offices looked directly in to RTW in 2008 to 2010). Infact I was talking to 4 of them last week (i was at a job interview for a games company in Dundee who is made up of around 20 people from RTW. The 3 people who interviewed me all worked for RTW and the guy who set the interview for me also worked at RTW (although he worked on project MyWorld which ate up allot of RTW money). We spoke about APB at the interview surprisingly. They asked laughingly if i am the only person still playing lol ands one of them said to me "why the fuck did we ever build the death theme maker. It was pointless. To which I replied "na man its shit hot" in my dundee accent 😛 ). Although I have known a few of them since around early 2010. Also I was the wedding photographer for the Lead Artist who now owns another games company in Dundee as well. I used to speak with him allot about RTW, Dave Jones and APB in general and It was him who originally told me that G1 was taking over APB (although he though it was K2 studios at first) and it was going to go free to play with microtransactions (which he hated and scalded )  and I announced it to to the world and to a HUGE barrage of "THIS IS BULL" on the APB forums that I owned and ran back at the end of APB''s time with RTW.

I today found out that APB Costed 100 Million dollars to make, But how the hell did it cost all of that? This is kinda impossible since 70% of it's codes are corrupted, I mean a 5 Million Dollars game has a better coding and game-play and Quality, So how did this happen to APB? Why it's budget is very un-real? I doubt APB Costed less than 5 Million dollars to make actually.

lol how little you know. How do you know 70% of its code is corrupted?

I mean, if your comp is that much of a toaster, you shouldn't be getting catered to. It isn't asking much to upgrade hardware that was outdated 10+ years ago.

    this 100%.

Everyone should have at bare minimum of a GTX 1080 am I right?

I guess you don't get shot much playing in the bronze district.

my card is a GTX 680. Got it specifically for APB back in 2010. Cost around £650 at the time (4 gig). Still works all games at ultra. 1080 is not needed for APB.

  4. lol.. Throws grenade and no explosion. Seriously bad graffix and knows where every player is.. seems to be snapping on people who are not there.. lol

    On Twitch right now.

Easy enough to find.. not many people on twitch streaming APB.

why the fuck is this allowed? No explosions and no graphics? STOP THIS RIGHT NOW!

the fucked up thing is I am watching the guy adjust his hack right on the screen!

NO explosions, no particle effects at all. WHY IS THIS ALLOWED?

  5. in the past few weeks or so, I have reported people for what I suspected was hacking. You know what, I am not 100% sure so I want to take back the reports. Can I do that?

I thought people were pre fireing corners when it seemed impossible and a couple of other really dodgy things but I believe there are so few hackers in APB now that I am unlikely to run in to them and as i am doing pretty well now and winning allot more that I used to, if the people i thought were hacking were in fact hacking, then they are doing it so poorly that it isn't worth the time for support to investigate it.

yeah too many questionable situations, What if the troll takes a dumptruck and blocks an objective? ok, the truck then phases out, but what If he countertrolls and just steps into cars someone hides behind? instant loss of cover? with similar ideas I could construct a big list of trolly up to evil griefing scenarios. So we just fix one consistent mechanic that can be used for griefing for an inconsistent non logical mechanic that also can be used for griefing.

it has to be left as it is.

    Simple as that

I mean you will still have missions going on all around you. This just prevents out of mission players from interfering. And not just the cement and dumptrucks, but also normal player vehicles used for things like blocking ladders or ramming you off course in vehicle deliver missions for example.

Basically out of mission player driven vehicles would interact in the same way out of mission players do now.

what about when you are hiding behind someone elses car during a fight? Also having cars parked inside each other will make the game look fake. Any change to APB like this will kill allot of the fun for me. I am dead against it.

All depends on what kind of game you want to make, and how frustrated you want to allow players to feel.

Also as I understand it, the plan for 3.5  is that once in a mission you will pass right through any player driven vehicles not in the same mission.

    So there's that.

this will ruin the game. This can not be implemented.

Being hit by another car on another mission is frustrating sometimes but this is APB and this is part of the game play.

    Hi all,

Phasing is simply our term for seamlessly moving a player between two instances of the same type of district. It allows us to matchmake across instances and then aggregate each side together. In rare cases we may need to spin up a new instance which may be empty for a time till we add more players, but for the most part players will be moved to instances where other missions are taking place.

Phasing can sometimes be confused with Instancing, where players are moved to a unique unpopulated area to play just for their quest/mission/etc. We are NOT implementing Instancing.

    Thanks,

    Matt

cool cheers for the answer. Can you close this thread now ? I think the question is answered.

    cheers

  10. When we get this phasing thing on the go and we are dragged in to game with people across districts, will there be other people there in separate missions? The reason I am asking about this is because, the whole feel and flow of APB is that there is always something going on around about you when your in the game. There could be 3 different battles going on for different things in the same area which makes APB the game it is and seriously enhances the excitement of the game play.

For some, it's edgy having low quality graphics.  Some people are just seriously stubborn about having halfway decent computers.

The computer I had in 2012 ran the game at max just fine, minus the unavoidable stuttering here and there from garbage collection, 90ish fps max 2560x1600.  The fact that some people STILL can't play the game with the graphics turned up is absurd to me,

I personally believe that those that still can't run the game decently have no right to complain in 2019.

I totally agree. I dont get why the company is pandering to people with PCs running shit OS and less than adequate hardware.

My Spec. I run the game on Full EVERYTHING

    CPU: Intel i7 4790k
    Board: ASUSTeK Maximus VII RAnger
    RAM: 16gig DDr3
    Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX680 GDDR5 4 Gig
    Connection: 100meg up, 30meg down

(my PC was built in 2010)

  12. Just been on Twitch. Seen some streamers with crazy seriously bad graphics settings. One guys character and all AI and other players looked like they all had the same colour clothes on and his explosions were really low quality. It looks like most people streaming right now on Twitch are using this or similar settings.  Plus no sign graphics were there and the buildings had 1 level of detail which was the lowest quality i have ever seen!

Isnt this some kind of file mods and can be considered to be file hacking?
