OP's comparison was wrong indeed, but NA's peak on prime-time is still low when compared to EU. It's not about timezones, it's the fact that when NA hits 200 players at its best time, EU hits 600 and even 700+ sometimes.

I do understand the actual peak numbers of the two servers, it's been a weird hobby for months to be methodically checking will(dot)io: I just don't get why literally every thread about NA's population always picks a very weak number to give, it's like me sharing this and going 'Look, silly EU, no players. Weak. Haha! Gottem!!" 50a19d1c6d.png

But on the actual topic, I agree with the points @Solamente has already gone over, and I'll even risk making the claim that our population has been greatly hurt by no segregation, we were putting up 250's and even higher on weekends only months ago, now quite rapidly it's dropped to hardly getting above 200... that's almost a 20% decrease in a few months, it's terrible and looks really bleak, I don't think that 'no segregation' is the answer because (imo of course) it will continue the downward spiral

  2. I still don't get why people keep taking pre-noon numbers of NA, who the hell is playing Apb in the morning? There's this concept called timezones, I know it's a bit much to grasp but since the Earth is spherical the sun shines at different points of the Earth, thus making it different times of the day to different places on said sphere. Weird I know! Due to this aforementioned knowledge, please stop comparing NA morning numbers to EU evening numbers, thank you for your consideration

And it is not even optimized yet (assuming it is possible to be optimized to the same level on the first place).

Also they probably have just few people testing this. No one knows what impact 80 people in district will have on the performance.

From my understanding of where we are at, if we got 3.5 next month with it's current lower average fps, it would be better optimized than live (less insane drops, stutters, performance degradation over time, etc) and since it's better optimized we can assume it won't suddenly just crash and burn when more people enter a district, unless something is terribly wrong with the code, which you're right, would need to be fixed and that would take time. But still, that doesn't sound like a year's worth of work. IMO, and 'IMO's' are all we can give /shrug.

Check the date of the first update and see how much time has passed. Even without more major blockers it will take just as much for "polishing" and finally getting it to live (and that is if nothing else pops up)

4 months. They did a lot in 4 months so I'd say that argument works against your assement of 'more than another year left'. Performance is the last major blocker. I'm just guessing (since that's all I can do) but I don't think there's much time consuming 'polishing' left that needs to be done before this can be released; this is a update to an existing game, not a AAA launch

G1 was taking care on the game from the begining when they own it

they bring new contacts , new guns , and such .

    [....]

most of us lost the hope for this words and most of it dont belive now promiss , we want to see fact !

    [....]

BUT ! and i feel i say things that the community feel ...and they feel its ENOUGH .

until the engine will come up i think its time to bring the new contacts and to let us feel the game have more then to being stuck in NOT maX rank for years and no new things

You have to look at the early years and understand that G1 had an abundance of unreleased content that RTW had created that they could release for several years, so it was miles easier for them to release content,

We have the engine update thread, what more proof does this community need?! Matt is as honest as we can expect him to reasonably be, we essentially got weeks of 'welp we tried some things and they didn't work' do you think old G1 would have told us this? They preferred to be silent for years even after promising an engine time and time again

We shouldn't see content before the engine, that would only benefit the less than a thousand players still playing this mess of a stuttery game, we need 3.5 for anyone who may come back for new content to stick around

Also with the current speed, it will be at least a year at minimum for the engine update to come and even if it actually happens it will still has tons of issues.

I don't see how you can look at Matt's updates and think it will be a year minimum, they are in the final stretch, albeit a time consuming and completely unstraightforward process of attempting to improve performance, Matt told us this is the last major blocker, but it's extremely important so I don't expect to see the engine in a month... (it's hard to imagine it ever coming out) but I give it 6 months max; that's how long we have.... not that I'm guaranteeing it will be out then but that if it takes longer than that then this game might as well shut down.

Link me up the thread with the plans please.

This is from August so most of the plans have changed, but Matt has mentioned the consolidation much more recently so we know it's still in the roadmap for SoonTM

I will be extremely happy to have this put behind us, so we can concentrate on the next phase of world consolidation and local districts.

    Apologies,
    Matt

The JT reward "increase" is from 0-10 per mission to 1-10 per mission, assuming you win the 50/50 on actually getting a mission reward for the mission in the first place.

It's being properly delivered, it's just nothing.

I'm talking about the new prototype Asylum reward, at the end of the round it says you were awarded JT (no certain amount listed), and you get absolutely 0

  8. I agree with ExoticZ, there's no reason to put effort into changing things that aren't even 'meta', aka no one has a complaint with them; I'll comment on the only one that might need tweaking I'd rather the effectiveness Steel Plating nerfed, not the speed, although I'm bad with thinking up numbers... 8%/16%/24%? Idk tbh

I dont know why High Burn Fuel was not even mentioned in this post though. One of the insanely good vehicle mods which should've never been introduced to the game but here we are. (thanks G1)

What do think about a % decrease to the car's explosion? For example such as -40% explosive dmg and -40% radius, as to just have a little better chance of getting away from the vehicle without being completely safe

EU = higher population by about 5 times NA.  This probably results in better matchmaking.

NA has maybe 100-120 people tops during primetime.  Plus a lot of those players are half way across the world in South America which means a much higher ping and latency disparity than the EU.

Sorry m8, that's incorrect numbers, at least for PC, it's not hard to go to https://will.io/apb/ and double check

[Both server numbers are down by a bit, I am guessing a myriad of server issues are keeping people away for now]

  10. My first thought about a long list is don't mess with things that aren't broken, so I think a lot of these guns are 'good enough', I'll leave out things I think are fine as is, as well as things that I do not have a decided opinion on: Things listed that I completely agree with proposed: Misery, Cobr-a, ATAC (but it should be .75 ttk or under as to make sure it'd not too big of a "nerf"), Whisper, Shredder, OSCP, AMG (and probably more I didn't remember to list)

ARs are the weapon type I have the most experience with, and I've said that mag size is too high ever since it was a proposed by LO for the N-Tec initially, 24-28 sounds better than what we have currently, might not seem like it would change much but little things can go a long way for overall balance

For the NFAS I feel like a fire interval time increase is a simple enough fix, that and a longer reload time to punish EM3 more

I feel like that's too harsh of a PMG nerf, maybe just the 25m range nerf and not the slower ttk, maybe .18 instead? That would hardly be a difference however

HVR, I like these stats for damage much better than the current ones, but I dont really know if equip time really needs to but touched, I feel like that would make it feel clunkier for the f2p who rents the no slot

The Scout having a slight movement penality would be fine, I'd like it alot if this nerf was an excuse to buff the dmg to 575-600 since CA3 users literally start healing before you can get the 2nd shot off

SNR is such a unique secondary, I don't think it should be touched other than either a slight ttk buff (I know it's niche is being a finisher but 1.5 is high for any close range secondary) or an accuracy buff (so you don't have to just pray to the RNG gods you land a shot beyond hugging distance)

I also think we can agree PIG too stronk, maybe 750, 600 stamina dmg feels low for a gun that is that risky to use

Yes on Volcano, if we are touching it I'd like to see the max damage or blast radius tweaked down a small amount, you have 2 friggen rockets after all

    -

I'll add in one thing I'd like to see changed; SHAW and ALIG movement penalty is too harsh, especially since no Armas exclusive LMG (or sniper actually) has this much of a penalty

  11. I'm kinda just glad for once the picture of Jericho population wasn't taken at like 6am in order to make it look worse than it already does. I just gotta say too that I disagree that "Jericho can't have the threat segregation" It's 100% worse for everyone, both high threat and low and is hurting our pop, not helping, it makes matchmaking crap.

    - Don't touch the cars pls........ you'll ruin our fun, the only thing we ever wanted regarding cars was more speed if possible, and certainly more variety.

I do agree I'm nervous about them touching cars because one overdone adjustment could ruin a car. But, I personally think the meta of 1,600 HP tank Pioneer/Espacio and the rocket accel 1,350 HP 4x4 gets a bit boring and stifles any sort of variety in what you can choose to drive if you want to actually win... (nor should only nerf wars be waged against any good vehicle, careful balance is needed, just like with weapons)

  13. Options on limited testing: JG and CSG feel much more balanced; aka they are effective within their intended distances and IR does not feel like such a buff... however the .68 feels so dayum fast now; my personal opinion is the .73 is a fine interval, maybe not even that much higher but please, please leave the CSG and JG at the same fire interval

Showstopper is interesting, I thought at first it was upped to a 4 shot, so it def feels like a nerf, but to be honest this is fine because it was rather strong for a seconday

I can't comment about the Nfas or Ogre objectively because I hate both of them, but I can say I was glad to have not been melted at greater than 10m with an IR3 Nfas... the Ogre is still a spam cannon so I feel like it might regain it's throne of being the more annoying of these two.
